- 2. 電車の中吊り広告を英訳する • 実践のポイント • 実際の中吊り広告を使えば最新の話題を扱えるので、学習者の興味・関心 が高まる。 •複数の中吊り広告を準備し、グループごとに割り振るとよい。 • 一つの中吊り広告は複数の記事の見出しと簡単な概要の集合であるため、 グループ内で割り振れば、一人一人の担当箇所が明確になる。 • オリジナル広告の配置、スペースを維持して英語にする。 • 完成した英訳版の中吊り広告を大きめの紙に印刷して、授業中に発表する とよい。 • 週刊の雑誌であれば毎週新しい中吊り広告が出るので、毎週行ってもよい。

- 5. LINEで英語でやりとりさせる • 実践のポイント • LINEは、現在の学生の多くにとって、携帯メールを抜き、最も利用されるコ ミュニケーションツールになってきた。 •コミュニティを作れば、３名以上のやりとりも可能である。 • インスタントメッセンジャー、チャットのようなコミュニケーションである。 • 文字のコミュニケーションではあるが、会話のようなスピードが求められる （やりとりが遅いと違和感を感じる）。 • 一回の送信メッセージは、メールに比べると短い。 • 英語を使ったときに、日本語のときのようなスピードでやりとりができること が目標となる。

- 8. 翻訳ソフトで機械翻訳した英語を校正させる • 実践のポイント • 翻訳ソフト（インターネット上の自動翻訳サービスも含む）を使った日本語か ら英語への翻訳原稿を校正させる。 •学生自身の作成した日本語の原稿があればより良い。なぜなら、機械翻訳 で正しい英語に近づけるためには、どのような日本語の文章が必要かにつ いても学べるからである。 • 正しい英語を書くことは英語の授業でよく行われるが、“変な”英語を修正す ることは授業中に取り入れられてこなかった。 • 翻訳ソフトは便利である。しかし、翻訳後の校正、修正も必要である。すなわ ち、翻訳ソフトを便利に使いこなすための力も身に付けられる。
