‘Leaders’ swear in name of ‘Gangaji’ over

Priyanka’s Dausa Tour: Congress aim to save
its stronghold, looking to win in ERCP distts
Speculations of leak
of Congress list grip
political circles
After several years, ‘leaders’ have again taken
oath on Gangaji! An interesting gossip has
emanated from political circles as now the names of the
second BJP list are going on only on the basis of
speculations. There is word that discussion was held on
about 70 names on Wednesday, but the names are not
being disclosed. On Thursday again, BJP stalwarts
were busy in preparations for the core group meeting
whereas BJP stalwarts are not meeting anyone
secretly. The interesting thing is that whenever they
meet anyone, they would have told in advance to not
ask the question of name being in the list. In such a
situation, this is the gossip in the political corridors if all
the leaders swear among themselves on Gangaji in the
meeting? However, according to discussions, tickets of
some current MLAs may be cut and many surprising
names may also appear in this list. Aishwary Pradhan
Jaipur: Of East Rajasthan Politics, Priyanka
Gandhi and ERCP! On Friday, Priyanka Gandhi
will reach Sikrai in Dausa wherein Priyanka will focus
on the ‘politics’ of 5 districts under ERCP i.e.
Bharatpur, Dausa, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli and
Dholpur. Both Congress and BJP are eyeing these 5
districts and while Congress is trying to save its
stronghold, BJP is trying to make inroads. In the last
assembly, Congress had won 23 seats. Out of these,
Congress won 19 seats unilaterally. Only Dholpur
seat went to BJP. Later Dholpur MLA Shobha Rani
also joined Congress. One seat was won by RLD and
2 by independents and thereafter, both RLD and
independents fell in line with Congress and 3 BSP
MLAs in 5 districts also joined Congress.
Was Congress’s list
leaked? Congress
MLA Indira Meena has
announced the date she
would file nomination i.e.
November 2. However,
Congress has not
declared even a single
candidate yet. So did
Congress give a hint
before the announce-
ment. Did Congress, like
BJP, leak the names in
advance?
Jaipur: Let us give
you story of when
Priyanka Gandhi reached
Jaipur late at night! Cong
leaders started racing
when Priyanka suddenly
reached Jaipur. The
leaders made different
speculations on Priyan-
ka’s arrival, but sources
claimed that Priyanka had
reached Jaipur airport late
in the night as due to bad
weather, Priyanka’s plane
had to land at Jaipur.
Priyanka was going from
Telangana to Delhi, but
the plane could not land in
Delhi. Later, Priyanka left
for Delhi by road from
Jaipur airport.

The obstacles in the way
of making the capital
traffic signal free under
the B2 bypass intersec-
tion project have not
been cleared. If the JDA
officials continue to be
negligent, it may further
get delayed. The project
costs Rs 155 crore and
started in January 2022
and was to be completed
in July. However, due to
excess work, non-availa-
bility of required land on
time, shifting of large
lines of drinking water
and sewer and rain dur-
ing monsoon, the work
could not be completed.
Around 1469 square
metres of land of both
the malls situated at the
intersection is to be tak-
en in about 20-feet
width. JDA has sent a
letter to the affected
people to get the land.
The people of city are
suffering the loss due to
the delay of JDAofficials
in providing land. Due to
ongoing project work,
traffic has been diverted
for several months. If
there is further delay in
the project, the drivers
will have to continue to
take long detours.
z This is a traffic signal
free project. After its com-
pletion, drivers won’t have
to stop at traffic signal.
z An underpass is being
constructed between
Jawahar Circle and Man-
sarovar.
z The movement of
traffic between Durgapura
and Sanganer will remain
unaffected.
z Clover leaf is under
construction for vehicles
going from Sanganer
towards Jawahar Circle,
and from Durgapura to
Mansarovar.
z Underpass work is
expected to be completed
by November.
z The underpass will be
opened to public only after
the slabs of the big monu-
ment gates to be built on
both sides are laid.
z 85% work of clover leaf
towards Sanganer has
been completed.
z 60% work of clover leaf
towards Durgapura has
been completed.
z Three shops near
the intersection to-
wards Sanganer have
to be removed.
z JDA considers the
land of these shops as
its ownership.
z 527 square metres
of land is to be taken in
the corner plot.

matter to the govern-
ment regarding inclu-
sion of the given land
in the setback.

Expensive presents a form of ‘bribery’
Navin Sharma
Jaipur
Taking and giving ex-
pensive gifts on Diwali
can prove costly for
government employees
as action can be taken
against them and an FIR
may also be filed. This
is because the Anti-Cor-
ruption Bureau has con-
sidered expensive gifts
and presents as a form
of bribery.
ACB DG Hemant Pri-
yadarshi has instructed
all outpost in-charges to
keep an eye on expen-
sive gifts given on the
occasion of Diwali.
There is an old tradition
of giving gifts pre-
sents by various enter-
prises to govt officials
during Diwali. Gener-
ally speaking, good
wishes, gifts and pre-
sents given and received
in this way are also a
part of corruption. In
many cases, government
officials and employees
are given valuable items,
travel tickets to tourist
destinations, gift vouch-
ers etc. The purpose be-
hind giving such gifts is
to fulfil one’s purpose in
government work.
In such a situation,
ACB will now take ac-
tion against officers who
accept such gifts. ACB
will keep an eye not only
on the office but also on
homes of potential offic-
ers and employees.

THE PROJECT THE OBSTACLES
FOLLOWING THE
LEGACY
Dhirubhai also totally
transformed the traditional focus
on Indian Society from ‘smal
scale’ to minimum economies of
scale. With his deep economic
insight and wizardry Dhirubhai
foresaw the opening of the
economy and the need to make
Indian industry capable
of competing globally.
Parimal also answers the
question that was asked to him
and is probably in the minds
of many, “Had Dhirubhai been
among us, what would have
been his stand in present RIL
and RNRL controversy”, in the
chapter ‘Dhirubhai: Emotions
and Reason”. Nathwani clearly
states, “ Shri Mukeshbhai has
followed in the footsteps of his
father and he is also logical,
rational and determined.
He also has his mother.”
For Parimal, who has
known and loved Dhirubhai as
a dear friend and guide and
also who was loved in return
by Dhirubhai, time has stood
still after the loss of his friend
but one can easily sense the
contentment and happiness
Nathwani feels in the huge
unprecedented and immense
success of Reliance Industries,
in the realisation of every dream
of Dhurubhai with Mukesh
at the helm of Reliance.
have long been
an admirer of
Dhirubhai Am-
bani, who I be-
lieve is a source
of inspiration for the current
and the future generations,
about how a common man’s
dreams and his efforts to realise
the dream with perseverance
and hard work can bring re-
sults, not just for himself and
his family, the company but
also for his nation and the entire
world. When the tribute by Pa-
rimal Nathwani, ‘The One and
Only...DhirubhaiAmbani’, was
published by Navbharat publi-
cations, I very keenly picked up
the book and decided to read to
gain more insights into this one
man who the sowed seeds and
showed the path for the mega
empire that Reliance is today.
I was not disappointed. The
book on Dhirubhai Ambani is
not just a tribute to the man by
Parimal Nathwani, but it is a
testament to the love Nathwani
has for Dhirubhai Ambani.
The book is a treasure to read
and keep for many reasons.
The prelude where there are
insights by Mukesh Ambani
for a father and as he writes, for
‘a trusted colleague’, who
moulded him and to whom he
is very close in ideals and ex-
ecution; by the then Chief Min-
ister and our Prime Minister
now Shri Narendra Modi and
also for the wonderful collec-
tion of rare photographs which
give us a peek into the man that
DhirubhaiAmbani was and the
legacy that he leaves behind,
which is beyond anyone can
envisage. The one thing which
will remain with the reader is
the simple, childlike, innocent
smile of Dhirubhai Ambani,
how he shines through like a
beacon of hope and trust.
The book is a collection of
memoirsandmusingsofParimal
Nathwani as he remembers
Dhirubhai through the years that
he has been alone without his
mentor, guide and friend on the
two important days, the day
Dhirubhai Ambani was born-
December 28 and the day he left
fortheheavenlyabodeonJuly6.
WhatisgoodforIndiaisgood
for Reliance-this was the firm
conviction of Dhirubhai Amba-
ni, and is what has been carried
forward by Mukesh Ambani.
Mukesh Ambani reminisces
how his father Dhirubhai Am-
bani used to say, “Between my
past, present and future, there
is one common factor – the re-
lationship and trust!” This fac-
tor is the foundation of growth
at Reliance says Mukesh Am-
bani, he appreciates Parimal
Nathwani for the effort that the
latter has put in to bring this
enormous fund of memories of
Dhirubhai together and actu-
ally imparted a new life to them
in the form of this highly read-
able book. Very truly he says
that there has been so much
that has been written and spo-
ken about Dhirubhai Ambani,
but definitely, ‘The one and
only DhirubhaiAmbani’by Pa-
rimal Nathwani is a unique
book because no other author
has had such close and numer-
ous interactions with Dhirub-
hai Ambani as with the Am-
bani and the Reliance families.
So, this is an authentic per-
spective on Dhirubhai Amba-
ni’s life, his business vision, his
matchless work culture, his
philanthropic, convictions and
above all his deep love for In-
dia and also his equally deep
faith in India’s potential.
One can very clearly see that
Mukesh and Nita Ambani are
deeply immersed in the con-
viction of Dhirubhai Ambani,
who was a philanthropist by
heart, as Parimal Nathwani has
written, those who knew him
closely knew that Dhirubhai
simultaneously lived a paral-
lel life of a real philanthropist.
The amount of charity he did
would never be known; as one
thing is certain that he, and for
that matter each member of the
Ambani family believed in Ka-
bir‘s adage, Neki Kar aur ku-
waen mein daal, Do deeds of
charity and forget!
Mukesh Ambani pays a
beautiful tribute to his father,
DhirubhaiAmbani, as he writes
being my father, Dhirubhai
was, and will forever be a
source of inspiration for me,
whatever Reliance is today and
will become tomorrow is be-
cause of his immortal spirit. We
have now institutionalised his
influence in Reliance‘s internal
structures and in management
principles. However, Dhirubhai
Ambani does not belong solely
to Reliance anymore. He is a
global business icon.The world
outside will surely benefit from
knowing about and being in-
spired by the life of this unpar-
alleled Karmayogi. Hence Pari-
mal bhai‘s book is a very useful
and distinctive addition to the
bibliography on the one and
only Dhirubhai.
Through the reminiscences,
one can clearly see that Parimal
Nathwani still misses Dhirub-
hai deeply, time and again he
refers to the fateful meeting
planned for the day of June 26,
2002 when he was to meet
Dhirubhai, but the meeting was
postponed through a personal
telephone call by Dhirubhai
himself to 5 pm, but the final
call which came was that he
had suffered a severe stroke
and was hospitalised. On July
6, 2002 Dhirubhai Ambani,
left for the heavenly abode.
PM Narendra Modi’s tribute
to Dhirubhai Ambani, which is
translated from transcription of
tributes in Gujarati paid by the
then Chief Minister Shri Nar-
endra Bhai in a prayer meeting
is one of the highlights of the
book and one point brought
forth by PM Modi makes a
huge impact and gives hope to
millions of youth of this nation
and the world. “Dhirubhai’s
life can be evaluated in many
ways, many people can evalu-
ate it in different ways. What is
the difference between busi-
ness acumen and formal educa-
tion? It’s Dhirubhai. Despite
not having any formal degree
is life was so successful that
anyone would wish to follow
his footsteps.”
Truly, Dhirubhai Ambani
showedtotheworldhowacom-
mon man can work and succeed
on a larger canvas. He showed
how one can turn the destiny in
hisfavourbyhiscommitmentto
his purpose, sheer hard work
and uncompromising zeal to
translate the dreams into reality
as Piramal Nathwani, writes
Dhiru Bhai was Dhirubhai, only
Dhiru Bhai.
As one reads the book, one
realises that Dhiru Bhai was a
man far far ahead of his time.
Parimal Nathwani remembers
how Dhirubhai talked of ex-
panding Reliance‘s refining
capacity on the very day of the
commissioning of the Jamna-
gar refinery, and at that mo-
ment, Dhirubhai drew a road-
map for agro-forestry fruit or-
chards, drip irrigation etc on a
massive scale and today Jam-
nagar‘s green belt which is
embedded with fruit orchards,
in fact the largest mango or-
chard with more than one lakh
mango trees, horticulture and
floriculture activities, drip ir-
rigation and other modern
agroforestry techniques is ac-
tually what other industries are
striving to do today that how
an industry can enrich their en-
vironment and provide an im-
petus to agro-economy.
Today, when mobile phones
are available to one and all and
in fact daily lives revolve
around it, many people will
probably not remember how
the entire mobile revolution
was started and what an impor-
tant and crucial role Reliance
played in it. Parimal Nathwani,
in the chapter titled, An Indian
Superman of the Business
World, shares that the one
more unique thing about
Dhirubhai was to focus a com-
mon man in his planning and
when mobile calls were as
costly as Rs 7 or Rs 8 per min-
ute and many will remember
that at one point, customer was
required to pay even for the in-
coming calls. Dhirubhai had
proposed at Rs.40 paise per
minute charge for his Reliance
India Mobile. Dhirubhai be-
lieved that if a man can com-
municate at the cost of a post-
card, then only it could be
called the success of any com-
munication advancement.
Parimal Nathwani remem-
bers how Dhirubhai actually
planned for 60,000 km of OFC
network across the country to
build his communication net-
work and this dream of
Dhirubhai has been brought
true by MukeshAmbani and as
a tribute to Dhirubhai, 110 cit-
ies were linked in one go Reli-
ance phones when they were
launched.
Dhirubhai Ambani also to-
tally transformed the tradition-
al focus on Indian Society from
‘smal scale’to minimum econ-
omies of scale. With his deep
economic insight and wizardry
Dhirubhai foresaw the opening
of the economy and the need to
make Indian industry capable
of competing globally.
Parimal Nathwani also an-
swers the question that was
asked to him and is probably in
the minds of many, “Had
Dhirubhai been among us,
what would have been his stand
in present RIL and RNRL con-
troversy”, in the chapter
‘Dhirubhai Ambani: Emotions
and Reason”. Nathwani clearly
states, “ Shri Mukeshbhai Am-
bani has followed in the foot-
steps of his father and he is also
logical, rational and deter-
mined. He also has his mother.”
For Parimal Nathwani, who
has known and loved Dhirub-
hai as a dear friend and guide
and also who was loved in re-
turn by Dhirubhai, time has
stood still after the loss of his
friend but one can easily sense
the contentment and happiness
Nathwani feels in the huge un-
precedented and immense suc-
cess of Reliance Industries, in
the realisation of every dream
of Dhurubhai Ambani with
MukeshAmbani at the helm of

On Thursday, Chief
Minister Ashok Gehlot
met Rajasthanis in Delhi
and while speaking to
the party workers, Ge-
hlot accepted 'mistakes'
before the workers,
Many mistakes have
been made in this tenure.
Many decisions could
not be taken on time.
MLAs got the appoint-
ments done in the organ-
ization. Only MLAs got
tickets in corporation
and panchayat elections
and all the work was also
done through MLA.
CM has now given con-
fidence to workers and
said, I will take care of
you. Meanwhile the
workers told the CM,
Young faces should
come forward.
Gehlot responded,
You people are spend-
ing money on hotel and
food, I don't like it. You
are worried about who
would get ticket. CM
Gehlot asked the work-
ers to return to Rajasthan
and said, Only one per-
son will get the ticket,
make him win. Most of
the work regarding the
tickets has been done.
The message regarding
the ticket will come in
4-5 days.

mean one thing,
Navratri, the festi-
val of dance and
devotion, is here.
This nine-night
extravaganza is a
time to celebrate
the triumph of
good over evil
and honor the
divine femi-
nine. It’s also a
time for joy-
ous dance,
vibrant music, and daz-
zling fashion. Whether
you’re a seasoned Garba
dancer or a first-timer,
looking the part is cru-
cial. City First dives into
the art of acing the Garba
look this Navratri season.
The Garba look is all
about traditional wear.
For women, the quintes-
sential choice is the
chaniya choli: a flared,
colorful skirt paired with
a blouse and a dupatta.
The vibrant colors and
intricate mirror work
make this outfit a show-
stopper. Men usually opt
for a kurta and churidar
or dhoti, often with a
matching turban.
It’s the little details
that count. Adorn your-
self with statement jew-
elry like jhumkas, neck-
laces, and bangles. For
men, add a touch of ele-
gance with a brooch or a
safa (turban ornament).
Choose comfortable yet
stylish footwear. For
women, mojdis (tradi-
tional embroidered
shoes) or juttis are per-
fect. Men can opt for mo-
jdis or Kolhapuri chap-
pals. Go for traditional
hairstyles like braids or
buns, adorned with fresh
flowers or hair accesso-
ries. For men, styling
your beard and mustache
can add a charming
touch. Keep your make-
up simple and radiant.
Navratri is not just
about dancing; it’s about
dancing with grace and
elegance. The traditional
outfits enhance your
moves, adding an extra
layer of charm to your
performance.

with huge
pomp and fervour till October
24, starting today, 'Shashti Tithi'.
The festivities will be celebrated
with grandeur in several states, espe-
cially, West Bengal, Assam, Tripura,
Odisha and Bihar. Devotees welcome the
idol of Goddess Durga into their homes and
worship her for 5 consecutive days. The festi-
val involves various rituals and pujas, and the
grand finale is marked by the vibrant Sindoor
Khela in Durga Visarjan on Vijaya Dashami, where
married women offer vermillion to Goddess Durga.
Bengali people worship Mahishasur Mardini
form of Goddess Durga during these days and dif-
ferent rituals and pujas are performed. Different
delicacies are prepared by the women and offer bhog
prasad to Maa Durga. Along with Goddess Durga,
idols of Goddess Laxmi, Saraswati and Lord Gane-
sha is also installed. During the last day of Durga
Visarjan, there is a grand celebration of Sindoor
Khela in which married women first offer vermillion
to Goddess Durga then they apply vermillion to
other married women and give them blessings of
good life and good fortune.

For Bengalis, Durga puja is not a festival, it’s a
religion — Puja revelry will begin today with
‘Shankh’ sounds, ‘Dhak’ beats, ‘Dhunuchi’ dance, ‘Pandal’
hopping, ‘traditional’ delicacies and lots more. In 2021, UNESCO
declared the festival as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of
Humanity; a tradition that originated sometime in the 16th century.

An interesting gossip has emanated from political circles as now the names of the second BJP list are going on only on the basis of speculations. There is word that discussion was held on about 70 names on Wednesday, but the names are not being disclosed. On Thursday again, BJP stalwarts were busy in preparations for the core group meeting whereas BJP stalwarts are not meeting anyone secretly. The interesting thing is that whenever they meet anyone, they would have told in advance to not ask the question of name being in the list. In such a situation, this is the gossip in the political corridors if all the leaders swear among themselves on Gangaji in the meeting? However, according to discussions, tickets of some current MLAs may be cut and many surprising names may also appear in this list. Aishwary Pradhan Jaipur: Of East Rajasthan Politics, Priyanka Gandhi and ERCP! On Friday, Priyanka Gandhi will reach Sikrai in Dausa wherein Priyanka will focus on the ‘politics’ of 5 districts under ERCP i.e. Bharatpur, Dausa, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli and Dholpur. Both Congress and BJP are eyeing these 5 districts and while Congress is trying to save its stronghold, BJP is trying to make inroads. In the last assembly, Congress had won 23 seats. Out of these, Congress won 19 seats unilaterally. Only Dholpur seat went to BJP. Later Dholpur MLA Shobha Rani also joined Congress. One seat was won by RLD and 2 by independents and thereafter, both RLD and independents fell in line with Congress and 3 BSP MLAs in 5 districts also joined Congress. Was Congress’s list leaked? Congress MLA Indira Meena has announced the date she would file nomination i.e. November 2. However, Congress has not declared even a single candidate yet. So did Congress give a hint before the announce- ment. Did Congress, like BJP, leak the names in advance? Jaipur: Let us give you story of when Priyanka Gandhi reached Jaipur late at night! Cong leaders started racing when Priyanka suddenly reached Jaipur. The leaders made different speculations on Priyan- ka’s arrival, but sources claimed that Priyanka had reached Jaipur airport late in the night as due to bad weather, Priyanka’s plane had to land at Jaipur. Priyanka was going from Telangana to Delhi, but the plane could not land in Delhi. Later, Priyanka left for Delhi by road from Jaipur airport. • 4. FOLLOWING THE LEGACY Dhirubhai also totally transformed the traditional focus on Indian Society from ‘smal scale’ to minimum economies of scale. With his deep economic insight and wizardry Dhirubhai foresaw the opening of the economy and the need to make Indian industry capable of competing globally. Parimal also answers the question that was asked to him and is probably in the minds of many, “Had Dhirubhai been among us, what would have been his stand in present RIL and RNRL controversy”, in the chapter ‘Dhirubhai: Emotions and Reason”. Nathwani clearly states, “ Shri Mukeshbhai has followed in the footsteps of his father and he is also logical, rational and determined. He also has his mother.” For Parimal, who has known and loved Dhirubhai as a dear friend and guide and also who was loved in return by Dhirubhai, time has stood still after the loss of his friend but one can easily sense the contentment and happiness Nathwani feels in the huge unprecedented and immense success of Reliance Industries, in the realisation of every dream of Dhurubhai with Mukesh at the helm of Reliance. have long been an admirer of Dhirubhai Am- bani, who I be- lieve is a source of inspiration for the current and the future generations, about how a common man’s dreams and his efforts to realise the dream with perseverance and hard work can bring re- sults, not just for himself and his family, the company but also for his nation and the entire world. When the tribute by Pa- rimal Nathwani, ‘The One and Only...DhirubhaiAmbani’, was published by Navbharat publi- cations, I very keenly picked up the book and decided to read to gain more insights into this one man who the sowed seeds and showed the path for the mega empire that Reliance is today. I was not disappointed. The book on Dhirubhai Ambani is not just a tribute to the man by Parimal Nathwani, but it is a testament to the love Nathwani has for Dhirubhai Ambani. The book is a treasure to read and keep for many reasons. The prelude where there are insights by Mukesh Ambani for a father and as he writes, for ‘a trusted colleague’, who moulded him and to whom he is very close in ideals and ex- ecution; by the then Chief Min- ister and our Prime Minister now Shri Narendra Modi and also for the wonderful collec- tion of rare photographs which give us a peek into the man that DhirubhaiAmbani was and the legacy that he leaves behind, which is beyond anyone can envisage. The one thing which will remain with the reader is the simple, childlike, innocent smile of Dhirubhai Ambani, how he shines through like a beacon of hope and trust. The book is a collection of memoirsandmusingsofParimal Nathwani as he remembers Dhirubhai through the years that he has been alone without his mentor, guide and friend on the two important days, the day Dhirubhai Ambani was born- December 28 and the day he left fortheheavenlyabodeonJuly6. WhatisgoodforIndiaisgood for Reliance-this was the firm conviction of Dhirubhai Amba- ni, and is what has been carried forward by Mukesh Ambani. Mukesh Ambani reminisces how his father Dhirubhai Am- bani used to say, “Between my past, present and future, there is one common factor – the re- lationship and trust!” This fac- tor is the foundation of growth at Reliance says Mukesh Am- bani, he appreciates Parimal Nathwani for the effort that the latter has put in to bring this enormous fund of memories of Dhirubhai together and actu- ally imparted a new life to them in the form of this highly read- able book. Very truly he says that there has been so much that has been written and spo- ken about Dhirubhai Ambani, but definitely, ‘The one and only DhirubhaiAmbani’by Pa- rimal Nathwani is a unique book because no other author has had such close and numer- ous interactions with Dhirub- hai Ambani as with the Am- bani and the Reliance families. So, this is an authentic per- spective on Dhirubhai Amba- ni’s life, his business vision, his matchless work culture, his philanthropic, convictions and above all his deep love for In- dia and also his equally deep faith in India’s potential. One can very clearly see that Mukesh and Nita Ambani are deeply immersed in the con- viction of Dhirubhai Ambani, who was a philanthropist by heart, as Parimal Nathwani has written, those who knew him closely knew that Dhirubhai simultaneously lived a paral- lel life of a real philanthropist. The amount of charity he did would never be known; as one thing is certain that he, and for that matter each member of the Ambani family believed in Ka- bir‘s adage, Neki Kar aur ku- waen mein daal, Do deeds of charity and forget! Mukesh Ambani pays a beautiful tribute to his father, DhirubhaiAmbani, as he writes being my father, Dhirubhai was, and will forever be a source of inspiration for me, whatever Reliance is today and will become tomorrow is be- cause of his immortal spirit. We have now institutionalised his influence in Reliance‘s internal structures and in management principles. However, Dhirubhai Ambani does not belong solely to Reliance anymore. He is a global business icon. The world outside will surely benefit from knowing about and being in- spired by the life of this unpar- alleled Karmayogi. Hence Pari- mal bhai‘s book is a very useful and distinctive addition to the bibliography on the one and only Dhirubhai. Through the reminiscences, one can clearly see that Parimal Nathwani still misses Dhirub- hai deeply, time and again he refers to the fateful meeting planned for the day of June 26, 2002 when he was to meet Dhirubhai, but the meeting was postponed through a personal telephone call by Dhirubhai himself to 5 pm, but the final call which came was that he had suffered a severe stroke and was hospitalised. On July 6, 2002 Dhirubhai Ambani, left for the heavenly abode. PM Narendra Modi’s tribute to Dhirubhai Ambani, which is translated from transcription of tributes in Gujarati paid by the then Chief Minister Shri Nar- endra Bhai in a prayer meeting is one of the highlights of the book and one point brought forth by PM Modi makes a huge impact and gives hope to millions of youth of this nation and the world. “Dhirubhai’s life can be evaluated in many ways, many people can evalu- ate it in different ways. What is the difference between busi- ness acumen and formal educa- tion? It’s Dhirubhai. Despite not having any formal degree is life was so successful that anyone would wish to follow his footsteps.” Truly, Dhirubhai Ambani showedtotheworldhowacom- mon man can work and succeed on a larger canvas. He showed how one can turn the destiny in hisfavourbyhiscommitmentto his purpose, sheer hard work and uncompromising zeal to translate the dreams into reality as Piramal Nathwani, writes Dhiru Bhai was Dhirubhai, only Dhiru Bhai. As one reads the book, one realises that Dhiru Bhai was a man far far ahead of his time. Parimal Nathwani remembers how Dhirubhai talked of ex- panding Reliance‘s refining capacity on the very day of the commissioning of the Jamna- gar refinery, and at that mo- ment, Dhirubhai drew a road- map for agro-forestry fruit or- chards, drip irrigation etc on a massive scale and today Jam- nagar‘s green belt which is embedded with fruit orchards, in fact the largest mango or- chard with more than one lakh mango trees, horticulture and floriculture activities, drip ir- rigation and other modern agroforestry techniques is ac- tually what other industries are striving to do today that how an industry can enrich their en- vironment and provide an im- petus to agro-economy. Today, when mobile phones are available to one and all and in fact daily lives revolve around it, many people will probably not remember how the entire mobile revolution was started and what an impor- tant and crucial role Reliance played in it. Parimal Nathwani, in the chapter titled, An Indian Superman of the Business World, shares that the one more unique thing about Dhirubhai was to focus a com- mon man in his planning and when mobile calls were as costly as Rs 7 or Rs 8 per min- ute and many will remember that at one point, customer was required to pay even for the in- coming calls. Dhirubhai had proposed at Rs.40 paise per minute charge for his Reliance India Mobile. Dhirubhai be- lieved that if a man can com- municate at the cost of a post- card, then only it could be called the success of any com- munication advancement. Parimal Nathwani remem- bers how Dhirubhai actually planned for 60,000 km of OFC network across the country to build his communication net- work and this dream of Dhirubhai has been brought true by MukeshAmbani and as a tribute to Dhirubhai, 110 cit- ies were linked in one go Reli- ance phones when they were launched. Dhirubhai Ambani also to- tally transformed the tradition- al focus on Indian Society from ‘smal scale’to minimum econ- omies of scale. With his deep economic insight and wizardry Dhirubhai foresaw the opening of the economy and the need to make Indian industry capable of competing globally. Parimal Nathwani also an- swers the question that was asked to him and is probably in the minds of many, “Had Dhirubhai been among us, what would have been his stand in present RIL and RNRL con- troversy”, in the chapter ‘Dhirubhai Ambani: Emotions and Reason”. Nathwani clearly states, “ Shri Mukeshbhai Am- bani has followed in the foot- steps of his father and he is also logical, rational and deter- mined. He also has his mother.” For Parimal Nathwani, who has known and loved Dhirub- hai as a dear friend and guide and also who was loved in re- turn by Dhirubhai, time has stood still after the loss of his friend but one can easily sense the contentment and happiness Nathwani feels in the huge un- precedented and immense suc- cess of Reliance Industries, in the realisation of every dream of Dhurubhai Ambani with MukeshAmbani at the helm of Reliance.
