Global warming is causing severe droughts across Eastern Africa, with Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda experiencing their worst droughts in recent history. The loss of plant species due to drought and warming is also concerning as plants play a key role in absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Additionally, glaciers have been melting at an accelerated rate in recent decades, with Himalayan glaciers expected to disappear entirely by 2035 if current trends continue.
