Delaine M. Zayas-Bazán Burgos is a junior studying biology at the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey. She aims to complete her bachelor's degree in natural sciences with a major in biology and then pursue a doctorate in cellular development. Delaine has gained research experience through programs such as RISE and an REU, publishing works on topics such as congenital teratomas and the treatment of cytomegalovirus. She also has teaching experience as a tutor and lab assistant. Delaine's skills include fluency in English and Spanish as well as strong oral and written communication abilities from presenting at conferences and authoring proposals and papers.
