• Here we have a game review of sonic the hedgehog done by the completionist and the way this product is similar to my own work is in how
we handle tones of our reviews as the completionist dose the review in a way that a normal reviewer would do it but adds comedic sketches
at certain points to keep the audience interested and wanting to continue watching which is how the tone in my review will be as well done
in the way of a normal review but also makes fun of certain aspect of the games story or gameplay to keep the audience interested and
wanting to continue watching instead of being board and wanting to click away and find something else more interesting to watch.
• Another way this review is similar to my own is also in the use of he thumbnail as we see the videos thumbnail is not art directly from the
people who made the game rather It is instead the completionist uses their own art work as a thumbnail for their video but sticks to the
theme or design of the game being reviewed which is what my video will have as its thumbnail will also be of my own art work showing
what game ill be reviewing as well in my own way.
• The way that this product appeals to its target primary audience which are 16-18 year of the psychographic group of need driven as they
are always exploring and looking for the next game to try out this video thumbnail will make that audience curious about what going on in
the scene and will watch the video to find out and might find a new game to buy and enjoy and for the secondary target audience which are
20 -30 year old men and will instead the complitionist is using that secondary's audiences nostalgia is many in this audience may have
grown up playing games like this back in the day and may be curiouse about weather the game is worth picking up buying and playing again
and reliving that nostalgia meaning the complitionist has succeed in making his target audiences want to watch his videos through the
needs driven group of wanting to buy something new and the use of nostalgia for the secondary audience.

• Here we have a review from the channel halo cannon of the of issue 8 of the comic halo escalation and a way
this product is similar to my own I plan on doing is that instead of doing a live action feed for the host segments
instead halo canon uses the halo 4 game engine and theater mode to record footage of his avatar in the game
and uses those clips for the host segment which I plan on doing in my review but instead using the halo 5 game
engine and machinima mode to record footage of my avatar In the game for the host segments as well.
• Another similarity between my product and the existing product is that at the beginning halo cannon dose a
comedic skit at the beginning of his video review which I plan on doing as well just a few minutes after the
beginning of the review.
• The way this existing product appeals to its target primary audience which are 14-18 year old boys who are of
the psychographic group of belongers with the secondary being 20 – 30 old men in the psychographic group of
belongers related to the halo franchise which they are loyal to so when they see a video related to that
franchise they will immediately want to watch this video as it is related to that franchise that they are brand
loyal to so halo canon himself receives views meaning people watch his through fan loyalty to that brand
meaning halo canon had succeeded in making his target audience want to watch his vidoes.

• Here we have a t-shirt related to the youtube channel viveziepop as the shirt itself shows a character from a upcoming animated video series
hazbin hotel which is being made by that channel which is similar to my own as I will have a t-shirt that shows a character from my series on
the front as well.
• Another way my product and this one are similar is the subversion of expectations as the character on the shirt is a demon which are
considered cruel and evil instead this demon is friendly and look like they want to help people as the phrase on the shirt says inside every
demon is a rainbow but dose stick to one expectation as the character looks like a demon with the expected horns and red eyes which what
mine will have as it show one of my character which is an angel as the opposite of what you would expect from and angle as it shows him
drinking and him giving the middle finger with the phrase on the shirt saying not every angel is perfect but still having the expected halo and
wing that angel are associated with.
• The way that this product appeals to it primary target audience which are 19-28 year old girls as the design it self has a very feminine look to
it with the use of bright colours and rainbow hearts and musicale notes so when that target audience see it they will want to buy it follows a
design criteria they like meaning viveziepop has succeeded in making her target audience want to buy her product.

Here we have the logos of two different channels hiddenXpire and game theory and the way these to existing product are similar to my owns is in there design which is
simple and unique as hiddenXpires logo is a elite skull with two energy swords and a shield behind it with game theory's logo being the old Xbox 360 achievement logo with a
star at the back both simple but memorable which is what my logo is going to be like just a simple design but different enough that it stands out amongst the rest.
Another similarity between my product and the two existing ones is through the use of colour as hiddenXpire logos colours are gold black and grey with gold representing
wealth which could represent is his wealth of halo lore knowledge with the grey used as a great back ground for the logo to contrast with the black used to define certain part
of the logo so they won’t be confused for mess or just random blotches of colour, with game theory's logo sharing black and grey but having different colours like green
yellow and orange with the orange representing enthusiasm which if your look at the many of game theory video has lot of enthusiasm put into them and the yellow
representing friendliness which is another thing you can find in the videos game theory makes, this is what is going to be similar in my logo as the colours I choose to use in
my logo will representing me my channel and the videos I make.

visiting YouTube they may come across his logo and immediately tell just from the logo that his product are to do with a brand they are loyal to and will watch his product to
stay loyal to that product meaning hiddenxperia himself gets audience members that will become loyal to his brand as well, game theory's primary target audience is 8-18
year old boys in the psychographic group of achievers so when they see game theory's logo which is a trophy which can symbolise success so in this group mind if they watch
this channels videos then they themselves will achieve something and succeed as well with the secondary target audience being 8-18 year old girl in the psychographic group
of archivers they will have a similar mind set to the primary audience when they see to logo and will want to watch game theory video so they can achieve and succeed so
game theory as well has succeeded in getting his target audiences to want to watch his product just through his logo alone and their want the achive.

Here we have the logo for the Sega genesis a console which was released back in the 1980s and a way this
product is similar to my own is in the font used as the font used for the logo looks shiny and futuristic which
is what my logo will be as well as the font I will use for the name will be futuristic looking to reflect the
setting for the reviews.
Another way the existing product is similar to my own is in its simplicity as it is the name of the product in a
shiny futuristic font with the company logo at the top which Is what my logo will be like with the logo itself in
the middle and the name above and below.
A way this logo appeal to its primary target audience which were 8-30 males in the psychographic group of
achievers as back them everything in the 80s was action oriented and being fast pasted and moving to the
next level and achieving high scores so when that primary target audience see this logo above the console
box immediately they will think that this console that the logo is above will be able to handle to fast paced
action and achieving high scores and moving to the next level and will want to buy to get that experience, so
the genises logo succeeds in making people want to buy the product it is attached to just by looking like
what achiever would expect from a game console back then
Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
– One common feature I have found within the researched products is that most of them use very bright and vibrant colours as for example
game theory uses green, yellow, grey and black in his logo design as each colour can have a symbolic meaning or connotation as green can
mean safety and stability yellow meaning enthusiasm and positivity grey meaning practical and formal and finally black meaning authority
and discipline this is important to considered as the colour you use can be associated with what you make as game theory's channel is a safe
channel for all ages to visit every video is presented very formally and particle with a sense of discipline but still have enthusiasm in each
video.
– Another common feature I have found within the researched products is that of each product images style as the complitionist video
thumbnail and vivezipops shirt design all have very cartoony and expressive image style whilst halo cannons video and hiddenxperias logo
design have a more realistic image style to them this is also important to consider as your image style can reflect your attitude and tell people
how your videos and merch will be presented as videos and shirt designs with cartoony image styles can seen as having a comedic tone and
not taking things to serious whilst videos and shirt design with a realistic image style will be seen a serious and formal.
– A final common feature I have found within the researched products is the font styles of each product as the completionist uses his own font
style for his channel name but uses the font style of the game he is reviewing for the name of the game, the same is said for halo canon as in
he video thumbnail he uses a the font of the comic he is reviewing on their channel and his channel name uses he font of his channels main
focus the halo series, whereas viveziepop uses a ton of font style on her t-shirt design as her channel isn’t focused on an existing product
rather I focuses on her own original idea, this is important to consider as a font can represented and tell of what your products focuses on as
if you use the font of a existing product then people will tell that is your main focus whilst if you use your own font style or multiple one then
people will be able to tell that your products main focus is its own original idea.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?
– One aspect of the research I will include in my work is on what colours I use in my logo and what there connotations are that could reflect
how people see my channel as a whole through what colours I use.
– Another aspect of my research I will use in my work is the types of image style I will use for each product I makes as I want people to know
my channel is comedic and doesn't take everything to seriously but still be seen as very formal at the same time which is why I have decided
to do a cartoony image style for my video thumbnail and shirt design and using a realistic image style for the video itself and finally have a
mixture of the two image style for my logo design.
– A final aspect of the research I will include in my work is that of the fonts I use so people will know that my channel and products has an
association with the halo series but is it own original thing with it own story but also that the videos I make have a connection to what is
being reviewed which is why I have decided that for my video review thumbnail I will use the font style similar to the game being reviewed
and for my shirt design I will use of font that I feel best represent he character and finally for my logo I will use a font style that has a sci-fi feel
to it so people can tell that there is an association with the halo seires.

50% prefer a more cartoony design on t-shirts.
• What this says about my audience: that there are a half majority that prefer more realistic looking
designs on products whilst the other prefer more cartoony looking designs on product just as well.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: the way my product will appeal to this audience is
because for the shirt design I plan on doing it in a cartoony like style which will appeal to those who
like cartoon designs on products.

• Observation: 100% people think that a for a youtube logo to be iconic and memorable it need a
simple design and to use bright colours to make it stand out amongst the rest.
• What this says about my audience: that my audience prefers designs that are simple and easy to
under stand with their colours being bright rather than dark colours and complex designs.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: the way my product will appeal to this audience is
that when I make my logo it will have a simple and easy to understand design and its colour scheme
will use bright colours.

• Observation: that 90% of people I asked say that my review need to have facts opinions and images
to show people if the game is worth buying or not with 10% saying they didn’t know.
• What this says about my audience: that my audience expect a review to give them a good example
of if a game is worth buying or not and spend it on another game worth buying.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: the way my product will appeal to this audience is
to make sure my review has fact about the game my opinions images or footage to show how it
looks to other all coming together to make a product someone will watch to see if the game that
review is doing is worth buying.

• Observation: that 60% of people think that t-shirt is a better piece of merchandise whilst 30% of
people think both shirt and poster are just as good as each other with only a small majority of 10%
think posters make better pieces of merchandise.
• What this says about my audience: that most of my audience believes that t-shirts are the better
form of merchandise over poster's.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: the way my product will appeal to this audience is
by focusing more on a design for a t-shirt rather than a poster so I can sell a more preferable to my
audience.

• Observation: an observation I can get from this is that 60% people prefer a review of a product to
be both comedic and informative at the same time whilst 40% believe that it should be strictly
professional.
• What this says about my audience: what these answers tell me about my audience is that most of
my audience prefer a review of something to be both comedic but also professional enough so it
gives the audience a good perspective if the product is worth buying or not.
• How will your product appeal to this audience: the way my product will appeal to my audience is
that when I do the review of a game I choose I will make sure to add comedic line to the script and
then record those and put those jokes in the review to appeal to that audience that enjoys those
the reviews.

• Observation: an observation I can get from these answers is that 80% of people
think a logo needs to use bright colours to stand out more to people whilst 20%
think a logo needs to use darker colours to stand out more to people.

to be use in a logo.

this audience is that when I make the logo I will use bright colours in it to appeal to
those people that like to have bright colour in a logo.

on a white shirt whilst 20% believe that a design on a shirt stand out more on a black and 10%
believe that a design would look better on a grey shirt.

that when I have finished the design to be placed on a t-shirt a will have the design on a white shirt
to appeal to those people that believe a design stands out more o a white shirt.

review give the basic to the viewer and that my design is
funny and cool enough to wear and to keep my logo simple

the game to be in the review and that the design for the t-shirt
needs to be simple and different enough to stand on its own
• What this says about my audience: that they want a video that
gives them the basics on wither a game is good enough to buy or
not and that they want a logo that is up against a dark coloured
background and use light colour in its design.

will appeal to this audience is with my review giving the wanted
information on wither a game is good or not its story and how it
works but also my design needs to be on a shirt and finally when I
do my logo it need to use bright colour in its design but also be

so these people can show other their brand loyalty which is what my logo will
be simple but stand out from the rest.

Middle class • The way my content will appeal to this audience is because since the video I am
making is a YouTube one rather than a movie or television show it free to watch
and enjoy so that will appeal to anyone in the middle class as they don’t have to
fork out any money just to enjoy something but also the shirts that I sell will be
a reasonable and affordable price for anyone in that class that may want to use
some money to get some merchandise.

weaknesses of each method
– Product Research
• For this one I looked at a existing product for each piece of media I was going to produce like a game review t-shirt design
to promote the channel outside of YouTube and a YouTube logo with the strengths of this research being that 1, there
was plenty of inspiration the draw from, 2 they were easy to analyse and understand what worked and what didn’t work,
however a weakness of this research was that I only looked at one example for each when looking at multiple one of each
type of media product would give me a better understanding of what I should and shouldn’t take from theses videos and
put them in my own work
– Questionnaires
• For this type of research I wrote down ten question that relates to the three media product I plan on making and had ten
people to answer them to make sure I had a wide verity of answers to draw from and how my work should be presented
an advantage of this type of research is that you get a lot of answers to draw from meaning you have a good
understanding of what to do and what not to do when making your product another advantage is that it allows you to ask
other if an idea you have that is different form other product idea may work or not, however a disadvantage of this type
of research is that some question you ask may be misinterpreted or maybe hard to answer so some answers you get can
be invalid and not useful
– Interviews
for this type of research I took some questions from my questionnaire and added more detail to
them and asked these question to two people I interviewed. An advantage of this is that there is less of a
chance for a question to be misunderstood meaning less invalid answers to draw form when making your
product, another advantage is that the answers you are given are more detailed so you know of what to
use and put in your own product. However a disadvantage of this type of research is that less people are
asked meaning your only given a limited amount of information of what some people like or dislike.

– What sort of a response did you get? I got a lot of helpful response from my
questionnaire and interview which were how an inter views should be set how
a logo should look and coloured and also how to promote merchandise and
how its should be designed.
– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage
a way I distributed my survey is through social media like Facebook and through
the use of a class mate who gave it to some people he knows to answer my
questionaries' and an advantage of this is that is give me plenty of Reponses to
use a inspiration and guidance of how my work should look and presented,
however a disadvantage is that since there are so many Reponses some have to
be thrown out and not used but also meaning that I might be using answer from
a small majority that a large amount of people may not enjoy.

The way that these product appeal to their primary target audience which are 15-18 boys in psychographic group of belongers with the secondary being 20-30 year old men in the belonger psychographic group as well for hiddenxpire is that his product relate to another brand halo that those in his audience may be loyal to so when someone is visiting YouTube they may come across his logo and immediately tell just from the logo that his product are to do with a brand they are loyal to and will watch his product to stay loyal to that product meaning hiddenxperia himself gets audience members that will become loyal to his brand as well, game theory's primary target audience is 8-18 year old boys in the psychographic group of achievers so when they see game theory's logo which is a trophy which can symbolise success so in this group mind if they watch this channels videos then they themselves will achieve something and succeed as well with the secondary target audience being 8-18 year old girl in the psychographic group of archivers they will have a similar mind set to the primary audience when they see to logo and will want to watch game theory video so they can achieve and succeed so game theory as well has succeeded in getting his target audiences to want to watch his product just through his logo alone and their want the achive.     Research Analysis • Whatcommon features do the researched products have? – One common feature I have found within the researched products is that most of them use very bright and vibrant colours as for example game theory uses green, yellow, grey and black in his logo design as each colour can have a symbolic meaning or connotation as green can mean safety and stability yellow meaning enthusiasm and positivity grey meaning practical and formal and finally black meaning authority and discipline this is important to considered as the colour you use can be associated with what you make as game theory's channel is a safe channel for all ages to visit every video is presented very formally and particle with a sense of discipline but still have enthusiasm in each video. – Another common feature I have found within the researched products is that of each product images style as the complitionist video thumbnail and vivezipops shirt design all have very cartoony and expressive image style whilst halo cannons video and hiddenxperias logo design have a more realistic image style to them this is also important to consider as your image style can reflect your attitude and tell people how your videos and merch will be presented as videos and shirt designs with cartoony image styles can seen as having a comedic tone and not taking things to serious whilst videos and shirt design with a realistic image style will be seen a serious and formal. – A final common feature I have found within the researched products is the font styles of each product as the completionist uses his own font style for his channel name but uses the font style of the game he is reviewing for the name of the game, the same is said for halo canon as in he video thumbnail he uses a the font of the comic he is reviewing on their channel and his channel name uses he font of his channels main focus the halo series, whereas viveziepop uses a ton of font style on her t-shirt design as her channel isn’t focused on an existing product rather I focuses on her own original idea, this is important to consider as a font can represented and tell of what your products focuses on as if you use the font of a existing product then people will tell that is your main focus whilst if you use your own font style or multiple one then people will be able to tell that your products main focus is its own original idea. • What aspects of the research will you include within your on work? – One aspect of the research I will include in my work is on what colours I use in my logo and what there connotations are that could reflect how people see my channel as a whole through what colours I use. – Another aspect of my research I will use in my work is the types of image style I will use for each product I makes as I want people to know my channel is comedic and doesn't take everything to seriously but still be seen as very formal at the same time which is why I have decided to do a cartoony image style for my video thumbnail and shirt design and using a realistic image style for the video itself and finally have a mixture of the two image style for my logo design. – A final aspect of the research I will include in my work is that of the fonts I use so people will know that my channel and products has an association with the halo series but is it own original thing with it own story but also that the videos I make have a connection to what is being reviewed which is why I have decided that for my video review thumbnail I will use the font style similar to the game being reviewed and for my shirt design I will use of font that I feel best represent he character and finally for my logo I will use a font style that has a sci-fi feel to it so people can tell that there is an association with the halo seires.

Gender Prime men Sec women • A way my content will appeal to both my primary and secondary audience is through the use of profanity on the shirt which most men and some women may enjoy, another way that my content will appeal to my audience is the genre of game I am reviewing as the game itself is an action adventure platformer which is a genre of game that both men and women can enjoy Psychographic belongers • The way my content will appeal this audience is through the design of my channel logo as belongers are people that are very loyal to a brand they like and will rarely buy another brand of product and the reason why for this when it come to YouTube it is the logo which needs to be simple enough and fits with the theme of that channel but different enough that it stands out from the rest so these people can show other their brand loyalty which is what my logo will be simple but stand out from the rest. Social Status Middle class • The way my content will appeal to this audience is because since the video I am making is a YouTube one rather than a movie or television show it free to watch and enjoy so that will appeal to anyone in the middle class as they don’t have to fork out any money just to enjoy something but also the shirts that I sell will be a reasonable and affordable price for anyone in that class that may want to use some money to get some merchandise.

    Research Evaluation • Givean overview of how you conducted your research. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each method – Product Research • For this one I looked at a existing product for each piece of media I was going to produce like a game review t-shirt design to promote the channel outside of YouTube and a YouTube logo with the strengths of this research being that 1, there was plenty of inspiration the draw from, 2 they were easy to analyse and understand what worked and what didn’t work, however a weakness of this research was that I only looked at one example for each when looking at multiple one of each type of media product would give me a better understanding of what I should and shouldn’t take from theses videos and put them in my own work – Questionnaires • For this type of research I wrote down ten question that relates to the three media product I plan on making and had ten people to answer them to make sure I had a wide verity of answers to draw from and how my work should be presented an advantage of this type of research is that you get a lot of answers to draw from meaning you have a good understanding of what to do and what not to do when making your product another advantage is that it allows you to ask other if an idea you have that is different form other product idea may work or not, however a disadvantage of this type of research is that some question you ask may be misinterpreted or maybe hard to answer so some answers you get can be invalid and not useful – Interviews for this type of research I took some questions from my questionnaire and added more detail to them and asked these question to two people I interviewed. An advantage of this is that there is less of a chance for a question to be misunderstood meaning less invalid answers to draw form when making your product, another advantage is that the answers you are given are more detailed so you know of what to use and put in your own product. However a disadvantage of this type of research is that less people are asked meaning your only given a limited amount of information of what some people like or dislike.

I got a lot of helpful response from my questionnaire and interview which were how an inter views should be set how a logo should look and coloured and also how to promote merchandise and how its should be designed. – How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage a way I distributed my survey is through social media like Facebook and through the use of a class mate who gave it to some people he knows to answer my questionaries' and an advantage of this is that is give me plenty of Reponses to use a inspiration and guidance of how my work should look and presented, however a disadvantage is that since there are so many Reponses some have to be thrown out and not used but also meaning that I might be using answer from a small majority that a large amount of people may not enjoy.
