Story/Narrative
Our player plays as an astronaut that has been tasked with the mission of flying into space in his rocket ship
to drive of the impending alien invasion on earth. He has been given some alien tech to help him fight of the
aliens - His own alien blaster. He just fly from planet to planet, pushing back the forces of the aliens until they
have been evicted from our solar system and are no longer a threat.
Setting
As you progress through the story, the settings will change as you move from level to level. Some aspects of
the setting will stay the same. In every level you are in space, so the background will stay the same, maybe
with different objects in the background, to make things change a little bit for entertainment purposes. The
planet you are fighting aliens on, will change each time, and the holes in which they pop out of will be in
different places, and as the levels get harder, there will be more holes.
Levels and challenges
As said in settings, the holes in which the aliens spawn in, there will be more of these holes for each new
level to make the challenge harder as you go on. There will be more red aliens for you to avoid so you need
to be more aware of the things you are tapping.
Core Mechanics
The core mechanic and really the only mechanic is to
tap the screen on the device you are playing on.
Character Design
We make our selection of aliens in adobe illustrator, for
a smooth outline and then if we want, we finish up the
touches in photoshop and then add the into the game.
We have a selection of different aliens.
Visual Design
The design of our game is going to be a pretty standard
design. All our level and character designs are being
made in illustrator and photoshop. Smoother outlines
with relatively thick outline layer.
Genre
Because our game is set in space an on other planets,
we class our game as a sci-fi game. We tried to make
the whole game style quite user friendly and suitable for
all ages. We think its most popular audience will be children under the age of 13.
Gameplay
When each level starts, the player will have 3 seconds that are counted down to ready them selves. Once
the timer ends, the aliens will start popping out of the various holes on the planet that is on the screen. The
player must think fast and tap each green alien that pop out. The alien will then fall down the hole with a
different face. To show the player that they successfully defeated that alien, the game will make a sound of
success, and if the user plays with no sound, then they can see the facial expression change.
