AdvocacyLobbied council in support of Two Way Traffic Conversion, Class A Environmental Assessment ParticipationSpecial Projects: $15 000 over two years for Streetscape Design, possible RED funding applicationParkingInfrastructure Renewal TourCouncil Meetings when any Downtown items on AgendaOP AmendmentsVictoria Park Clinic:Recommended approach for BrantfordMedical Clinics are permitted in all of the main downtown commercial zones including C1, C2, C3 and C8-19. Letter of concern with a petition is coming from BIA to the Mayor and Council. A demand for rental space in St. Andrew’s Church will encourage church to end lease to Victoria Park Clinic. Clinic will need to then relocateLicensing provision - (thru Clerk’s department) similar to the conditions employed by the Town of Alliston for all methadone clinics. Vancouver charges up to $10,000 for a license. Zoning – amend definition of medical clinics to exclude methadone clinic in all commercial zones. Create new zoning use called “ Methadone Clinic or Dispensary”, which is distinct from clinics and does not include pharmacies. Add Medical Clinics (methadone clinic only) to light industrial zones. Site Plan approval will be a condition of meeting the other requirements of that zone.  Consider creating OP policies for Methadone Clinics/Dispensary.

At that time I will have served as Chair for four years, over two different terms, and for a total of nine years on the Board. I intend to fulfill the role of past Chair, if desired, and complete my term as the Laurier representative for the remaining term of this Board through 2014. My professional obligations require more of my attention, and Laurier has developed to a point where there are other roles that may better fit the BIA Liaison position. Thank you for the opportunity to serve.
