Sara Bareilles Brave
Music Video Analysis I think there s so much honor and integrity and beauty in being able to be who
you are, Sara Bareilles stated to The Advocate, in 2013. Sara Bareilles pop single sensation Brave
illustrates my perspective on a combination of issues from the Third Wave Manifesta that seems
particularly relevant to me. The most relevant for me was number six that was stated, To support and
increase the visibility and power of lesbians and bisexual women in the feminist movement, in high
schools, colleges, and the workplace. To recognize that queer women have always been at the
forefront of the feminist movement, and that there is nothing to be gained and much to be lost by
downplaying their history, whether inadvertently or actively. I saw aspects of supporting and
encouraging LGBT in the music video Brave that illustrates my perspective on the topic stated. ...

The lyrics in the song Say what you wanna say. And let the words fall out. Honestly I wanna see you
be brave is a push for support and an increase in the visibility and power for the LGBT community. In
the video it shows encouragement in several places that people might feel the least inspired to have
courage and not be who they want to be. Such as a gym, the mall, and in a school setting. Co writer,
Jack Antonoff, stated I ll always internalize it as a real civil rights anthem at a time when there are no
civil rights anthems and there s a giant need for them. (Peeples,

American Christianity Democratized
How was American Christianity democratized during this period, and how else was the United States
democratized? The Second Great Awakening commenced with a Protestant revival movement during
the early beginning around 1790, the movement gained momentum through 1820s. The later
emergence of the Transcendentalists movement emerged, rooted by their religious philosophy
extended from more than a protestant movement but a social and political one, linked far back in
American history .Religious movements anticipated the coming of Christ and the need to change
moral values. Printing inked how ordinary Americans distrusted leaders and defend the right to shape
their own faith and submit to leaders of their own choosing (Hatch).Printing was the primary driver of
a chain of events that would lead to Christian democratization ,and the increasing growth of Methodist
, Baptist and later transcendentalist movement between Americans . The separation of church and
politics stirred many issues of authority, organization and leadership, Americans had sentimental
argued that their spiritual beliefs should not be morally tied into their political views using pamphlets,
tracts, booklets, journals and newspapers .The early democratization of christianity changed three
aspects of religion; First, it denied the class structure that set clergy as exceptional ,movements lead
by men like Wesley and Asbury, empowered ordinary people by understand their spiritual state rather

We Must Keep Daniel Defoe in the Literary Cannon
Daniel Defoe born in or around 1660 experienced the most complex disastrous events in England
before he was seven. In 1664 a Dutch fleet attacked London, in 1665 the plague took seventy thousand
lives and in 1666 the great fire destroyed Defoe s neighborhood expect for three houses, one being his.
Born to a family of dissenters a class of people who refused to conform to the Church of England,
Defoe was hindered with obstacles from the start. Receiving his education from a dissenter s school
and as West indicates: barred from Oxford and Cambridge and instead received three years of higher
education under the Reverend Charles Morton, a future vice president of Harvard University who
drilled his pupils in science, modern tongues, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While serving as a Whig member (Whig later called the Liberal party), according to Clark he is said to
have been the author of 4 anonymous pamphlets which are credited for swaying the perception of the
Whig political ideology after the 1688 Revolution. Using his writing talents Defoe persuaded the King
to adopt his view of progress and his rationale of trade and exchange, his interpretations of the biblical
history. He contributed to England s transition of barbarous society into one of politeness. As a truly
universal writer, Defoe also had his hand in the secular beliefs. It is said that Robinson Crusoe has a
religious undertone message. In that, Robinson repented his sin of disobeying his father. Many of
Defoe works in 1726 related to his religious side. A few of these writings: The Political History of the
Devil. This is a curious book, partly explanatory of Defoe s ideas on morality, and partly belonging to
a series of demonological works which he wrote, and of which the chief others are A System of Magic
(1726), and An Essay on the History of Apparitions (1728), issued the year before under another title.
In all these works his treatment is on the whole rational and sensible; but in The History of the Devil
he is somewhat hampered by an insufficiently worked out theory as to the nature and personal
existence of his hero,

Essay about Comparing The Epic of Gilgamesh with The Odyssey
The Epic of Gilgamesh and The Odyssey both are held in high respect by literature analysts and
historians alike for the characterization of the hero and his companion, the imagery brought to mind
when one of them is read, and the impressive length in relation to the time period it was written in.
The similarities that these two epics share do not end with only those three; in fact, the comparability
of these works extend to even the information on the author and the archetypes used. However, The
Odyssey and The Epic of Gilgamesh contrast from one another in their writing styles, character
details, and main ideas. Both epics weave together a story of a lost man who must find his way, but the
path of their stories contrast from one another. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In these two epics, the major themes are the concept of good versus evil and the conflicts of man
versus man, man versus self, and man versus nature. In The Epic of Gilgamesh, the King of Uruk
represented good while Humbaba and the snake represented evil. Compared to The Odyssey, the
Sumerian epic consists of a smaller representation for both good and evil. Odysseus represented good,
but so does his son, Athena, and many of the gods that help him. Antinous, the rest of the suitors,
Polyphemus, Circe, as well as many others were on the evil side of the equation for this epic. The
concept of good versus evil coincides with the conflict of both man versus man and man versus self.
Odysseus and Gilgamesh both engaged in both types of conflict, but Gilgamesh experienced more of
the latter conflict while Odysseus experienced more of the former. Odysseus s adventures involved
more of man versus man conflicts because of how often he had to fight a physical being. For example,
Odysseus and his men blinded Polyphemus by ramming a hot spear deep into his [Polyphemus] crater
eye (qtd. in Prentice Hall Lit. 992). In addition, Odysseus and his son, Telemachus, had to fight off
more than a hundred suitors near the end of the epic. Gilgamesh had plenty of experiences with man
versus man conflict, such as his first fight with Enkidu, his fight with Humbaba, as well as his
arguments with the gods. However, the man versus self conflict seemed

Citigroup and Subprime Lending Case Study
Citigroup and Subprime Lending Unit 7 Case Study Pg 714 716 1. Are there moral concerns
associated with subprime lending? Are those moral concerns based on utilitarianism, rights, or justice
considerations? Before we discuss the first question let s get a working description of what subprime
leaning is. A subprime lender is financial entity that has an inclination to lend to consumers that are
not qualified for traditional loans due to their poor credit status and history of repayment difficulties.
Lending to subprime candidates helped lead to secondary mortgage market issue sin 2008 ( Subprime

Basic liberties such as freedom of speech and rights such as equal opportunity are fundamental
concepts that express consideration of freedom, autonomy and basic equality. Rights may be derived
from moral principles or may be established through political choice. Rights are often categorized as
positive or negative (Baron, 2010). In this case I would say that some basic rights of the consumers
may have been violated by CitiFinancial because they were not completely up front about the small
print that told the true story about the consolidation loans. Other moral philosophies emphasize
justice, which requires comparisons of situations of individuals. Justice theories are concerned with
how different individuals stand relative to each other on dimensions including, but not limited to,
rights, liberties and consequences. The three principal categories of justice theories are distributive,
compensatory and retributive. Distributive justice is concerned with providing incentives to contribute
to well being in society and with providing a fair and just distribution of the rewards of those
contributions. Compensatory justice is concerned with determining how individuals should be
compensated for the harm done by others. Retributive justice is concerned with punishment of actions
that are contrary to a moral rule or societal well being. Retributive justice may be used to justify
deterring harmful actions (Baron, 2010).

representative of the Philippines to Taiwan, Cuba, and China. Starting as a proofreader for the
Philippines Free Press, Joaquin rose to contributing editor and essayist under the nom de plume
Quijano de Manila ( Manila Old Timer ). He was well known as a historian of the brief Golden Age of
Spain in the Philippines, as a writer of short stories suffused with folk Roman Catholicism, as a
playwright, and as a novelist. The novel The Woman Who Had Two Navels (1961) examines his

Reflection On Borderline Personality Disorder
Reflection Number Three Over the past few units, I have greatly expanded my knowledge about
several different psychological topics. Though many of the topics that were discussed sparked my
interest, there were two types of disorders that furthered my knowledge, but also eliminated some
stereotypes that I had about them. The two main areas that I learned more about regarding these
disorders were characteristics of the disorders and different methods of treatment. A common theme
that has been discussed in multiple different units is that several psychological disorders can have
similar symptoms and characteristics. It is crucial to understand what makes one psychological
disorder different than another one. Determining what type of disorders an individual might have can
lead to better and more accurate treatment options; treatments methods are important because they
help individuals manage their disorders. The two disorders that I found to be the most important and
most interesting are borderline personality disorder and schizophrenia. Borderline personality disorder
is associated with a variety of different components and symptoms. The two main areas that borderline
personality disorder is related to are moods and relationships; both of these areas tend to be quite
unstable. The element about borderline personality disorder that I was not aware of was the increased
risk that they have of injury or even death by their own hands. It is a common stereotype that is
depicted in the media that those with psychological disorders are always acting sporadically and
causing harm. It was discussed in this unit that the main reason these individuals are risks to
themselves is because of instability, dysfunction, and impulsivity. Though these elements may sound
like they match what is portrayed in the media, there are deeper meanings behind them that can cause
dangerous behaviors. Instability is associated with relationships; individuals with borderline
personality disorder often have unstable relationships because of their lack of emotional control,
which can then lead to a constant fear of abandonment. Dysfunction is associated with unstable
emotions and is often a good predictor of potential suicidal thoughts and

Theme Of Revenge In The Scarlet Letter
The Scarlet Letter is full of betrayal, hatred, jealousy, and envy. These many traits lead to the theme of
revenge being very prominent in the book. Revenge alone caused much strife between characters in
the novel and became the main goal for Chillingworth. Though there are other places where you can
find this theme it is most often used with Roger Chillingworth. He was torn apart both physically and
mentally by the need of revenge, which led him to lose many relationships that he had with characters
in the book. Chillingworth s dark revenge soon began after he returned home from leaving the
country. When he returned he noticed his wife, Hester Prynne, up on a scaffold. Upon seeing this, he
recognizes a bright A on her chest which meant she was an adulteress. Roger and Hester talk after
years of not seeing each other and Roger demands answers on who the adulterer is. Through much
denial from Hester, Chillingworth explains that he isn t mad at Hester but rather curious to discover
the identity of the adulterer. Later on Hester confesses to Roger that it is Arthur Dimmesdale, the town
reverend, which was shocking to Chillingworth. Upon hearing this Roger plots to get revenge on
Reverend Dimmesdale and will not stop until he gets it. Chillingworth s life is by now taken over by
the need of revenge. Though, with that idea, Roger tries to hide his real feelings and cover them up. As
an example of that, he would tell Hester that he loves her, but in reality he wants to

Business Process Management
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This preliminary report has been compiled by MAK Consultants to tackle the key areas of concern
found within Dynatrix Pty Ltd and proposes potential solutions to the organisation.
The key areas of review for this assessment include:
Strategic and Tactical Planning
Business Process flow and procedures
This document summarizes the methodologies employed to complete the review and presents our
findings and recommendations. Throughout this document we utilize terms such as will, should
consider, and shall, for example, with respect to our recommendations to Dynatrix. We believe each
recommendation should be evaluated and implemented after consideration of approach, cost

As such, BPM can be employed as a strategic asset that Dynatrix can use to produce value added
products to customers. Figure 1.1 Benefits of implementing a BPM approach to Dynatrix
Strategy
MAK consultants understand that Dynatrix lacks a clearly defined strategy that drives the
organisation. As such, actions should be taken to outline the goals and objectives of Dynatrix so every
member of the organisation knows exactly what they are working toward namely through a vision
statement . A vision statement encapsulates this idea of the shared values and beliefs held within
Dynatrix that drives the firm to achieve one common goal.
Strategic Positioning
Everything should begin with a corporate strategy. Quality and customer responsiveness are two value
propositions emphasized in Dynatrix s current strategy. Value proposition is the value that a product or
service provides to customers . (Harmon, 2007) In the case of Dynatrix it can potentially be the
accessories of the hand held device, not the hand held device itself which can provide the platform for
their strategic position. Thus Dynatrix needs to develop a positioning strategy to target customer s
needs. Treacy and Wiersema s three generic positioning strategies distinguish between three value
propositions pertaining to customer needs:

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Bioremediation
a better and a more cost effective option.
Bioremediation is a process which employs microorganisms like bacteria, fungi, actinomycetes and
algae for the cleanup of the environment contaminated with pollutants. Bioremediation is of many
types, which are biostimulation, bioaugmentation, intrinsic bioremediation, phytoremediation,
bioventing, bioleaching, land farming, composting, rhizofiltration and bioreactors. Biostimulation
refers to the method where the environment acts as the stimulant and it stimulates or motivates the
microorganisms to carry out bioremediation. This stimulant is usually in the form of nutrients made
available to these microorganisms. The nutrients supplied are either carbon sources, nitrogen sources,
phosphate, electron acceptors etc. bioaugmentation is the introduction of certain actively growing
microflora which in turn induce the resident microflora to carry out the bioremediation process.

The contaminated sites are directly treated using the microorganisms. Underground petroleum pipes
sometimes have leakages. Such sites of contamination are directly treated with microorganisms that
can degrade petroleum hydrocarbons. The same is applicable in case of oil spills and heavy metal
contamination. Phytoremediation is brought about by certain special plants which can take up the
pollutants and make them less available in the soil. Some examples of such plants are mustard, alpine
pennycress, hemp and pigweed. When the soil which is to be treated with the microorganisms is
stimulated by providing it with oxygen, it is known as bioventing. Bioleaching is a process where
living organisms or microorganisms are used to extract metals from their respective ores. This process
ensures that there is not much expenditure of both chemicals and energy to bring about the extraction.
Land farming refers to amending the soil with organic amendments like vermicompost, bulking agents
etc which are tilled into

Failures Of The Weimar Republic
In its beginnings, the Weimar Republic was one of the most progressive nations in all of Europe. With
42% of its electorate voting for either the Social Democrats or Communists in 1928, and with a
population both embracing homosexuality and redefining gender roles, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party
were somehow able to take power in the democratic system. Though Hitler s rise to power certainly
was not peaceful, it did not solely rely on violence. To the detriment of the minority, indifference of
the majority was all that was needed to carry out many plans. Citizens of the Weimar Republic were
not initially ready to allow a dictatorship that would produce the horrors of Hitler s regime; instead,
Paul von Hindenburg, the Catholic Center Party, and ultimately, the once progressive German public
all overlooked the atrocities of the Nazi Party due to the deceptions of Adolf Hitler, the creation of
common enemies, and the systematic pacification of the German people.
Adolf Hitler s appointment to the chancellor is attributed to the Great Depression of 1929, the rise of
the Nazi Party, and an underestimation of Hitler by the Conservative Party. The devastating effects of
the worldwide depression caused the conservative President Paul von Hindenburg to enact Article 48
of the Weimar constitution due to an emergency state, which essentially allowed the president to
appoint a chancellor without the approval of the Reichstag. Hindenburg appointed numerous different
chancellors in the

used to be embarrassed bringing my mom s home cooked meals to school because everyone else

Lancelot, the knight of the cart, is in love with Queen Guinevere, who constantly compromises his

deeply in love, so much so that he constantly sacrifices his reputation for the queen. Classically, the

Henceforth his life is shamed, scorned, and wretched (de Troyes214). The girl then feels bad because
she mocked him, and gives him horses and equipment with extra care to go find the queen. Lancelot
was never worried about the embarrassment, but rather his love. The embarrassment, however, led
him to both information and equipment to go after her. When he is offered more information, it s love
that makes him strong and bold and he literally offers to do anything (de Troyes 215). Without the girl
s compassion he wouldn t have had the armor or information to save the queen, which would have
made him devastated and humiliated without any chance at redemption. His cart incident is repealed
by his ability to save the queen. Lancelot also reinforces his ability to overcome the petty gossip that

The Holocaust Essays
It is without a doubt that the Holocaust will forever go down in history as one of the most heinous
crimes against humanity. Even years after the Nazi leadership, effects of the war still haunt the streets
of Germany and the memories of the few survivors still alive today. Hitler and his Nazi regime held
power in Germany from 1939 until 1945, when they were defeated by the Allied forces (Davenport
10). Within that time, Hitler was responsible for the death of six million Jewish people, and millions
of other non Jews. (Davenport 10) However, when the war ended, it was a big question as to who to
blame for these horrendous crimes. Several of Hitler s head leaders, and Hitler himself, either

Later, it was proven that the USSR was correct in pushing for a trial to occur. If the United States had
continued its argument to not to go through with the trial, it would jeopardize the values that the
country was built on. The trials began with a 24,000 word indictment, taking nearly two days to read
(Levinson 578). Each of the men was tried on four counts, conspiracy to wage aggressive war, crimes
against peace, war crimes, and crimes against humanity (Levinson 578), by a set of judges and jury
that represented each of the Allied countries (fix citation). By having a fair and just trial, it gives the
court the power to show that every human, no matter what the crime, has the right to a fair trial and
that justice would eventually be served. By exercising the justice system, it also allowed the public to
view the magnitude of the crimes committed by the men, and the level of involvement that each of
them had in Nazi activity. The trial brought many chilling pieces of evidence against the men. They
showed film of concentration camps, gas chambers, cremation ovens, and the forced medical
experience as principal and oral evidence to the judge and jury (Fix citation). The prosecution also
brought six witnesses to the stand; including concentration camp survivors themselves (fix citation).

Hardball Summary
Chris Matthew s Hardball consists of four different parts containing different themes and policies on
how the political world is run. All four parts: Alliances, Enemies, Deals, and Reputations contain
personal anecdotes, historical context of Presidents careers, and rules Matthew s has formed
throughout political experience. The beginning of each chapter starts off with a quote that
foreshadows the subject of each chapter. Although Matthews does establish important rules to follow
as a politician, I disagree with some of his points even though I am a democrat like him. Part One,
Alliances, starts off with the importance of one on one relationships. The sole purpose of these one on
one relationships, which in political terminology is known as retail politics can provide a personal and
political awareness for the other individual s concerns. This triggers a chance for the one who is
performing the retail action the opportunity to network. Lyndon B. Johnson created the Johnson ...

The Secretary Chant
In this poem Marge Piercy s speaker evokes a concrete vision of a woman who has lost her personal
identity to her job. Her bold and descriptive use of metaphors allow the reader to envision a woman
who is living her life vicariously through her career. Ms. Piercy successfully uses paradox,
personification, and the pun to bring the character alive. With the use of metaphors, both implied and
explicit, the reader can deeply empathize with the central character of this poem.
From the first line of the poem the tone is set for the reader. It is not so vague as to use a simple
simile, but a strong manifestation of the idea of the speaker as an actual personification of a material
object. She does not say My hips are like a desk , she says ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Often times the secretary or office assistant are seen as nothing more than robotic extensions
completely devoid of human qualities. Press my fingers (11) is an instruction to her boss explaining
exactly how she is to provide a function as if she was explaining how to operate any other piece of
office equipment. Like any secretary she would have to organize an office and explain to her boss
where things were to be found when she was out of the office. From my mouth issue canceled reams

She is clearly telling her boss where he would find the used paper and closed files but the pun
intended is that whatever she tells her boss is ignored anyway.
By the time the reader gets to the end of the poem the secretary is fully developed as an inanimate
machine, Swollen, heavy (17). She has given up trying to be human and has resigned herself to the
fact that she has been taken over completely by the machines that surround her. Metaphorically
speaking, with the use of metonymy, the secretary, now as a machine herself is about to be delivered /
of a baby Xerox machine (18 20), thus perpetuating a species of human machines.
In the final four lines, the secretary decries that I wonce was a woman and that she needs to be filed

and should just be filed away and forgotten. In this way, Ms.

The Influence Of Restrictions On Food Choices Among Food...
Restrictions on food choices among food stamps recipients not only raise questions on infringements
of individual autonomy and choice they also tend to stigmatize the recipient holders and make them

to spend the money allotted to them the way they want. Moreover, as per USDA s report they use a
portion of their own money to buy the food so there is no guarantee that restricting them from buying
a certain type of food will affect their food purchase (USDA, 2007). It is true that obesity is more

Jp Morgan and Dodd-Frank Act
Q. 1. What were the major factors that led to the recent financial crisis? How did we get here?
Answer: One of the primary factors that can be attributed as to have led the recent financial crisis is
the financial deregulation allowing financial institutions a lot of freedom in the way they operated.
The manifestation of this was seen in the form of: a) Financial innovations that were not backed up
with adequate risk controls and management. b) Too much reliance on Quantitative Risk Management
ultimately leading to mispricing of risk across different financial and non financial investments that
were the product of the financial innovations made feasible by financial deregulation. c) The influx of

Answer:
The Glass Steagall Act of 1933 that defined the roles for commercial banks, investments banks and
insurance firms was over ridden by the Gramm Leach Bliley Act (1999) which repealed the provisions
that restricted affiliations in financial institutions. Hence one solution is to overcome the incentive
problem and the conflict of interests that arise when financial institutions simultaneously undertake
financial activities of varied nature.
In addition to the above the internal incentive to bank should be reduced by requiring greater capital
requirements as well as improving upon the definition of what qualifies to be capital. Further in line
with the answer to question 3, risk management systems in financial institutions need to be redefined
and strengthened to more comprehensively identify, evaluate, manage and monitor risks.
Yes we need to have some form of regulation. The proposed regulation is not bad as it covers most of
the recommendations discussed in this write up earlier. It reinforces the regulatory role as outlined
earlier and requires improving the capital requirements as well as the risk management systems in
place in financial institutions. At the same time the focus is mostly on large, complex financial
institutions that have a systematic impact so it allows some flexibility particularly for smaller and
medium size financial institutions.
As for as the key points to consider, the regulation that is

How to Write a Compare and Contrast Essay
Instructions of How to Write a Compare and Contrast Essay
1
First look at the items you are supposed to compare and contrast. Do you understand them? If you are
writing an essay outside of class, look them up. Start with your text book but also look at your notes
from class, and even go and check them out at Wikipedia. If you are taking a test, and can t look
things up, pause and think over what these things mean. The next two steps will help you remember.
2
Make a list of ways the two items are the same. This is the compare part of a compare and contrast
essay. (For an in class essay, it will be good if you can bring in extra paper. If you can t, you can make
some notes on the back of your blue book.)

If you feel they are more different than the same, start by comparing the similarities.
7
Now get to your point of view. If you are writing a classic five paragraph essay you may want to
spend a whole paragraph pointing out what is wrong with the arguments you made for the other side.
If don t have to meet a specific number of paragraphs, you can just get straight to supporting your own
point of view. Look at your list items that support you, and write about them all, and why they are
important.
8
With compare and contrast essays, the conclusion will be a lot like the introduction. You summarize
what you just said. You may find that some points came up in writing that you hadn t put in your intro.
This is a good time to refer back to those.
9
If this is not an in class essay test, you should try to set the essay aside after you finish, so you can go
back later with your mind fresh. You may come up with a few other items you want to talk about on
your compare or contrast list. You may come up with a better way to write your introduction or
conclusion.
If you can master how to write compare and contrast essays, you will find that you can use that form
for a lot of other essays when the instructor doesn t give you a format.

Serve of Fail by Eggers brings up many interesting points as to why volunteering should be a

between the academic world and the world beyond it. I agree that colleges should make volunteering a

points.
Eggers brings up a point that colleges should instill in their students a lifelong commitment to

The amount of college students in America make that number plausible. Those 10 hours a year could

Volunteering could help colleges bridge the gap between the academic world and the world beyond it
says Eggers. Volunteering could be done at many venues and by volunteering at work places or in a
field they prefer to, students can get to know that field better. Acquiring that perspective will connect
the students to that field of work allowing them to gain experience.
Although I don t agree with Eggers that colleges should be responsible for instilling in their students a
love for volunteering and that college students are suited to volunteering, he brings up some good
points. Requiring college students to volunteer would give America millions of volunteer hours and
will connect students to the workplace. I agree that required volunteering will be a benefit to American

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Block Codes
Communication systems consist of transmitter, channel, and receiver. The latter can be affected by a
noise source, such as the Additive White Gaussian noise (AWGN) which, in turn, can cause a change
in the data transmission. As a result of data change or corruption, the idea of channel coding was
introduced as a reliable solution to overcome this dilemma. Nowadays, we use some techniques as
Forward error correction (FEC) to reduce the errors that might appear during the information
transmission over the channel. In this technique, the system adds redundant (extra) bits to identify if a
specific bit is corrupted or not and correct it. FEC Channel codes may be classified into two main
categories: the Convolutional Code and the Block Code. On ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In other words, block coding is a memory less operation as code words are independent from each
other. In contrast, the output of a convolutional encoder doesn t only depend on the current input
information, but also depends on the previous inputs or outputs; either on a block by block or a bit by
bit basis. Each kind of block codes gets a special generation matrix and a decoding matrix.
Unfortunately, the main disadvantage of block codes is that we cannot extract the information until the
whole code is received. In addition, the entire block has to be retransmitted in case of error.
Convolutional encoders:
In several applications the message bits are transmitted serially rather than blocks. In such cases, it is
not preferred to use a buffer. Thus, the use of convolutional codes may be the optimum method as it
generates redundant bits by using modulo 2 convolutions hence the name of the coder.
The convolutional encoder can be represented as a finite state machine (FSM) with a given number of
shift register stages. For example, if there is a K stage shift registers (usually D flip flops) with a rate
of encoder input bits to its output is 1/n and L bits length message, so the coded output sequence will
have the length of n (L+K) bits .
The most common convolutional encoders have the following parameters: K=2

Although some kinds of sexual behaviors are quite common among non abused children (for example,
kissing, touching genitals manually), sexually abused children tend to engage in a greater number of
sexual behaviors than their non abused peers, many of which are developmentally talented and
seemingly imitative of adult sexual activity. Such behavior not only may result in interpersonal
rejection or stigmatization by the victim s peer environment, but also may lead to social sanctions and
punishments when it escalates into the victimization of other children. As adults, survivors report a
greater fear of both men and women. They are more likely to remain single and, once married, are
more likely to divorce or separate from their spouses than are those without sexual abuse histories.
Sexual abuse survivors typically report having fewer friends, less interpersonal trust, less satisfaction
in their relationships, more maladaptive interpersonal patterns and greater discomfort, isolation, and
interpersonal sensitivity. It is said that adults victimized as children may see themselves as unworthy
of relationships with people they consider good or healthy, and that some victims may attempt to gain
mastery over the abuse experience by recreating it in the form of involvement in poor or abusive
relationships. In

Will a dog park be a postive addition to Muscatine, or will it be a negative addition? This is the
question currently being asked. Both sides of the party make a very good argument. From it being a
postive way for dogs to let out their energy and socialize, to it being a negative disruption for tax
payers and surrounding residents of the dog park. My personal opinion is the dog park should be
contructed, and here are some supporting reasons why.
As stated in the first passage, dogs need to be socialized with other dogs to be a good dog at home and
outside of its home. If a dog is not properly socialized it can easily lead to a aggressive or reserved
dog. At home i have a dog of my own which whom I adopted from a shelter. When I first attained him
he was very shy and skittish, especially around other dogs. However after taking him to our local dog
park and into different stores that allow your dog to accompany you, his behavior started to change.

prohibited places makes much more of a disturbance. You dont want to go to park to relax and be

Foot And Mouth Research Paper
FOOT AND MOUTH: CATTLE
Key Facts
Foot and Mouth (FMD) is recognized as a highly contagious viral disease which affects cloven
hooved animals, such as cattle (Bos Taurus) (Grubman and Baxt, 2004).
The mortality rate is very low as affected animals can recover from the disease, however, due to the
loss of production and infectious state of the disease, infected animals are usually culled.
The outbreak of FMD in the United Kingdom in 2001 caused the destruction of about 6 million
animals from 9,515 farms and losses of £8 million. It then spread to Ireland, the Netherlands and
France.
Aetiology
Aphthovirus is the virus that causes FMD.
Epidemiology
FMD is spread by direct and indirect contact with infected substances, mechanical vectors ... Show

It can also survive 14 days in dry faecal matter, 39 days in urine and up to 28 days in soil.
After infection with the FMD virus, the average incubation period in cattle is 2 14 days. The
incubation period of FMD can vary and is highly dependent on the environment, host, virus strain and
the way in which the individual got infected (e.g. inhalation or ingestion).
Diagnosis
Symptoms of FMD include:
Drop in milk production and blisters on teats
Lameness or difficulty walking due to blisters on feet
Significant increase in body temperature for 3 consecutive days
Vesicles that discharge clear or cloudy fluid
Sticky and foamy saliva
Weight loss/anorexia due to painful tongue and mouth blisters
Abortions
Heart disease and sudden death
In cattle, the clinical signs of the disease are easily confused with the symptoms of vesicular stomatitis
(Alexandersen, Zhang, Donaldson and Garland, 2003). Therefore, laboratory testing is essential for
diagnosis. Bodily fluids are taken for testing. If no vesicles can be found, fluid can be collected by
pharyngeal swabbing for virus isolation or reverse transcription PCR. Serum (blood) samples may
also be tested this way (OIE Terrestrial Manual,

Death By Neil Degrasse Tyson Analysis
By reading the book Death by Black Hole: And Other Cosmic Quandaries, one can deduce that the
author, Neil deGrasse Tyson, is man of intelligence with a love for the ways of the universe. He
clearly has a passion for what he does, as he immerses himself in his personal interests by giving
public lectures about the cosmos (346). He values his personal interest so much that he has solved
how long it would take to cook a 16 inch pepperoni pizza on Venus; the answer is seven seconds (80).
Tyson obviously has a strong enthusiasm for what he does as an astrophysicist and has spent many
years in this field. Throughout the book, he explains concepts in ways that the reader is able to
understand and relate to. He uses simple topics to help explain our complex universe. For example, he
introduces the idea of a constant and uses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reader learns more about Tyson through the chapter Holy Wars, in which he explains his beliefs
on God and religion. While the author does not indicate that he is an atheist, the reader is drawn to the
conclusion that he does not believe in God. He states that if the Bible had ever been shown to be a rich
source of scientific answers and understanding, [scientists] would be mining it daily for cosmic
discovery (352). This statement evidently states that the Bible holds no valuable information with
regards to the universal laws and ideas. On the last page of the book, Tyson further emphasizes that
one cannot put complete faith in a higher being by stating that [God] does not want students who
could make the next major breakthrough in renewable energy sources or space travel to have been
taught that anything they do not understand, and that nobody yet understands, is divinely constructed
and therefore beyond intellectual capability

Analysis Of The Book The Of By F. Scott Fitzgerald
Waknuk is the hometown of David, Petra and Rosalind; the three had to flee their home by night when
they got news of Sally and Katherine being captured. David and Petra left home and travelled down a
path to the riverbank, where they met up with Rosalind. For their travel they utilized two great horses
owned by Rosalind s father to go on their journey for safety. David, Petra and Rosalind travelled in a
southwesterly direction until they came to a stop in the early morning. The three started their journey
again in the late of the evening through the night in the same direction till they came to a stop in
Labrador, where Petra was sending letter shapes to the Sealand woman of their current location. They
continued on their journey until the break of dawn and then rested. Just after sunrise Michael informed
them that he and the search party were on their trail and they needed to get going. David, Petra and
Rosalind hustled their things together and made their way, continuing in a southwesterly direction into
Wild Country. They made another stop in Wild Country to eat. When it was a little darker they pushed
on towards the Fringes, until they were captured by the Fringes people and taken even further into the
Fringes. Eventually, the Sealand woman rescued David, Petra and Rosalind and they travelled to
Zealand via a flying craft that she had came in during the evening.
This selection was chosen, as it was a major transition in the story of The Chrysalids. David, Petra and

b. Transition to Second Main Point: Now that you are financially and emotionally prepared, it s time
to evaluate the housing market. Is it a buyers or a sellers market. What are interest rates doing? What
mortgage products are available to you now, and could those options change?
B. Main Point # 2: It is very important to be aware of the housing market conditions, what is going on
in the market in regards to interest rates and what mortgage products are available to you. All of these
factors are significant in deciding your time frame for purchasing.
a. Support: This is not data that you will have to go out and collect. They are merely questions you
should ask to determine the urgency of your purchase. Any qualified professional should be able to
answer these questions for you and educate you on how they affect you.
First question, what type of real estate market are we in? Is it a buyers or a sellers market. This may
very well determine if now is the right time for you to buy. Take 2004 as an example. At that point in
time it was a very strong sellers market, which meant that sellers had more control over the transaction
and could demand more from prospective buyers. Almost every seller was receiving multiple if not 10
or more contracts on their property. This turned every purchase into a bidding war between potential
buyers,

There is one scene in the movie which could have been...
There is one scene in the movie which could have been impossible to produce without computer
imagery. The scene involves Scar who wants to kill his royal relatives by trapping them under the
crowd of thousands running wildebeests.
Occasionally, there s an effect that the directors want in a film that would be virtually impossible to do
with traditional animation techniques, explains CGI supervisor Scott Johnston. That s where computer
animation can sometimes make a difference. A stampede of thousands of wildebeests would be too
laborious to create by hand but animators working with computers can figure out what the behaviour
of the animal is and replicate it. We can also create all the camera angles that the scene requires and
match ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They came up with the idea a simulation, sort of following the leader. They created the leaders and the
followers so logically, the followers had to follow the leaders but at the same time avoiding each other
because they did not want the wildebeests to crash into each other. The next step was to match them
into the background. The CGI crew built the 3 dimensional grid stages which matched the perspective
and the look of the background which was going to be in the scene. Then they placed one of the
simulations on the grid and replaced the small magnets with the wildebeests running. The different
angles of the camera gave the audience the possibility to see the wildebeests running either over the
camera or under or even zoomed in the crowd.
In terms of color, the animators wanted the wildebeests to be slightly of different color so they gave
them random wild colors. It was made with the purpose that the director now could say what exactly
he liked or disliked and what he wanted to change in the particular wildebeest in the scene. When they
put this scene in the film for a draft version, the shades of grey were applied to match the black and
white film. And then in final color, they gave them each different coloring but within a very limited
range of shading: some of them became slightly lighter grey, some of them darker grey. All in all, five
CGI specialists spent over two years creating the incredible two

holes character essay
A character study of Kissing Kate Barlow In the book Holes, by Louis Sachar, I chose the character
Miss Katherine Barlow also known as Kissing Kate Barlow. Miss Katherine was first a schoolteacher,
but then was the most feared outlaw. In the book you find out the story of how she became an outlaw
from a schoolteacher. Miss Katherine Barlow was a sweet schoolteacher from the nineteenth century
at Green Lake. She is also known for her beauty and her spiced peaches: ...full of knowledge and full
of life. (Sachar, 102) She was very pretty. Her classes were often full of young men, who were ...

Miss Katherine didn t like him back. She rejected his requests to go on walks, and ride fancy boats
that he owned. Instead she liked the onion man: Sam. He was black, and he sold onions around the
town with his donkey Mary Lou. Once Miss Katherine asked Sam to fix the leaking roof in exchange
for some jars of her peaches. After he finished with the roof, she asked him to fix other things. Each
time she tried to find a reason to talk to him and be around him. She did this because black people
weren t allowed to go to school. When Sam had fixed the schoolhouse completely fixed the
schoolhouse, she was sad, because she didn t get that much time to talk to him anymore. She liked
him, and they kissed: Oh Sam, she said. My heart is breaking. I can fix that, said Sam. He took hold of
her hands and kissed her. (Sachar, 111) This shows that were both in love. They didn t even take in
mind that black and white people couldn t kiss or have a future together. They simply didn t care about
it. Unfortunately black and white people weren t allowed to kiss: It s against the law for a Negro to
miss a white woman. This shows that there was still a racial problem at that time, and Sam the onion
picker wasn t allowed to kiss Miss Katherine. The positive thing about Miss Katherine is that she was
well educated and friendly as a teacher. Then her life changed completely and she became the opposite

Buddy Bolden Research Paper
The person whom invented Jazz was born in uptown New Orleans on September 6, 1877 to Alice and
Westmore Bolden. Charles Buddy Bolden grew up in one of the most musically rich cities in all of the
United States during the time, and it would have great influence in his life. As a young man, Buddy
made money as a barber, however his heart was truly in his music. The cornet was his instrument, and
he could play like nobody else. He was famously known as The King because of how well he played
the cornet, as well as his public demand and popularity. Buddy s playing married all of the
contemporary popular styles of music, creating something never before heard, Jazz. Jazz music

The White Rose Research Paper
The main students in the White Rose consisted of five people: Sophie Scholl, her brother Hans Scholl,
Alex Schmorell, Willi Graf, and Christoph Probst, all of which were in their early twenties. Between
June 1942 and February 1943, they created and spread six different leaflets, in which they showed the
opposition of the German citizens to Nazi oppression and fascism. Huber created the final two leaflets.
A seventh leaflet, written by Christoph Probst, was found in the possession of Hans Scholl when he
was arrested by the Gestapo, who destroyed it. In 1942, Alex Schmorell and Hans Scholl created four
leaflets. They copied them on a typewriter with as many copies as could be made, not exceeding 100,
and spread them within Germany. These

Is Cheating Unethical
Cheating is unethical because it is wrong in every way, shape, and form. The definition of unethical in
dictionary.com is lacking moral principles, and unwilling to adhere to proper rules of conduct. When
you decide to cheat you have lacked your moral principles. You are no longer a person to trust. You
have decided to not play by fair rules, and therefore have lost your integrity. Cheating is unethical
because it s not fair that you take advantage of another person s intelligence for you to take it as your
own. During an exam there should never be cheating, that is why they tell you in advance about the
day of the test so you can study. So, it is inappropriate and illegal to cheat on your exam.
Cheating oversteps on the rights of other people because while another person is doing their best to
finish a paper right, another person is cheating. The right person spent hours studying for an exam, if
not days studying. They went to sleep late to learn the material taught in class to be able to do an exam
and get an A. While the wrong person doesn t study. They do all tons of other stuff but, open a book,
or their notes. Then they go to do an exam, and they cheat all over it. That is wrong because while a
person spent their time, studying or worked hard to learn the material, then the cheater student comes
without studying and decides to cheat. They both might get an A. But, the studied student deserves the
A because that person put the time, and dedication to earn it. While the other student got an A but they
know in the bottom of their heart that they didn t deserve the A. Also, a common type of cheating is
when in an exam a person is doing their test, and a student close to them starts copying them.
Cheating also oversteps on the rights of others by simply not being loyal, or not playing by the rules.
In a business, there might be 2 business partners. The one that sees the triumph of the business, and
the one who sees the interest of his own pocket. It is somewhat common that businesses with partners
usually end because one decides to step over the other one. And destroys the friendship of the two,
along with the business. When you cheat on a game it s a shame on you because you didn t play fairly.
If you won

  • 2. Sara Bareilles Brave Music Video Analysis I think there s so much honor and integrity and beauty in being able to be who you are, Sara Bareilles stated to The Advocate, in 2013. Sara Bareilles pop single sensation Brave illustrates my perspective on a combination of issues from the Third Wave Manifesta that seems particularly relevant to me. The most relevant for me was number six that was stated, To support and increase the visibility and power of lesbians and bisexual women in the feminist movement, in high schools, colleges, and the workplace. To recognize that queer women have always been at the forefront of the feminist movement, and that there is nothing to be gained and much to be lost by downplaying their history, whether inadvertently or actively. • 3. American Christianity Democratized How was American Christianity democratized during this period, and how else was the United States democratized? The Second Great Awakening commenced with a Protestant revival movement during the early beginning around 1790, the movement gained momentum through 1820s. While serving as a Whig member (Whig later called the Liberal party), according to Clark he is said to have been the author of 4 anonymous pamphlets which are credited for swaying the perception of the Whig political ideology after the 1688 Revolution. He contributed to England s transition of barbarous society into one of politeness. As a truly universal writer, Defoe also had his hand in the secular beliefs. Essay about Comparing The Epic of Gilgamesh with The Odyssey The Epic of Gilgamesh and The Odyssey both are held in high respect by literature analysts and historians alike for the characterization of the hero and his companion, the imagery brought to mind when one of them is read, and the impressive length in relation to the time period it was written in. The similarities that these two epics share do not end with only those three; in fact, the comparability of these works extend to even the information on the author and the archetypes used. However, The Odyssey and The Epic of Gilgamesh contrast from one another in their writing styles, character details, and main ideas. Both epics weave together a story of a lost man who must find his way, but the path of their stories contrast from one another. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In these two epics, the major themes are the concept of good versus evil and the conflicts of man versus man, man versus self, and man versus nature. In The Epic of Gilgamesh, the King of Uruk represented good while Humbaba and the snake represented evil. Compared to The Odyssey, the Sumerian epic consists of a smaller representation for both good and evil. Odysseus represented good, but so does his son, Athena, and many of the gods that help him. Antinous, the rest of the suitors, Polyphemus, Circe, as well as many others were on the evil side of the equation for this epic. The concept of good versus evil coincides with the conflict of both man versus man and man versus self. Odysseus and Gilgamesh both engaged in both types of conflict, but Gilgamesh experienced more of the latter conflict while Odysseus experienced more of the former. Odysseus s adventures involved more of man versus man conflicts because of how often he had to fight a physical being. For example, Odysseus and his men blinded Polyphemus by ramming a hot spear deep into his [Polyphemus] crater eye (qtd. in Prentice Hall Lit. 992). In addition, Odysseus and his son, Telemachus, had to fight off more than a hundred suitors near the end of the epic. Gilgamesh had plenty of experiences with man versus man conflict, such as his first fight with Enkidu, his fight with Humbaba, as well as his arguments with the gods. In this case I would say that some basic rights of the consumers may have been violated by CitiFinancial because they were not completely up front about the small print that told the true story about the consolidation loans. Other moral philosophies emphasize justice, which requires comparisons of situations of individuals. Justice theories are concerned with how different individuals stand relative to each other on dimensions including, but not limited to, rights, liberties and consequences. The three principal categories of justice theories are distributive, compensatory and retributive. Distributive justice is concerned with providing incentives to contribute to well being in society and with providing a fair and just distribution of the rewards of those contributions. Compensatory justice is concerned with determining how individuals should be compensated for the harm done by others. Retributive justice is concerned with punishment of actions that are contrary to a moral rule or societal well being. • 11. Reflection On Borderline Personality Disorder Reflection Number Three Over the past few units, I have greatly expanded my knowledge about several different psychological topics. Though many of the topics that were discussed sparked my interest, there were two types of disorders that furthered my knowledge, but also eliminated some stereotypes that I had about them. The two main areas that I learned more about regarding these disorders were characteristics of the disorders and different methods of treatment. A common theme that has been discussed in multiple different units is that several psychological disorders can have similar symptoms and characteristics. It is crucial to understand what makes one psychological disorder different than another one. Determining what type of disorders an individual might have can lead to better and more accurate treatment options; treatments methods are important because they help individuals manage their disorders. The two disorders that I found to be the most important and most interesting are borderline personality disorder and schizophrenia. Borderline personality disorder is associated with a variety of different components and symptoms. The two main areas that borderline personality disorder is related to are moods and relationships; both of these areas tend to be quite unstable. The element about borderline personality disorder that I was not aware of was the increased risk that they have of injury or even death by their own hands. It is a common stereotype that is depicted in the media that those with psychological disorders are always acting sporadically and causing harm. It was discussed in this unit that the main reason these individuals are risks to themselves is because of instability, dysfunction, and impulsivity. Though these elements may sound like they match what is portrayed in the media, there are deeper meanings behind them that can cause dangerous behaviors. Instability is associated with relationships; individuals with borderline personality disorder often have unstable relationships because of their lack of emotional control, which can then lead to a constant fear of abandonment. Dysfunction is associated with unstable emotions and is often a good predictor of potential suicidal thoughts and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Theme Of Revenge In The Scarlet Letter The Scarlet Letter is full of betrayal, hatred, jealousy, and envy. These many traits lead to the theme of revenge being very prominent in the book. Revenge alone caused much strife between characters in the novel and became the main goal for Chillingworth. Though there are other places where you can find this theme it is most often used with Roger Chillingworth. He was torn apart both physically and mentally by the need of revenge, which led him to lose many relationships that he had with characters in the book. Chillingworth s dark revenge soon began after he returned home from leaving the country. When he returned he noticed his wife, Hester Prynne, up on a scaffold. Upon seeing this, he recognizes a bright A on her chest which meant she was an adulteress. Roger and Hester talk after years of not seeing each other and Roger demands answers on who the adulterer is. Through much denial from Hester, Chillingworth explains that he isn t mad at Hester but rather curious to discover the identity of the adulterer. Later on Hester confesses to Roger that it is Arthur Dimmesdale, the town reverend, which was shocking to Chillingworth. Upon hearing this Roger plots to get revenge on Reverend Dimmesdale and will not stop until he gets it. Chillingworth s life is by now taken over by the need of revenge. Though, with that idea, Roger tries to hide his real feelings and cover them up. As an example of that, he would tell Hester that he loves her, but in reality he wants to ... With 42% of its electorate voting for either the Social Democrats or Communists in 1928, and with a population both embracing homosexuality and redefining gender roles, Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party were somehow able to take power in the democratic system. Though Hitler s rise to power certainly was not peaceful, it did not solely rely on violence. To the detriment of the minority, indifference of the majority was all that was needed to carry out many plans. Citizens of the Weimar Republic were not initially ready to allow a dictatorship that would produce the horrors of Hitler s regime; instead, Paul von Hindenburg, the Catholic Center Party, and ultimately, the once progressive German public all overlooked the atrocities of the Nazi Party due to the deceptions of Adolf Hitler, the creation of common enemies, and the systematic pacification of the German people. Adolf Hitler s appointment to the chancellor is attributed to the Great Depression of 1929, the rise of the Nazi Party, and an underestimation of Hitler by the Conservative Party. Classically, the romantic hero developed from an extravagant to an ideal character (Williams 275) in typical Romance literature. All four parts: Alliances, Enemies, Deals, and Reputations contain personal anecdotes, historical context of Presidents careers, and rules Matthew s has formed throughout political experience. The beginning of each chapter starts off with a quote that foreshadows the subject of each chapter. Although Matthews does establish important rules to follow as a politician, I disagree with some of his points even though I am a democrat like him. Part One, Alliances, starts off with the importance of one on one relationships. The sole purpose of these one on one relationships, which in political terminology is known as retail politics can provide a personal and political awareness for the other individual s concerns. This triggers a chance for the one who is performing the retail action the opportunity to network. Lyndon B. Johnson created the Johnson ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 21. The Secretary Chant In this poem Marge Piercy s speaker evokes a concrete vision of a woman who has lost her personal identity to her job. Her bold and descriptive use of metaphors allow the reader to envision a woman who is living her life vicariously through her career. Ms. Piercy successfully uses paradox, personification, and the pun to bring the character alive. With the use of metaphors, both implied and explicit, the reader can deeply empathize with the central character of this poem. From the first line of the poem the tone is set for the reader. It is not so vague as to use a simple simile, but a strong manifestation of the idea of the speaker as an actual personification of a material object. Answer: One of the primary factors that can be attributed as to have led the recent financial crisis is the financial deregulation allowing financial institutions a lot of freedom in the way they operated. The manifestation of this was seen in the form of: a) Financial innovations that were not backed up with adequate risk controls and management. b) Too much reliance on Quantitative Risk Management ultimately leading to mispricing of risk across different financial and non financial investments that were the product of the financial innovations made feasible by financial deregulation. c) The influx of liquidity both original ... Answer: The Glass Steagall Act of 1933 that defined the roles for commercial banks, investments banks and insurance firms was over ridden by the Gramm Leach Bliley Act (1999) which repealed the provisions that restricted affiliations in financial institutions. Hence one solution is to overcome the incentive problem and the conflict of interests that arise when financial institutions simultaneously undertake financial activities of varied nature. In addition to the above the internal incentive to bank should be reduced by requiring greater capital requirements as well as improving upon the definition of what qualifies to be capital. Further in line with the answer to question 3, risk management systems in financial institutions need to be redefined and strengthened to more comprehensively identify, evaluate, manage and monitor risks. Yes we need to have some form of regulation. The proposed regulation is not bad as it covers most of the recommendations discussed in this write up earlier. It reinforces the regulatory role as outlined earlier and requires improving the capital requirements as well as the risk management systems in place in financial institutions. At the same time the focus is mostly on large, complex financial institutions that have a systematic impact so it allows some flexibility particularly for smaller and medium size financial institutions. • 31. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Block Codes Communication systems consist of transmitter, channel, and receiver. The latter can be affected by a noise source, such as the Additive White Gaussian noise (AWGN) which, in turn, can cause a change in the data transmission. As a result of data change or corruption, the idea of channel coding was introduced as a reliable solution to overcome this dilemma. Nowadays, we use some techniques as Forward error correction (FEC) to reduce the errors that might appear during the information transmission over the channel. In this technique, the system adds redundant (extra) bits to identify if a specific bit is corrupted or not and correct it. FEC Channel codes may be classified into two main categories: the Convolutional Code and the Block Code. On ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In other words, block coding is a memory less operation as code words are independent from each other. In contrast, the output of a convolutional encoder doesn t only depend on the current input information, but also depends on the previous inputs or outputs; either on a block by block or a bit by bit basis. Each kind of block codes gets a special generation matrix and a decoding matrix. Unfortunately, the main disadvantage of block codes is that we cannot extract the information until the whole code is received. In addition, the entire block has to be retransmitted in case of error. Convolutional encoders: In several applications the message bits are transmitted serially rather than blocks. In such cases, it is not preferred to use a buffer. Thus, the use of convolutional codes may be the optimum method as it generates redundant bits by using modulo 2 convolutions hence the name of the coder. The convolutional encoder can be represented as a finite state machine (FSM) with a given number of shift register stages. For example, if there is a K stage shift registers (usually D flip flops) with a rate of encoder input bits to its output is 1/n and L bits length message, so the coded output sequence will have the length of n (L+K) bits . The most common convolutional encoders have the following parameters: K=2 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Such behavior not only may result in interpersonal rejection or stigmatization by the victim s peer environment, but also may lead to social sanctions and punishments when it escalates into the victimization of other children. David, Petra and Rosalind hustled their things together and made their way, continuing in a southwesterly direction into Wild Country. They made another stop in Wild Country to eat. When it was a little darker they pushed on towards the Fringes, until they were captured by the Fringes people and taken even further into the Fringes. The scene involves Scar who wants to kill his royal relatives by trapping them under the crowd of thousands running wildebeests. Occasionally, there s an effect that the directors want in a film that would be virtually impossible to do with traditional animation techniques, explains CGI supervisor Scott Johnston. That s where computer animation can sometimes make a difference. A stampede of thousands of wildebeests would be too laborious to create by hand but animators working with computers can figure out what the behaviour of the animal is and replicate it. We can also create all the camera angles that the scene requires and match ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They came up with the idea a simulation, sort of following the leader. They created the leaders and the followers so logically, the followers had to follow the leaders but at the same time avoiding each other because they did not want the wildebeests to crash into each other. The next step was to match them into the background. The CGI crew built the 3 dimensional grid stages which matched the perspective and the look of the background which was going to be in the scene. Then they placed one of the simulations on the grid and replaced the small magnets with the wildebeests running. The different angles of the camera gave the audience the possibility to see the wildebeests running either over the camera or under or even zoomed in the crowd. In terms of color, the animators wanted the wildebeests to be slightly of different color so they gave them random wild colors. It was made with the purpose that the director now could say what exactly he liked or disliked and what he wanted to change in the particular wildebeest in the scene. When they put this scene in the film for a draft version, the shades of grey were applied to match the black and white film. And then in final color, they gave them each different coloring but within a very limited range of shading: some of them became slightly lighter grey, some of them darker grey. All in all, five CGI specialists spent over two years creating the incredible two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Instead she liked the onion man: Sam. He was black, and he sold onions around the town with his donkey Mary Lou. Once Miss Katherine asked Sam to fix the leaking roof in exchange for some jars of her peaches. After he finished with the roof, she asked him to fix other things. Each time she tried to find a reason to talk to him and be around him. She did this because black people weren t allowed to go to school. When Sam had fixed the schoolhouse completely fixed the schoolhouse, she was sad, because she didn t get that much time to talk to him anymore. She liked him, and they kissed: Oh Sam, she said. My heart is breaking. I can fix that, said Sam. He took hold of her hands and kissed her. (Sachar, 111) This shows that were both in love. They didn t even take in mind that black and white people couldn t kiss or have a future together. They simply didn t care about it. Unfortunately black and white people weren t allowed to kiss: It s against the law for a Negro to miss a white woman. This shows that there was still a racial problem at that time, and Sam the onion picker wasn t allowed to kiss Miss Katherine. • 48. Is Cheating Unethical Cheating is unethical because it is wrong in every way, shape, and form. The definition of unethical in dictionary.com is lacking moral principles, and unwilling to adhere to proper rules of conduct. When you decide to cheat you have lacked your moral principles. You are no longer a person to trust. You have decided to not play by fair rules, and therefore have lost your integrity. Cheating is unethical because it s not fair that you take advantage of another person s intelligence for you to take it as your own. During an exam there should never be cheating, that is why they tell you in advance about the day of the test so you can study. So, it is inappropriate and illegal to cheat on your exam. Cheating oversteps on the rights of other people because while another person is doing their best to finish a paper right, another person is cheating. The right person spent hours studying for an exam, if not days studying. They went to sleep late to learn the material taught in class to be able to do an exam and get an A. While the wrong person doesn t study. They do all tons of other stuff but, open a book, or their notes. Then they go to do an exam, and they cheat all over it. That is wrong because while a person spent their time, studying or worked hard to learn the material, then the cheater student comes without studying and decides to cheat. They both might get an A. But, the studied student deserves the A because that person put the time, and dedication to earn it. While the other student got an A but they know in the bottom of their heart that they didn t deserve the A. Also, a common type of cheating is when in an exam a person is doing their test, and a student close to them starts copying them. Cheating also oversteps on the rights of others by simply not being loyal, or not playing by the rules. In a business, there might be 2 business partners. The one that sees the triumph of the business, and the one who sees the interest of his own pocket. It is somewhat common that businesses with partners usually end because one decides to step over the other one. And destroys the friendship of the two, along with the business. When you cheat on a game it s a shame on you because you didn t play fairly. If you won ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
