slight dampener. The country
has slipped from 131st to 132nd
spot among 191 countries in the
world in the human develop-
ment index. Health and longev-
ity, access to education and a
decent standard of living, or per

This downward slide, as per the
UNDP report, is in keeping with
the global trend. Still, the life
span coming down from 69.7
years to 67.2 years is reason for
some concern. On this parame-
ter, too, India is not alone. Glob-
ally, life expectancy dropped
from 72.8 years in 2019 to 71.4
years in 2021.
When one looks at the report

countries have registered a de-

that “the great hero was for-

There’s no doubt that the
Congress leaders were per-
functory in their acknowl-

bution and sacrifices in the
freedom struggle. His belief
in armed struggle as means
to overthrow the British was
juxtaposed with Mahatma
Gandhi’s pacifist, non-vio-
lent approach and relegated
to the background. But the
legend of Netaji and his In-
dian National Army lived on.
Modi had been working tire-
lessly to hijack Netaji from
Bengal and he has finally
succeeded in doing that. In
the process he has hit the
Congress even harder. Call-
ing Netaji a ‘Rashtra Nayak’
would place him on a higher
pedestal than Nehru.
However, following Neta-
ji’s ideas in their true spirit
will be difficult for the BJP.
Netaji was of the view that

hen Queen Elizabeth II came
to the throne in 1952, Britain
was just seven years out of
the second world war. Re-
building work was still ongo-
ing, and rationing key prod-
ucts such as sugar, eggs,
cheese and meat would con-
tinue for another year or so.
But the austerity and re-
straint of the 1940s was giv-
ing way to a more prosperous
1950s. It is perhaps no won-
der, then, that the Queen’s
succession was hailed as the
“new Elizabethan age”. Soci-
ety was changing, and here
was a young, beautiful queen
to sit at its helm.
Seventy years later, Brit-
ain looks very different. Eliz-
abeth II ruled over perhaps
the most rapid technological
expansion and sociopolitical
change of any monarch in
recent history
.
GLOBAL BRITAIN
If Elizabeth I’s reign was a
period of colonial expansion,
conquest and domination,
then the “new Elizabethan
age” was marked by decoloni-
sation and the loss of Empire.
When Elizabeth II succeed-
ed the throne, the last ves-
tiges of the British Empire
were still intact. India had
been granted independence
in 1947, and other countries
soon followed throughout the
1950s and 1960s. Although it
existed from 1926, the cur-
rent Commonwealth was
constituted in the London
Declaration 1949, making
member states “free and
equal.” The Commonwealth
has a veneer of colonial pow-
er given that it shares a his-
tory with Empire, and con-
tinues to invest the British
monarch with symbolic pow-
er. The Commonwealth fea-
tured heavily in the 1953
coronation ceremony, from
television programmes
showing Commonwealth cel-
ebrations. She continued to
celebrate the Commonwealth
throughout her reign.
THE MEDIA AND
THE MONARCHY
At the coronation, the Brit-
ish prime minister, Winston
Churchill, allegedly respond-
ed to proposals to broadcast
the ceremony on live televi-
sion that “modern mechani-
cal arrangements” would
damage the coronation’s
magic, and “religious and
spiritual aspects should [not]
be presented as if it were a
theatrical performance”.
Television was a new tech-
nology at the time, and it was
feared that televising the cer-
emony would be too intimate.
Despite these concerns, tele-
vising the coronation was a
big success. The research
project “Media and Memory
in Wales” found that the coro-
nation played a formative
role in people’s first memo-
ries of television. Even non-
ardent monarchists could
give an intimate account of
their experiences. Social me-
dia has given the monarchy
access to new audiences: a
younger generation who are
more likely to scroll royal
photographs on phone apps
than read newspapers.
POLITICAL FIGURES
The Queen succeeded to the
throne during a period of
radical political transforma-
tion. The Labour Party’s
Clement Atlee had won office
in 1945 in a sensational, land-
slide election which seemed
to signal voters desire for
change. The establishment
of the NHS in 1948 as a cen-
tral policy of the postwar
welfare state, promised sup-
port from cradle to grave.
Winston Churchill’s Con-
servative party retook parlia-
ment in 1952. Churchill spoke
to a different version of Brit-
ain: more traditional, imperi-
alist, and staunchly monar-
chist. Such contrasting ide-
ologies were visible in re-
sponses to the Queen’s coro-
nation in June 1953.
FINAL YEARS
As she approached her tenth
decade, she finally began to
slow down, delegating more
of her official duties to other
members of the royal family
– even the annual laying of
her wreath at the cenotaph on
Remembrance Sunday
, while
in May 2022 she delegated her
most important ceremonial
duty, the reading of the
Speech from the Throne at
the State Opening of Parlia-
ment, to Prince Charles.
WHAT NEXT?
This is the image of the
Queen that many will re-
member: an older woman,
dressed pristinely, clutching
her iconic, familiar handbag.
While she was head of state
throughout many of the seis-
mic political, social and cul-
tural changes of the 20th and
21st centuries, the fact that
she rarely gave a political
opinion means she success-
fully navigated the mon-
arch’s constitutional politi-
cal neutrality
.
The Queen remained an
image: indeed, she is the
most represented person in
British history. The Queen’s
death is bound to prompt
Britain’s reflection on its
past, its present and its fu-
ture. Time will tell what the
reign of Charles III will look
like, but one thing is for sure:
the “new Elizabethan age” is
long gone. Britain is now re-
covering from recent rup-
tures in its status quo, from
Brexit, to the COVID-19 pan-
demic. Charles III inherits a
very different country than
that of his mother. What pur-
pose, if any, will the next
monarchy have for Britain’s
future?

“They (Congress) fired

surely be punished. No
one can be spared in
this matter,” he said.
Addressingthemedia,

good relations with the

regularly interacts with
theCM.“Interactionand
dialogue should contin-
ue. I have frequent meet-
ings with CM Ashok Ge-
hlot. Governance goes
well, it is the joint effort
of us both,” he said.
On the question of
bringing a bill of the
State Government to re-
duce the powers of the
Governor as Chancellor
in Universities and
keep him only as a visi-
tor, he said that legally
no such process has
come to the fore. Re-
garding convening the
Assembly Session by
the State Government
without the permission
of theGovernor,Mishra
said that if the Assem-
bly was not prorogued,
then the Session can be
called at any time. The
Governor summons a
new session only after
the prorogation is done.
Regarding the subject
of fake degrees in Uni-
versities,Mishrasaidthe
State Government will
look into this and bring
uniformity in admission
and examination.
He said the Swagat
onlineappointmentsoft-
ware will be implement-
ed at Raj Bhawan for the
visitors. 49 villages of
the tribal area will be
developed as Adarsh
Grams. He said that in
the last three years, he
has worked continuous-
ly for the awareness of
the culture of the Con-
stitution. He has taken
the initiative to con-
struct Constitution
Parks in state-funded
varsities to make young-
er lot aware of basic

Governor Kalraj Mishra releases a book titled, “Sankalp Se Siddhi – Three Years of Commitment”
based on the three-year tenure of the Governor at Raj Bhawan on Friday. A compilation of his
speeches lectures App Deepo Bhava an English book Constitution, Culture Nation were
also released. Governor Mishra was felicitated by Subir Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Governor.
On this occasion, the Chief Privilege of the Governor, Govind Ram Jaiswal was also present.
l Addressing the media, Mishra said that he has good relations with the State Government and
he regularly interacts with CM Gehlot l The process of appointment of VC should also remain
undisputed: Mishra l Vice Chancellors, who commit corruption will be punished: Governor

Mathur BJP state in-charge in
C’garh,Singh continues in Raj
Aditi Nagar
New Delhi: On Friday,
BJP announced the
names of state in-charg-
es appointed BJP
state in-charge for 2024
elections. In Rajasthan,
Arun Singh will remain
the BJP state in-charge
till 2023 while Om Ma-
thur has been made the
state in-charge of
Chhattisgarh.
Interestingly, with
the announcement, the
rumours of someone
else, other than Arun
Singh in Rajasthan,
getting the position of
state incharge also
came to an end. How-
ever, Bharti Ben Syal
has been replaced by
Vijaya Rahatkar. Bhar-
ti Ben used to come to
Rajasthan on a short
stay as long as she
was co-in-charge, she
looked disproportion-
ately less active.
However, there is a
new challenge for Om
Mathur. This time, Ma-
thur has been made in-
charge of Chhattisgarh.
But the big question is
why was he removed
from Raj? Word is that
since Raj Chhattis-
garh polls will be held
simultaneously, he may
not have much say in
Raj Assembly polls. By
staying in Raj’s core
panel, he will also give
his opinions about Raj.

Jaipur: On the one
hand, where the State
bureaucracy is always
looking for a chance
to head for central
deputation, however,
on the other hand, the
2006 batch IPS Rahul
Prakash has surpris-
ingly declined the call
to Delhi. The Union
Govt had appointed
him DIG in CRPF, but
when he didn’t reach
to join the deputation,
the Centre cancelled
his appointment two
days ago.
But more important
is the point that for
the contempt of govt
order, Prakash has
been debarred from
central deputation for
the next five years. It
has been after a long
time that a Rajasthan
cadre officer has been
penalised in such a
fashion.
K n ow l e d g e a b l e
sources claim that
such an incident had
occurred two decades
ago, when former IAS
DB Gupta didn’t reach
Delhi for deputation
was thereafter, de-
barred. However, Gup-
ta had then appealed
that he wasn’t at fault
as State Govt didn’t
relieve him even after
giving him NOC. The
Centre then cancelled
the debarring order.
But in recent case,
Rahul Prakash isn’t
willing to go. At pre-
sent, he is serving as
DIG (CID-Crime
Branch), which is an
important post.
IPS Rahul’s ‘bizarre decision’
keeps bureaucracy guessing!

MUNESH DEMANDS BUDGET FROM CM
Mayor of JMC Heritage, Munesh Gurjar, while highlight-
ing Corporation’s ppor financial condition, demanded
budget from CM Gehlot during the event. “The condition of
Heritage Municipal Corporation isn’t good. I the council-
lors are facing a lot of problems. In such a situation, we
demand from you that some budget should be assigned for
the Corporation, she appealed. “You say that you will never
allow State’s treasury to become empty for masses. I want
you to sanction budget to JMCH,” she said.

UDH Minister Shanti
Dhariwal, who is clos-
est to CM Gehlot, gave
a big statement after the
launch of Indira Gandhi
Urban Employment Guar-
antee Scheme. Dhariwal
described Gehlot as the
Congress CM of 2023.
This is the demand of the
people, Congress will get
majority, he said. Regard-
ing the scheme, he said,
“Not only the Centre but
the entire country should
start this scheme. There
is talk of Gujarat model
all over the country, but
many big schemes are
being run in Rajasthan
too. In his, a loan of Rs
50,000 is being given to
the retail traders without
interest,” Dhariwal said.
GEHLOT GOVT

MLA Rafeek Khan said,
“Today is a historic
day for Adarsh Nagar. I
have been given what I
asked from Chief Minister
Ashok Gehlot because to-
day he started the Urban

the MLA added. This
is also being termed as
blowing the poll bugle.

JAIPUR, SATURDAY,
SEPTEMBER 10, 2022
GLIMMERS OF
INSPIRATION
t is rightly said that
standing up for Na-
tional Anthem doesn’t
make you India but
standing for the coun-
try and representing it
in the entire world, is
what we called as the gem of
India! And Shrishti Khatri,
the diva from Jaipur will
represent India at the up-
coming edition of the Su-
permodel International
competition. The world
finale of this prestig-
ious international
modelling competi-
tion will take place
on September 15,
2022, in Chiang
Mai, Thailand.
S h r i s h t i
Khatri, a multi-
talented sports
lover has sto-
len the stage
with her
beauty and
passion,
w h e n
a s k e d
a b o u t
her future planning and prepa-
rations, the ravishing beauty
said, “The modelling niche is
very dynamic, but it has anoth-
er serious drawback. The life of
a model is not easy
. We need to
work hard days and nights that
too in extreme conditions, have
a strict diet, and suffer from
muscle pain. In fact, there is
nothing new that our passion
forced us to walk long distances
in high heels. Sometimes we
suffer from severe back and feet
pain because of such extreme
pressure.”
It is truly said, you may en-
counter many defeats, but you
must not be defeated. In fact, it
may be necessary to encounter
the defeats, so you can know
who you are, what you can rise
from, and how you can still
come out of it and Shrishti
proved it right when asked
about her current schedule she
informed “I am on a strict diet
and robust work out routine, I
usually start my day with high
in protein and fats and work in-
credibly hard to stay in shape. I
am a patient of PCOD, so it is
very difficult for me to manage
weight due to illness, still, the
fighter in me motivates me to
work harder for my dreams, I
keep changing my training
based on my body and routine.
It’s good to change since our
body gets habitual if we do the
same workout for a long.”
Shrishti paid gratitude to
Gaurav Gaur, the Director of
Elite Miss Rajasthan for sup-
porting her and providing plat-
forms for her dreams.
She also paid appreciation to
her parents for always uplift-
ing her during the hard times.
When asked what message
she’d like to give to young girls
of her age, she said, “I keep
changing my training based on
my body and routine. It’s good
to change since our body gets
habitual if we do the same
workout for a long, its a matter
of pride that I will get this op-
portunity to represent my
country globally and I am very
grateful and excited for this
moment.

YOUR
DAY
Horoscope by
Saurabbh Sachdeva
he girl child is the
world's most pre-
cious gift. The reali-
ty in society howev-
er, particularly in
many patriarchal
parts of India, in-
cluding my state of Ra-
jasthan, is the diametric op-
posite! It’s a shame really
.
When my wife and I decid-
ed to have a baby, while she
was neutral, I desperately
wanted it to be a girl. How-
ever, the pressure we felt
from within the family as
well as from society at large,
for the yet-to-be-born to be a
boy, was palpable, off-put-
ting, frustrating, shocking!
In fact in these parts, if one
does end up birthing a girl,
the traditional response is
koi baat nahi, next time -
meaning don't despair, better
luck next time!
This isn't something new,
unknown, or not chronicled.
But it is just something that
has upset me so much, I had
to write about it. After fret-
ting and fuming about it for
months, I have come to real-
ize that.... Oops it's a girl,
that may be how you feel. But
it's my girl. Joyous, beauti-
ful, gift; a human manifes-
tation of our
love. This divine creature
we've been blessed with is
our everything, our greatest
creation, our single biggest
delight. Irrespective of what
the world feels. We will love
her, protect her, nurture her,
free her, expose her, amaze
her, entertain her, educate
her, be there for her, uncon-
ditionally
.
As an elated father there-
fore, I want to therefore dedi-
cate a little poem to the girl
child, in the hope that every
father will rejoice, rather
than despair, if he happens to
have a baby girl.
 She is the special one
 The chosen one
 The right one
 The equal one
 She is god’s own
 You’ll never feel alone
 You will never bemoan
 You will be her king
 Never to be dethroned
 Your sacred, brilliant,
gemstone!
With countless initiatives
such as Beti Bachao, Beti Pad-
hao targeted squarely at the
girl child, both state as well as
private,thereseemstonowbe
a real will to make amends for
past mistakes that we have, as
a society, made. The mood in
the country is
ripe for the
resurrection
of the girl
child’s sta-
tus, and to
extend the
absolute full-
est respect,
d i g n i t y,
and rightful place to women
in general. If as each individ-
ual we make the same con-
certed effort, we can be part
of a significant, and desper-
ately needed change. One that
has the potential of being
transformative and resolving
the many social menaces that
plague our life and times. We
simply cannot let go of this
moment in time. To seize the
day
, and do our bit.
It is a fact that is plain to
see – girls excel in most every
sphere of life. From an early
age, they are ahead scholasti-
cally and in every other facet
of school life. They have the
drive and passion to find their
calling and pursue it with
dogged relentlessness after
school too. But it is at this cru-
cial stage and phase of their
lives that if not everyone, at
least allegedly forward-think-
ingcitizenssuchaswe,ought
to ‘allow’ our daughters to
explore, study, work, and
thrive; rather than chaining
them with traditional bur-
dens such as marriage
and domesticity
.
There is a
slow yet steady rise in the
numbers of women in the
workforce. Even historically
male-dominated areas of
work are now seeing more
and more women joining and
making a name for them-
selves. Film technicians like
Cinematographers, Detective
Agencies, Banking, Food
Beverage are a few sectors
that have seen a real and re-
cent spate of women leaders
in them, paving the way for
other young women to be in-
spired, feel supported en-
couraged, and follow suit. As
a society, we need to aid this
shift and movement.
On a more immediate, per-
sonal note; to my daughter, I
promise, both my wife and I
the proudest parents, will de-
vote ourselves to you, abso-
lutely. Because a girl, is, be-
yond a shred of doubt, man-
kind's saviour. With this, I’d
like all the fathers of the
world to also join me in cele-
brating the girl child, and
ensuring that we always, for-
ever, recognize their im-
mense value, nourish, and
cherish it.

TOP TWEETS INDIA SLIPS IN GLOBAL HDI BUT IS IN STEP WITH GLOBAL TREND midst celebratory talk of India knock- ing off the UK as the fifth largest economy in the world, comes a slight dampener. The country has slipped from 131st to 132nd spot among 191 countries in the world in the human develop- ment index. Health and longev- ity, access to education and a decent standard of living, or per capita Gross National Income. This downward slide, as per the UNDP report, is in keeping with the global trend. Still, the life span coming down from 69.7 years to 67.2 years is reason for some concern. On this parame- ter, too, India is not alone. Glob- ally, life expectancy dropped from 72.8 years in 2019 to 71.4 years in 2021. When one looks at the report and finds that 90 percent of the countries have registered a de- cline over the 2020 or 2021 HDI values, then the gloom some- what dissipates. The report states that India’s pace of hu- man development is fast catch- ing up with the global rate. A Promoted by Suvasa Apparel and Furnishing Pvt. Ltd. enaming of Raj- path as Kartavya- path is not as sig- nificant as the in- stallation of Ne- taji Subhash Chandra Bose’s 28-foot-high statue of India’s sidelinedfreedomfighterwho envisioned India as a secular and gender-equal country . Ne- taji’s statue at Rajpath, where King George V’s statue once stood, removes what Prime Minister Narendra Modi said wasthelastsymbolof slavery . Paying tributes to the “Rash- tra Nayak’’, the prime minis- ter said that India would have been better placed if his ideas were followed. He regretted that “the great hero was for- gotten”. There’s no doubt that the Congress leaders were per- functory in their acknowl- edgement of Netaji’s contri- bution and sacrifices in the freedom struggle. His belief in armed struggle as means to overthrow the British was juxtaposed with Mahatma Gandhi’s pacifist, non-vio- lent approach and relegated to the background. But the legend of Netaji and his In- dian National Army lived on. Modi had been working tire- lessly to hijack Netaji from Bengal and he has finally succeeded in doing that. In the process he has hit the Congress even harder. Call- ing Netaji a ‘Rashtra Nayak’ would place him on a higher pedestal than Nehru. However, following Neta- ji’s ideas in their true spirit will be difficult for the BJP. Netaji was of the view that Muslims had played an equal role in the freedom move- ment and needed a position of equality in society. The charge against the BJP is that it has tried to usurp Ne- taji minus his secular ideas. Subramaniam Swamy’s peti- tion in the Supreme Court seeking removal of the words “socialist” and “secular” from the Constitution but- tresses the charge. AT LAST, A PLACE OF PRIDE FOR NETAJI R Netaji was of the view that Muslims had played an equal role in the freedom movement and needed a position of equality in society. The charge against the BJP is that it has tried to usurp Netaji minus his secular ideas hen Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne in 1952, Britain was just seven years out of the second world war. Re- building work was still ongo- ing, and rationing key prod- ucts such as sugar, eggs, cheese and meat would con- tinue for another year or so. But the austerity and re- straint of the 1940s was giv- ing way to a more prosperous 1950s. It is perhaps no won- der, then, that the Queen’s succession was hailed as the “new Elizabethan age”. Soci- ety was changing, and here was a young, beautiful queen to sit at its helm. Seventy years later, Brit- ain looks very different. Eliz- abeth II ruled over perhaps the most rapid technological expansion and sociopolitical change of any monarch in recent history . GLOBAL BRITAIN If Elizabeth I’s reign was a period of colonial expansion, conquest and domination, then the “new Elizabethan age” was marked by decoloni- sation and the loss of Empire. When Elizabeth II succeed- ed the throne, the last ves- tiges of the British Empire were still intact. India had been granted independence in 1947, and other countries soon followed throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Although it existed from 1926, the cur- rent Commonwealth was constituted in the London Declaration 1949, making member states “free and equal.” The Commonwealth has a veneer of colonial pow- er given that it shares a his- tory with Empire, and con- tinues to invest the British monarch with symbolic pow- er. The Commonwealth fea- tured heavily in the 1953 coronation ceremony, from television programmes showing Commonwealth cel- ebrations. She continued to celebrate the Commonwealth throughout her reign. THE MEDIA AND THE MONARCHY At the coronation, the Brit- ish prime minister, Winston Churchill, allegedly respond- ed to proposals to broadcast the ceremony on live televi- sion that “modern mechani- cal arrangements” would damage the coronation’s magic, and “religious and spiritual aspects should [not] be presented as if it were a theatrical performance”. Television was a new tech- nology at the time, and it was feared that televising the cer- emony would be too intimate. Despite these concerns, tele- vising the coronation was a big success. The research project “Media and Memory in Wales” found that the coro- nation played a formative role in people’s first memo- ries of television. Even non- ardent monarchists could give an intimate account of their experiences. Social me- dia has given the monarchy access to new audiences: a younger generation who are more likely to scroll royal photographs on phone apps than read newspapers. POLITICAL FIGURES The Queen succeeded to the throne during a period of radical political transforma- tion. The Labour Party’s Clement Atlee had won office in 1945 in a sensational, land- slide election which seemed to signal voters desire for change. The establishment of the NHS in 1948 as a cen- tral policy of the postwar welfare state, promised sup- port from cradle to grave. Winston Churchill’s Con- servative party retook parlia- ment in 1952. Churchill spoke to a different version of Brit- ain: more traditional, imperi- alist, and staunchly monar- chist. Such contrasting ide- ologies were visible in re- sponses to the Queen’s coro- nation in June 1953. FINAL YEARS As she approached her tenth decade, she finally began to slow down, delegating more of her official duties to other members of the royal family – even the annual laying of her wreath at the cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday , while in May 2022 she delegated her most important ceremonial duty, the reading of the Speech from the Throne at the State Opening of Parlia- ment, to Prince Charles. WHAT NEXT? This is the image of the Queen that many will re- member: an older woman, dressed pristinely, clutching her iconic, familiar handbag. While she was head of state throughout many of the seis- mic political, social and cul- tural changes of the 20th and 21st centuries, the fact that she rarely gave a political opinion means she success- fully navigated the mon- arch’s constitutional politi- cal neutrality . The Queen remained an image: indeed, she is the most represented person in British history. The Queen’s death is bound to prompt Britain’s reflection on its past, its present and its fu- ture. Time will tell what the reign of Charles III will look like, but one thing is for sure: the “new Elizabethan age” is long gone. Britain is now re- covering from recent rup- tures in its status quo, from Brexit, to the COVID-19 pan- demic. Charles III inherits a very different country than that of his mother. What pur- pose, if any, will the next monarchy have for Britain’s future? SOURCE: THE CONVERSATION QUEEN ELIZABETH II THE END OF THE ‘NEW ELIZABETHAN AGE’ W The Commonwealth has a veneer of colonial power given that it shares a history with Empire, and continues to invest the British monarch with symbolic power. In Rajasthan, Arun Singh will remain the BJP state in-charge till 2023 while Om Ma- thur has been made the state in-charge of Chhattisgarh. Interestingly, with the announcement, the rumours of someone else, other than Arun Singh in Rajasthan, getting the position of state incharge also came to an end. How- ever, Bharti Ben Syal has been replaced by Vijaya Rahatkar. Bhar- ti Ben used to come to Rajasthan on a short stay as long as she was co-in-charge, she looked disproportion- ately less active. However, there is a new challenge for Om Mathur. This time, Ma- thur has been made in- charge of Chhattisgarh. But the big question is why was he removed from Raj? Word is that since Raj Chhattis- garh polls will be held simultaneously, he may not have much say in Raj Assembly polls. By staying in Raj’s core panel, he will also give his opinions about Raj. FROM PG 1 First India Bureau Jaipur: On the one hand, where the State bureaucracy is always looking for a chance to head for central deputation, however, on the other hand, the 2006 batch IPS Rahul Prakash has surpris- ingly declined the call to Delhi. The Union Govt had appointed him DIG in CRPF, but when he didn’t reach to join the deputation, the Centre cancelled his appointment two days ago. But more important is the point that for the contempt of govt order, Prakash has been debarred from central deputation for the next five years. It has been after a long time that a Rajasthan cadre officer has been penalised in such a fashion. K n ow l e d g e a b l e sources claim that such an incident had occurred two decades ago, when former IAS DB Gupta didn’t reach Delhi for deputation was thereafter, de- barred. However, Gup- ta had then appealed that he wasn’t at fault as State Govt didn’t relieve him even after giving him NOC. The Centre then cancelled the debarring order. But in recent case, Rahul Prakash isn’t willing to go. At pre- sent, he is serving as DIG (CID-Crime Branch), which is an important post. IPS Rahul’s ‘bizarre decision’ keeps bureaucracy guessing! I want you to sanction budget to JMCH,” she said. Dhariwal described Gehlot as the Congress CM of 2023. This is the demand of the people, Congress will get majority, he said. Regard- ing the scheme, he said, “Not only the Centre but the entire country should start this scheme. The life of a model is not easy . We need to work hard days and nights that too in extreme conditions, have a strict diet, and suffer from muscle pain. In fact, there is nothing new that our passion forced us to walk long distances in high heels. Sometimes we suffer from severe back and feet pain because of such extreme pressure.” It is truly said, you may en- counter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, and how you can still come out of it and Shrishti proved it right when asked about her current schedule she informed “I am on a strict diet and robust work out routine, I usually start my day with high in protein and fats and work in- credibly hard to stay in shape. I am a patient of PCOD, so it is very difficult for me to manage weight due to illness, still, the fighter in me motivates me to work harder for my dreams, I keep changing my training based on my body and routine. It’s good to change since our body gets habitual if we do the same workout for a long.” Shrishti paid gratitude to Gaurav Gaur, the Director of Elite Miss Rajasthan for sup- porting her and providing plat- forms for her dreams. She also paid appreciation to her parents for always uplift- ing her during the hard times. When asked what message she’d like to give to young girls of her age, she said, “I keep changing my training based on my body and routine. It’s good to change since our body gets habitual if we do the same workout for a long, its a matter of pride that I will get this op- portunity to represent my country globally and I am very grateful and excited for this moment. YOUR DAY Horoscope by Saurabbh Sachdeva he girl child is the world's most pre- cious gift. The reali- ty in society howev- er, particularly in many patriarchal parts of India, in- cluding my state of Ra- jasthan, is the diametric op- posite! It’s a shame really . When my wife and I decid- ed to have a baby, while she was neutral, I desperately wanted it to be a girl. How- ever, the pressure we felt from within the family as well as from society at large, for the yet-to-be-born to be a boy, was palpable, off-put- ting, frustrating, shocking! In fact in these parts, if one does end up birthing a girl, the traditional response is koi baat nahi, next time - meaning don't despair, better luck next time! This isn't something new, unknown, or not chronicled. But it is just something that has upset me so much, I had to write about it. After fret- ting and fuming about it for months, I have come to real- ize that.... Oops it's a girl, that may be how you feel. But it's my girl. Joyous, beauti- ful, gift; a human manifes- tation of our love. This divine creature we've been blessed with is our everything, our greatest creation, our single biggest delight. Irrespective of what the world feels. We will love her, protect her, nurture her, free her, expose her, amaze her, entertain her, educate her, be there for her, uncon- ditionally . As an elated father there- fore, I want to therefore dedi- cate a little poem to the girl child, in the hope that every father will rejoice, rather than despair, if he happens to have a baby girl.  She is the special one  The chosen one  The right one  The equal one  She is god’s own  You’ll never feel alone  You will never bemoan  You will be her king  Never to be dethroned  Your sacred, brilliant, gemstone! With countless initiatives such as Beti Bachao, Beti Pad- hao targeted squarely at the girl child, both state as well as private, thereseemstonowbe a real will to make amends for past mistakes that we have, as a society, made. The mood in the country is ripe for the resurrection of the girl child’s sta- tus, and to extend the absolute full- est respect, d i g n i t y, and rightful place to women in general. If as each individ- ual we make the same con- certed effort, we can be part of a significant, and desper- ately needed change. One that has the potential of being transformative and resolving the many social menaces that plague our life and times. We simply cannot let go of this moment in time. To seize the day , and do our bit. It is a fact that is plain to see – girls excel in most every sphere of life. From an early age, they are ahead scholasti- cally and in every other facet of school life. They have the drive and passion to find their calling and pursue it with dogged relentlessness after school too. But it is at this cru- cial stage and phase of their lives that if not everyone, at least allegedly forward-think- ingcitizenssuchaswe, ought to ‘allow’ our daughters to explore, study, work, and thrive; rather than chaining them with traditional bur- dens such as marriage and domesticity . There is a slow yet steady rise in the numbers of women in the workforce. Even historically male-dominated areas of work are now seeing more and more women joining and making a name for them- selves. Film technicians like Cinematographers, Detective Agencies, Banking, Food Beverage are a few sectors that have seen a real and re- cent spate of women leaders in them, paving the way for other young women to be in- spired, feel supported en- couraged, and follow suit. As a society, we need to aid this shift and movement. On a more immediate, per- sonal note; to my daughter, I promise, both my wife and I the proudest parents, will de- vote ourselves to you, abso- lutely. Because a girl, is, be- yond a shred of doubt, man- kind's saviour. With this, I’d like all the fathers of the world to also join me in cele- brating the girl child, and ensuring that we always, for- ever, recognize their im- mense value, nourish, and cherish it.
