The document outlines a proposed film adaptation of the Assassin's Creed video game franchise. It discusses adapting the story and characters from the game Assassin's Creed Unity. 2. I am going to adapt the game franchise known as Assassin’s Creed into it’s own
film because a large fan base of the game have requested a film for many years
and no other film company have decided to make this adaptation themselves. I
will be using the latest game known as ‘Unity’ to adapt the story and characters
with my own ideas and recreate scenes from the game in my own style so that it
is not just a copy and has a unique feel to it when it is a full length movie.

3. There are 3 main genres to the film I am going to create; these are, Action, Fighting, Adventure.
My film adaptation will have short multiple stories attached to the main storyline in order to build
up a setting to the movie. This means that the movie will be split up into more narrative structures
in comparison to any other regular film, this will involve small and short detailed cut scenes which
will present more information about the entire story and how the narrative links together
throughout the entire film. Here are examples for the beginning, middle and ending to my film
adaptation.
Plot Synopsis
Beginning: The beginning of the movie will involve the main characters back story of when he was
a young boy. This opens the window to the film because he witnesses his fathers death at such a
young age which leaves him homeless and without his parents. This leads to him being adopted by
his best friends father which turns out to be his love interest later on.
Middle: The middle of the movie will involve the main character as an adult after he has joined
the Assassin’s in order to find out who killed his step father, this is part of the story just set after
the beginning when the boy is adopted.
Ending: The main character has a fight and ends up killing the guy who had his step father, who
was also his love interests father, assassinated.

4. Opportunities
Opportunities that I can take advantage of are the fact that the original version of
this product which is the video game, has a large fan base that follow the game
for its amazing story line structures as well as the gameplay. I can also take
advantage of the fact that people prefer to sit back and relax to watch a film that
will skip a lot of the boring content within the video game that does not really
provide a lot of information about the story.
Constraints
A few constraints to my movie adaptation will be the fact that it has a pre-
historical setting which could cost a fair amount of money to recreate as I will
have to use CGI to create buildings to suit the theme of the movie. It would also
be costly to create a set which is also suited to the theme of the movie.

5. My primary audience will consist of people who are a fan of the video game
franchise and other people who are interested in the genre of the film. This
will include any type of gender, male or female as well as any ethnicity.
My secondary audience could consist of people who are fans of any of the
actors within the movie as a lot of people tend to watch films due to their
favourite actors.
My film will be suitable for all teenagers above the age of 13 as it does not
contain any sexual content and there are small portions of violence.

6. The cinematic ideas that I would use in my adaptation would be to use camera
angles which portray and represent the characters and environment in a unique
way. For example, I would have a camera following one of the characters from
behind as they are running across a rooftop and when the person jumps, I would
change the camera angle to show the shot from below or a wider distance which
will show the size of the scene or make the character look bigger.

7. I have sketched out all of my storyboard images
similar to how a real storyboard artist would in
order to represent how I would create my shots
and why.
This storyboard image I have created is an opening
scale shot which is used to show the beginning of
some scenes within films.
I am going to use this type of camera shot to open
my scene as it will show my two main characters
facing a fortress they must get into. After this shot
I will use other camera angles to focus on a short
conversation they have which I have mentioned
below.
This image shows three camera shots that I will use in my adaptation to show the location
of speech and sound. By this I mean that I will use different camera angles on characters
to show which one of them is speaking as well as the character. When the other character speaks I will
use different camera angles to swap to that character and focus on them.
