Teratomas are rare tumors composed of multiple tissue types that are sometimes found in newborn babies. This study aims to determine if there is a common link between Puerto Rican mothers of babies born with congenital teratomas. The methodology will involve obtaining informed consent from these mothers and having them fill out daily forms, as well as using other organisms in further experiments. The goal is to help prevent congenital teratomas by finding ways to better understand their development.

Thus, one of the most significant things we can do when caring for these complex patients is to offer them emotional support and accurate information. As more work is done in this emerging area of reproductive science, we will be able to shed more light on this complex problem.

The number of evidence-based practices available for guidance is limited. This confluence of factors presents a challenge for clinicians. However, in studies of interventions aimed at reducing rates of miscarriage in women with otherwise unexplained RPL, control groups experience a live birth rate of up to 87% with no intervention. Thus, one of the most significant things we can do when caring for these complex patients is to offer them emotional support and accurate information. As more work is done in this emerging area of reproductive science, we will be able to shed more light on this complex problem.

Bedsharing And Maternal Smoking In A Population Based Survey Of New Mothers
This study examined the relationship between maternal smoking and bedsharing using data from the Oregon Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System survey of 1867 new mothers. The study found that bedsharing was common in Oregon, with 35.2% of mothers reporting frequent bedsharing and an additional 41.4% sometimes bedsharing. There was no significant association found between smoking (either prenatal or postnatal) and bedsharing for any racial/ethnic group. Both smoking and nonsmoking mothers were equally likely to bedshare. The results suggest the message that smoking mothers should avoid bedsharing is not being effectively communicated. More effort is needed to inform smoking mothers of the risks of mixing bedsharing and smoking.

Teratogens can be defined as any agent that can be disturb the development of an embryo or fetus. This may cause a birth defect in a child or halt the pregnancy outright. Teratogen are broken into classes that includes: radiation, maternal infections, chemicals and drugs. It tends to harm the prenatal brain, affecting the future child’s intellectual and emotional functioning.
Effects of Teratogens
While all teratogens increase the threat of harm to the development of a child, none always cause damage. The critical impact depends on the complex interchange of numerous factors. These are factors are timing, exposure and genetic variability. Timing is a critical factor doing the pregnancy when teratogen can be exposed to the fetus. Some teratogen cause damage only in a specific days or weeks while others are harmful doing any time of the pregnancy. Exposure is another effect that is harmful to the pregnancy due to the development of organism. Genetic variability is another factor that determines whether a specific teratogen will be harmful is the make-up of developing organism having and not having certain genes may make the developing child more susceptible to teratogens.
Ways to Avoid Teratogens
It’s imperative that pregnant moms educate themselves on teratogens and importance of avoiding things that cause harm to their body. The only safe option of action is to avoid the risk of mothers being exposed to teratogens during pregnancy is to avoid taking any type of medication if possible, being exposed to excessive heat, herbal treatments, children with rashes, fever and runny nose, alcohol, tobacco, lead & radiation.

Cellulose fibers were prepared through electrospinning of cellulose acetate and subsequent deacetylation. The fibers were characterized through SEM, FTIR, and porosity measurements. FTIR showed the absence of acetyl peaks, indicating cellulose regeneration from cellulose acetate. SEM showed the fibers retained a fibrous structure after deacetylation. Reflection ecosystems summer
Puerto Rico has incredible biodiversity despite its small size, as reflected in El Bosque Seco de Guánica and El Bosque Nacional del Caribe, el Yunque forests. Though only 200km apart, the distinct ecosystems of the dry forest and pluvial forest give visitors a sense of traveling between countries. Both forests impress with their diverse flora and fauna that have uniquely adapted to survive in their environments, making them ideal places to study evolution, natural selection, and adaptability. The author was inspired to love and appreciate Puerto Rico more after visiting these two gifts of nature and desires to study them further, as one can only love what is known.

This review paper analyzes studies on valganciclovir and ganciclovir as treatments for cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection. The paper compares variables across three studies, including treatment length, dosage, sample size, and effectiveness. It finds that valganciclovir is generally the most effective treatment, and that combining oral valganciclovir with intravenous ganciclovir yields the best results. - 4. Introduction Congenital teratomas: -Correspond to 3% of all teratomas -Present in one of approximately 200, 000 to 400,000 of all of the living borne babies
- 7. Hypothesis • Question of the investigation –Is there a common link between the mothers of children born with prenatal teratomas?
- 8. Hypothesis There is a common denominator between the Puerto Rican mothers of babies born with congenital teratomas.
- 9. Methodology • Subject: Puerto Rican mothers of babies born with congenital teratomas. • Woman that had babies, which do not have teratomas, will also be part of this investigation serving as a control group.
- 10. Methodology • The women will be handed a sheet of Informed Consent • They will also be given a form to fill daily • Further experiments with other organisms
- 11. Conclusion Congenital teratomas, although rare, are a sad and destructive situation for babies and their mothers. This investigation has as an objective to find tools for further investigations. Many other investigations may be conducted in order to find a way to prevent completely the development of congenital teratomas.
