E-Commerce Enablers - Presentation by Marcus Mosen, CCO of Ogone at the NOAH 2012 Conference in San Francisco, Four Seasons Hotel on the 26th of June. www.noah-conference.com
iNET Corporation is an information technology company founded in 2002 in Hanoi, Vietnam that provides mobile value-added services, software development, and IT training. It has over 120 employees and works with all mobile network operators and major mobile phone distributors in Vietnam. iNET offers over 200 entertainment content and service packages to mobile users, as well as IVR systems, call center software, SMS gateways, and mobile applications for industries like transportation, finance, and HR management. The company also operates an IT training academy that provides courses in project management, marketing, and other topics.
Deparz is developing an online platform to connect companies relocating employees abroad with relocation service providers. It aims to improve over the current inefficient process that is time-consuming for customers. Deparz's role as an intermediary allows for benefits like speed, comparing options, and safety. Its marketing plan targets global corporations and large companies with offices in London and Shanghai through direct mailings, ads, and conferences. The implementation plan starts by developing the platform, finding partners, and acquiring customers in London in the first year before expanding to Shanghai.
The document discusses the evolution of digital wallets and mobile payments. It notes that over 50% of online purchases are now made using some type of digital wallet. By 2016, mobile purchases of physical goods are forecasted to rise 50% as more payments are made through mobile handsets. Consumers are more likely to shop at merchants that offer a variety of payment methods. By 2017, it is estimated that 78% of point-of-sale terminals in Europe will be NFC-enabled. One company highlighted in the document connects over 20 banks and has over 100,000 active merchants and 300,000 active wallet customers.
Change is a constant and new payment initiatives are being constantly tested in the market. It is difficult to sift through what’s taking place. Are we are simply experiencing a fast evolution of payment initiation and clearing schemes or is there a revolution of potentially new settlement mechanisms taking place? This webinar looks at different alternative payment models, current non-bank initiatives that are up-ending the landscape, and more – delving into the new players and some of the “hot topic” initiatives that are being vetted in the marketplace.

CommTEL Call Centre platform & software suite (PDF)acuser30
An end-to-end call centre platform with a feature list that enables efficient & effective management of a call center, irrespective of the size - captive call centers for enterprises (5 - 10 seats) to outsourcing companies with huge capacities.
Based on an open architecture that is modular and also supports integration with 3rd party applications like CRMs (Salesforce, Talisma, etc), ERPs (SAP, Siebel), Oracle Forms, ADF and any other web service based application.
Also an investment protector - CommTEL can work on top of your existing legacy PBX or integrate with the same so that your call center and your office extensions (analog) can be part of 1 communication setup. The Evolution of Mobile Money: Retail, the next frontierIsabelle Berner
The document discusses how retail transactions represent the next frontier for mobile money. It outlines the key requirements for mobile payments in retail settings, including security, speed, universal accessibility, and low costs. It then evaluates different technologies like USSD/SMS, NFC, and NFC2.0 against these requirements and identifies shortcomings. The document argues that Near Sound Data Transfer (NSDT) technology meets all the criteria and could enable universal mobile payments for both in-store and e-commerce retail transactions.
This document discusses the evolution of payments, including the history of payment methods from bartering to modern digital wallets. It notes that while checks are declining, debit and credit cards are growing significantly for electronic payments. Mobile wallets are emerging but adoption has been slower than expected due to lack of clear benefits over traditional payment methods. The payments ecosystem will continue to evolve driven by consumers, merchants, financial institutions, and payment networks seeking security, accessibility, low costs, and convenience.

He saw the industry as highly fragmented with too many players and offerings that have become commoditized. Building a truly global digital signage offering is very difficult due to the multitude of vertical markets, regions, and customization needs. Guggenheim believes digital signage companies should focus on either promoting mobile marketing through public displays or informing audiences with simpler, standardized plug-and-play solutions that can be distributed through traditional IT channels.

From Natural Language to Structured Solr Queries using LLMsSease
This talk draws on experimentation to enable AI applications with Solr. One important use case is to use AI for better accessibility and discoverability of the data: while User eXperience techniques, lexical search improvements, and data harmonization can take organizations to a good level of accessibility, a structural (or “cognitive” gap) remains between the data user needs and the data producer constraints.
That is where AI – and most importantly, Natural Language Processing and Large Language Model techniques – could make a difference. This natural language, conversational engine could facilitate access and usage of the data leveraging the semantics of any data source.
The objective of the presentation is to propose a technical approach and a way forward to achieve this goal.
The key concept is to enable users to express their search queries in natural language, which the LLM then enriches, interprets, and translates into structured queries based on the Solr index’s metadata.
This approach leverages the LLM’s ability to understand the nuances of natural language and the structure of documents within Apache Solr.
The LLM acts as an intermediary agent, offering a transparent experience to users automatically and potentially uncovering relevant documents that conventional search methods might overlook. The presentation will include the results of this experimental work, lessons learned, best practices, and the scope of future work that should improve the approach and make it production-ready.

Direct losses from downtime in 1 minute = $5-$10 thousand dollars. Reputation is priceless.
As part of the talk, we will consider the architectural strategies necessary for the development of highly loaded fintech solutions. We will focus on using queues and streaming to efficiently work and manage large amounts of data in real-time and to minimize latency.
We will focus special attention on the architectural patterns used in the design of the fintech system, microservices and event-driven architecture, which ensure scalability, fault tolerance, and consistency of the entire system.

[OReilly Superstream] Occupy the Space: A grassroots guide to engineering (an...Jason Yip
The typical problem in product engineering is not bad strategy, so much as “no strategy”. This leads to confusion, lack of motivation, and incoherent action. The next time you look for a strategy and find an empty space, instead of waiting for it to be filled, I will show you how to fill it in yourself. If you’re wrong, it forces a correction. If you’re right, it helps create focus. I’ll share how I’ve approached this in the past, both what works and lessons for what didn’t work so well.
How information systems are built or acquired puts information, which is what they should be about, in a secondary place. Our language adapted accordingly, and we no longer talk about information systems but applications. Applications evolved in a way to break data into diverse fragments, tightly coupled with applications and expensive to integrate. The result is technical debt, which is re-paid by taking even bigger "loans", resulting in an ever-increasing technical debt. Software engineering and procurement practices work in sync with market forces to maintain this trend. This talk demonstrates how natural this situation is. The question is: can something be done to reverse the trend?
Essentials of Automations: Exploring Attributes & Automation ParametersSafe Software
Building automations in FME Flow can save time, money, and help businesses scale by eliminating data silos and providing data to stakeholders in real-time. One essential component to orchestrating complex automations is the use of attributes & automation parameters (both formerly known as “keys”). In fact, it’s unlikely you’ll ever build an Automation without using these components, but what exactly are they?
Attributes & automation parameters enable the automation author to pass data values from one automation component to the next. During this webinar, our FME Flow Specialists will cover leveraging the three types of these output attributes & parameters in FME Flow: Event, Custom, and Automation. As a bonus, they’ll also be making use of the Split-Merge Block functionality.
You’ll leave this webinar with a better understanding of how to maximize the potential of automations by making use of attributes & automation parameters, with the ultimate goal of setting your enterprise integration workflows up on autopilot.
