requirements and assumed to have sufficient background experience of high-level
engagement activities like recognizing, relating, applying, generating, reflecting and
theorizing issues. It is an ultimate period in our academic life when we feel confident

The research report (article, thesis) parallels the plan, however, may not contain all of the plan’s elements. Following can be found a typical research plan. 1. Introduction: Discusses the background (history) of the problem, need, or plan for change. The researcher’s knowledge / experience with key concepts may be augmented with literature reviews. Some theoretical information may be helpful in understanding the main concept (research focus). Contextual information relevant to the research focus should be discovered / discussed. 2. Problem Statement: Specification of the exact problem (research focus) to be studied. Provides definition and structure to the research focus. 3. Formulating research questions: The specific question to be addressed, whether quantitative or qualitative. 4. Review of literature: Provides a demonstration of researcher’s information base; includes identification of attributes (characteristics or variables) related to the research focus. Previous research this is similar to the study underway and/or methods being used to address the research questions. 2 5. Conceptual model of the research plan related to the specific objectives and/or hypothesis being addressed. 6. Discussion of the type of research: quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods model: Descriptions of the variables, their relationships and logical connections. 7. Operational definitions of terms as related to research questions. 8. Assumptions and contingencies of the study design. 9. Methodology: Scope and limitations: Defining boundaries of the study (breadth and depth) Setting – Context Time frame Units of analysis Type of organization Contextual issues a.
