Internet Service Provider (ISP)
 our Internet Service Provider (ISP) is the company that provides your internet
access.
 An Internet Service Provider (ISP) is a company that provides Internet access to
businesses, families, and even mobile users, such as AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, or
Spectrum. ISPs provide Internet access to their customers via fiber optics, satellite,
copper wire, and other means.
Types of Connections
 2 Types of connections
1. Wired connection network
 There are four main types of wired media in use:
 Twisted pair. Shielded, copper-based, twisted-pair cable. ...
 Coaxial. Copper-based coaxial cable. ...
 Ethernet. Unshielded, copper-based, twisted-pair cable. ...
 Fiber optic. Glass or plastic-based fiber-optic cable.
2. Wireless connection network
Wireless networking is a method of avoiding the costly process of introducing cables into a building or connecting
various equipment locations in homes, telecommunications networks, and business installations.
 Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPAN) are short-range networks that connect devices within a relatively
small area. ...
 Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) are wireless networks that use radio waves, not Bluetooth technology like
WPANs.
 Is it better to have a wired or wireless network? Wireless internet connections are far slower than wired
networks. This is due to the fact that data is transmitted via cables. Because the devices are connected directly
via cables, the speeds are frequently faster than any wireless broadband connection.
Terrace tower
 It means you are not exposed to direct microwave radiation from cell towers. On
the contrary, cell phone radiation could be a major issue. There is a high risk of
radiation at your home if you are in direct line of sight of these antennas at a
distance of less than 100-150 meters.
Coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM)
 Coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM), a variant of wavelength division
multiplexing (WDM), is an optical transmission technique used for shorter
distances as compared to dense WDM (DWDM). CWDM transmits few channels
and makes use of wider spacing in between the channels for distances of up to 60
km
Mux Multiplexer
 A multiplexer (or mux; also spelled multiplexor) is a device in electronics that
selects between several analogue or digital input signals and forwards the selected
input to a single output line. A separate set of digital inputs known as select lines
controls the selection.
Fiber to earth converter device
 What exactly is a network media converter, and what is it used for? A media
converter is a networking device that connects two distinct media types, such as
Ethernet copper and Ethernet fibre. They typically connect devices that are more
than 100 metres away from the nearest available switch.
Router
 A router connects two or more packet-switched networks or subnetworks. Its
primary functions are to manage traffic between these networks by forwarding
data packets to their intended IP addresses and to allow multiple devices to use the
same Internet connection.
1. private IP address to public IP address.
2. it is connected deferent network.
3. finding shortest path.
4. reduce traffic.
Ethernet switch
 An Ethernet switch connects network devices to ensure data reaches its destination.
The network switch may have ports for 5, 8, 12, 16, 24, or 28 devices, whereas
corporate Ethernet switches usually have 32 to 128 connections.
