Children’s Story- Slick Rick
This song is a story about a kid who goes down the wrong path and ends up
robbing many people. The song goes into a lot of detail so I thought I could make
my music video based off of what the lyrics are saying.
An idea I had was that I could create a stop motion animation using lego and kids
toys from my childhood as the characters. This would be a good idea since the
song is called ‘Children’s Story’ I could print out backgrounds on paper and stick
them on the wall behind the toys so the viewer can tell where the characters are
without me actually going anywhere.
If not this, I could film with my friends.

97 Bonnie and Clyde-Eminem
This song is by Eminem and is about him driving to a lake to dump his dead wife’s
body in the river, whilst he is talking to his baby daughter about it.
My idea was that I could use the cameras view as the baby’s point of view and I
could put the camera in the back of a car and have me or one of my friends lip
syncing over the lyrics acting if they are actually talking to the baby.
This would mean the actor in a mid-shot.
When the chorus is playing I think it could have multiple shots such as a long,
shot, birds eye view shot etc of the car driving.
When the body is being dumped in the lake, the actor would walk out of the car
and the camera would only just see the actor walking out, as if they were about
to dump the body. Maybe a cameraman could pan the camera round so it would
be like the baby looking around.
In many of Eminem’s videos he is wearing simple clothing such as a plain white T-
shirt or a hoodie so the actor in the video could be wearing clothes like this.
Also, since the song is about him killing his dead wife, I could have fake blood
over the clothes.

7. Idea three
Iron heart- Netsky
Idea 1: POV of person training for basketball team. They start off as a very bad player and
eventually get really good and are scoring lots of points. Through the video we would see that
they are improving. There would be subtitles showing what the teammates are saying and also
showing his height weight etc. I would need to improvise location-wise since obviously I can’t
get a full stadium. By the end, he is an excellent basketball player
Idea 2: A teenager is playing a video game and suddenly gets sucked inside console so he is no
longer playing the game, he is in the game. He goes from game to game, going in popular games
such as fortnite and Grand Theft Auto. At the end of the video, he looks up and sees that his
Mother has came into his room and is turning off the console, whilst he is still in the game.
Idea 3: POV video of some robbers that are robbing people e.g their possessions and are making
lots of money from it. They start off by robbing a bank with toy guns and making the people put
the money in the bag. They then steal someone’s car and get away.
Start doing house robberies. Getaway car, uber. Person starts feeling really paranoid that they are being watched.
One of them ends up getting shot or beaten up since they rob the wrong person.
They are then running off. Eventually they try to mug an undercover cop and get caught.

• 5 strengths of your ideas you could use
• I think that my idea of video games for Netsky- Iron Heart would go well with the music since it is quite a fast paced song
and video games are also fast paced so they would work well together. Also having video games
• The eminem song is quite easy to film since I can just use my Dad’s car and if I needed, I could just film it on my own.
• For my idea of a basketball video for the song Rise and Shine, I have some friends that play basketball so I could use them
for my video.
• I like the idea of filming a video from a first person view since not too many artists have music videos in this view and the
ones that do are often credited for how good their video is.
• 5 weaknesses of you ideas
• There are parts of my ideas that I would find difficult to make. For 97 Bonnie and Clyde, I can’t drive the car as I can’t
drive and none of my friends can so I would need to use maybe some green card or something for a greenscreen to edit
the video to make it look as if someone was driving. It would also be difficult filming from the Baby’s point of view since a
lot of it would be all in one take so it would be hard for the actor to get all the lyrics lip synced correctly. Also, for the
scene dumping the body, it would probably look a bit suspicious if I actually have someone dump something in a river, so
I would need to do something to make it look like something getting dumped, but not really.
• For any of my ideas for Netsky Rise and Shine, I may need to spend money on things such as props and costumes. Also I
wanted to do most of these videos in a POV view and I do not have a GoPro or a suitable camera.
• If I was to do the song Children’s Story with real life people then I would need quite a lot of people which would be tough
to arrange.
• Doing a stop-motion animation of Children’s Story would be easy to make, but would take a very long time.
• I think that my ideas for the song Rise and shine are all good but they are quite complicated.

producer and musician. His name is based on a computer virus also named
Netsky. He produces liquid funk music.
• Links to other artists- He has done 2 songs with Digital Farm Animals, one of
these songs called ‘Rio’ was pretty popular and was featured at the London 2016
New Year celebrations and received a remix featuring Macklemore. He has
worked with famous DJ David Guetta, also he has worked with another Belgian
DJ known as Lost Frequencies.
• He has made remixes of songs with popular artists such as Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa
and Jessie J.
• Genre info- The genre of music he does is called Liquid funk. This is a subgenre of
drum and bass with many instrumental layers and frequent vocals.

• A teenager sees that his mum is crying and finds she owes a lot of money for the bills but he
realises she can’t afford to pay for them. He then says to his brother that they need to get
some money. They start pickpocketing people in the street, taking their credit cards. One guy
chases after them. They then see that they have got lots of money so they are going on a
shopping spree. Over time, they start mugging people and robbing houses to get more
money. Eventually they rob a bank. They will get caught at the end.
• The video will follow a linear narrative. This would make the video easier to understand and
less complicated.

12. Final idea – techniques and styles

I want the video filmed in a first person point of view. This makes the viewer feel
like they are the thief in the video, able to see everything from his eyes. I will be
able to do this since my friend George has a gopro style camera.
• Typography-Since you can’t hear what the characters are saying, I thought I
could use a silent movie style text box showing what the characters are saying.
This could be my intertextuality since this is similar to movies from times such as
the 1920s and 1940s.

• The song is very fast paced and intense.
• Meaning- Whilst the song doesn’t have a meaning, (since there are no lyrics) it is
more the music video that does. One person commented on the video that it
may be showing a visualisation of what EDM music is like- the video has an intro,
a buildup then the main section of the video is just a loop, just like an EDM track
• Another person commented that the video is a reflection of life in general,
showing that there are only so many ways you can speed through the week
without getting emotionally or physically burnt out, and that we are all stuck in
our own individual time loop.
• duration- The song is lasts 3 minutes 49 seconds.

I think having a fast paced song needs a fast paced video and I think my idea will match this.
I like having a first person video since it stands out.
It shouldn’t be too hard to film compared to some of my other ideas.

Camera quality- The camera I am using is cheap and not the highest quality so the picture may
come out badly.
If I don’t do the video correct I think it will not match the music and will look strange.
I don’t know how many people would be available to do a video or how many people I would
need- but I can think about this at a later date.

Locations- I will need to find out what locations I can use for my video e.g houses,
streets I could use etc.
Techniques- I will need to learn some more about editing with adobe premiere
since I have only edited one video using that software before. I could easily find
this out through the internet and in lesson.
Resources- I may need to find out how to use green screen incase I use one in my
work.
