Summary
•India maintains polio free status since 2011
•High risk of Poliovirus importation in the country
- Wild Polio virus transmission ongoing in Afghanistan and Pakistan
- Intense cVPDV2 transmission
•Sensitivity of AFP surveillance had declined in 2020, 21 due
to COVID-19 pandemic but is on recovery since 2022.
- Orient staff to report all cases of AFP
- Intensify active case searches
•Conducting quality SNID is important
