Asia Pacific Summit
Dear Colleague,
I’m really pleased to work with Oil & Gas IQ on the
development of the 2013 FLNG Asia Pacific Summit in
Korea.
It’s been a busy year for everyone in the FLNG space;
within Shell there’s been a focus on replicating scaled
versions of our revolutionary mammoth platform
technology. And I know many companies are excited
by the opportunities in small and mid-scaled
Floating LNG projects.
JV’s and collaborative partnerships are also on
the rise across our industry. There are exciting
developments within Papa New Guinea from Worley
Parsons, InterOil and Exxon Mobil and I’m delighted
to announce that for the first time in Korea we
have Senior Representatives from all three of these
companies joining us to discuss changes in that
market.
On the commercial side of our business, this year has
seen tectonic shifts occurring in world markets;
especially around LNG demand and trade flows.
n Will the opening up of a Japanese LNG exchange
impact the lucrative value of LNG?
n Will increasing North American gas exports dilute
Australia’s share of the Asian Market?
n Will Russian and African LNG projects affect local
opportunities and pricing?
All these questions and many more we’ll address
during this event.
Plus as major Floating LNG projects near pre-
operational delivery, we need to examine the
operational and technical challenges of integrating
topsides, hulls, offloading, storage and transportation
measures. This year these topics have been presented
in tailored workshop formats to provide you with the
depth that you need to resolve the issues.
As the year comes to a close there is no better time to
examine all these commercial and technical issues.
This year we’ve timed the conference to follow the
World Energy Congress so that delegates can access
coverage on energy demand shifts, as well hear first-
hand insights into how the scaling and replicating of
large Floating LNG design is forever changing the face
of our business.
I hope you’ll agree that this is a must attend event
for all key decision makers keen to leverage these
commercial opportunities to meet the growing thirst
for cheaper, cleaner energy.
I look forward to meeting you in this October in Korea!

INDUSTRY NEWS
JAPAN IS STARTING THE WORLD-FIRST LNG FUTURES
WITHIN 2 YEARS
The country is the world’s largest LNG importer. Those behind the push for the
contract, which includes utility companies, trading houses and government
officials, will aim to list the dollar-denominated futures on the Tokyo
Commodity Exchange by March 2015…the listing…would help set up a global
market for the increasingly popular commodity.
2 April 2013, www.BusinessWeek.com
The Institute of Energy Economics, Japan will discuss the implications and
impacts of this on Day 1, 13:20
INTEROIL & EXXON DISCUSS PNG ASSETS
Exxon Mobil Corp is in exclusive talks with InterOil Corp to invest in the latter’s
natural gas assets in Papua New Guinea, a move that could cement the …
country’s position as a new significant energy exporter… InterOil said it is
discussing whether gas from its Elk and Antelope fields would support an
expansion of the PNG LNG project or a new gas-export facility…Unlike rival LNG
suppliers in the Middle East, shipments to Asia from Papua New Guinea won’t
pass through the Malacca Strait choke point near Singapore, increasing its appeal
to investors. Shipping costs are also lower.

Phil Mulacek of InterOil will be interviewed on the latest developments on the
PNG Floating LNG project on Day 1, 15:00
A MAJOR MILESTONE IN TAMAR’S Floating LNG PROJECT
DEVELOPMENT
A cost sharing agreement (CSA) has been executed between Levant LNG Marketing,
a subsidiary of Pangea LNG BV and Tamar Partners. This major milestone
demonstrates the continuing progress toward the export of LNG from the Tamar and
Dalit fields in the Eastern Mediterranean, Israel.

HONEYWELL AND PETRONAS, COLLABORATING WITH
TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS FOR Floating LNG
Honeywell subsidiary UOP will share some of its gas purification secrets with
Malaysian state-owned major Petronas as the two companies collaborate to
streamline Floating LNG processing technology and produce the next generation
of FLNG equipment to remove contaminants from gas before it is liquefied – an
important factor for FLNG. The technology will be used for Petronas’ first FLNG
project, to be moored at the Kanowit gas field in Sarawak with the aim for a late
2015 start-up.

EXMAR LAUNCHES FLRSU TO EXPLOIT STRANDED GAS
OFFSHORE COLOMBIA
Exmar NV plans to invest $300 million on the first-ever Floating liquefacation,
re-gasification and storage unit (FLSRU) in an effort to develop stranded gas
worldwide…We are the first one to do re-gasification onboard a ship and the first
one to do ship-to-ship transfer of LNG. This small-scale project is set to correct the
imbalance in LNG trade both in price and supply. The underlying risk sharing pact
and technological collaboration is between 3 parties Launched on 1 June 2013,
the project is being built in Nantong, China.

WORKSHOP B: 14.00-17.00
A comprehensive approach to Floating
LNG docking and mooring systems
The complexity of Floating LNG projects requires the need to
re-examine and integrate docking, mooring and fendering
solutions in order to meet the requirements of all stakeholders
and provide the most safe, efficient and seamless operations.
Combining elements of conventional jetty mooring, docking,
offshore ship-to-ship (STS) mooring systems when more than
two entities are required to interface with each other, means
that systems integration becomes more complex and critical.
In the complex case of Floating LNG mooring configurations, a
comprehensive overview is essential to incorporate, align and
co-ordinate the design requirements of all stakeholders.
What will be covered?
• A technical discussion regarding the importance a
comprehensive approach
• Defining the unique challenges of Floating LNG mooring when
each Floating LNG project tends to involve different berthing
configurations
• The importance of an integrated approach i.e. Jetty/FSRU/ LNGC
• The missing link between the Floating LNG and the Jetty from
a mooring and berthing perspective
• Designing safe and efficient mooring solutions
• Case analysis
How will you benefit?
Attend this workshop and take away:
• Tools to map out the data needed to monitor the 3 components
of Jetty, docking and offshore mooring systems
• System analysis strategies to enable the design integration of
the Jetty, FSRU and LNGC
• Strategies to pre-empt potential operational design problems
• Possible solutions in meet all stakeholders and provide the
most safe, efficient and integrated operations.

MASTERCLASS: 09.00-17.00
Commercialising Small and Mid-Scale
Floating LNG
The mammoth Floating LNG projects of Shell, Exxon and
Woodside are now moving from design concept to operational
reality. And with strategies now in place to replicate the facilities
in scaled or hybrid forms, these market leaders have opened
up a commercial opportunity to potentially monetize up to 800
stranded reserves.
There is rapidly growing need for financiers, investors and
Floating LNG developers to understand the business models
required to assess these commercial opportunities. Plus the
challenges and strategies involved in monetizing offshore gas
reserves of various sizes using scaled versions of the mammoth
designs.
What will be covered?
• Evaluating business models for small to mid-scale Floating LNG
development
• Traditional FPSO versus Floating LNG contract methods
• Cost-benefit analysis of monetizing small to mid-scale gas
reserves
• The commercial issues involved in small to mid-scale Floating
LNG project development
• Managing internal and external stakeholders in the Floating
LNG project lifecycle
How will you benefit? Attend this masterclass and:
• Gain a clearer understanding of appropriate business models
for scaled structures and the risks associated with their
development
• Receive a unique perspective on the costs and benefits of
monetizing smaller reserves using revolutionary scaled
technology
• Drill down to the detail of the common commercial challenges
that arise during project development phases
• Have an understanding of strategies you can use to effectively
manage the unique mix of stakeholders in the project lifecycle
