This study surveyed medical students in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of their education to understand their opinions and experiences of case-based learning (CBL). The majority of students agreed that CBL adequately prepared them for learning, helped them understand course material, and provided benefits from group interaction. However, some students felt CBL sessions could be improved by providing more guidance from facilitators, better defining learning objectives, and reducing the length of introductory sessions which sometimes lacked participation from all students. Both phases of students highlighted similar benefits and potential areas of improvement for CBL, suggesting it is an effective learning method but could be enhanced through addressing students' feedback.
