WPS Update details – Windows Patch Source


  Read this if you use BBCA patch versions 8.0.00, 8.1.01,
  8.2.00, and 8.2.01 as you must apply a hot fix to continue patching.

  Error: Windows Patch Source failed to update the repository with the latest
  downloaded Shavlik XML file.

  Cause: Shavlik has upgraded the certificates, if you are not getting new patches you
  need to upgrade WPS.

JVM update details


  BBCA is using JRE 1.6 now, Moving to JRE 1.7
  Blocker - application packages must be upgraded on a 1.7 base JRE system
  Option 1 - update all channels with auto upgrader channel (set source/dest)
  Option 2 - explain more here please?
  Tuners before 8.2.00 or before will be unaffected?
  Defect #

  Nitish -
  I want to confirm you all that we have addressed this in infrastructure Service
  itself. Customers don’t have to upgrade packages for 8.2.02 tuner.

  So to summarize, A customer doesn’t have to worry about package upgrades
  when they move to 8.2.02. Infrastructure Service is capable of hosting any older
  package version over 1.7 JRE.

Patch Dashboard demo / feedback




 Patch Dashboard Features demo, below are the feedbacks that are received from customers
 end on the December 2012 CMUG call.

 a) Need to add “My Severity” (Customer Severity) option in dashboard filter UI drop-down.
 b) Need to show filter UI components based on the User Role.
 c) In Host Status compliance report, need to show the reason for status “Tried and failed” and “Reboot
 Pending” .
     (i.e. Need to capture Error Code and Error Description details for failed patches)
 d) Patch Deployments - Ageing Report Chart, Interval days needs to be configurable (Because Patch
 Deployments in production will be carried out after seeing success ratio in Lab environment).
 e) In PDB tabular reports, they have expected Export CSV. (This was already planned and decided
 to take it in next release).
