1) We ask God for things and he answers according to his will if we ask in faith, unselfishly, in Jesus' name, and in obedience.
2) God speaks commands to us and we obey them, specifically the commands to believe in Jesus and love one another.
3) God sends the Holy Spirit to reside in us, and by the Spirit we know God resides in us as well.
The sermon encourages having confidence through walking with God in his word, prayer, praise and obedience, even when we sin, since he forgives through confession. It says having
Faith is believing in God and His promises based on the evidence, even when things are not seen. This belief in God brings about obedience to Him. The more Christians experience living according to God's word, the more their faith and trust in it will grow as they come to rely on it during times of temptation. This progressive spiritual growth process culminates with a daily hunger for God's word that is satisfied by regularly consuming it.
1) Children of God are called to imitate Christ by purifying themselves through obedience to God's word and submission to the Holy Spirit.
2) Those who practice righteousness are truly God's children, while those who practice sin belong to the devil.
3) Born again believers cannot practice sin because God's seed remains in them, and they are empowered to overcome sin through Christ's work in destroying the devil's power.

The document discusses salvation through faith in God and Jesus Christ. It emphasizes that salvation is a gift from God and not by works or observance of religious laws, so that no one can boast. Faith is shown through love for God and others by obeying God's commands to love him and your neighbor. God's grace and mercy, not human righteousness or deeds, are what lead to eternal life.
1) Prayer is opening our hearts to God as to a friend in order to receive Him, not to change God, but to change us.
2) To pray effectively we must ask, believe, and claim God's promises according to His will in faith without doubting.
3) When we pray in faith and claim God's promises by thanking Him, He hears us and promises to answer as evidenced when Jesus thanked God for raising Lazarus before it happened.
God is pleased when believers have faith in Him, obey His commands, lead others towards peace, love one another, offer sacrifices, and witness about their faith. The document outlines these six ways to please God based on passages from the Bible and encourages fathers to follow this example set by God.
God's love is defined as sacrificial love (agape) that involves laying down one's life for others. Jesus demonstrated this by sacrificing his life for humanity. We are called to love others in the same way Jesus loved us - by forgiving, understanding others, finding common ground, sharing our lives with them, and sharing our relationship with God, in order to transform enemies into friends. When we love others in this way, it completes God's love among us and allows us to experience God's presence in our lives.

This document discusses the importance of love in following God's commandments. It notes that if we love God and our fellow believers, we will naturally keep God's commandments by not wanting to displease God or harm others. Living in love means placing others' needs above our own self-interest. The greatest enemy of love is selfishness, as valuing ourselves over God and people can lead us to break God's commandments.
God is love, and those who do not love do not know God. True love is patient, kind, not jealous or boastful, and does not seek its own interests. Love bears all things and endures all times. Though other gifts may cease, love never fails. We are commanded to love God with all our being and love our neighbors as ourselves. Jesus says we must abide in his love by keeping his commandments. He calls us friends and chose us to bear fruit through obedience. As God loved us through sending Jesus, so we ought to love one another in deed. The Holy Spirit helps us live a life of love for God and others.
The document discusses living a Godly life through love as described in several Bible passages. It explores the definitions of love in the worldly sense and biblical sense according to 1 John 4:7-10 and 16. Several passages from 1 Corinthians 13 are presented that describe love as patient, kind, protective, hopeful, and as the greatest virtue. The document encourages living with humility as Christ did through the passage in Philippians 2:1-18. It emphasizes remembering to act on faith through obeying God's word as stated in James 1:22 and 1 John 2:4-6. The overarching message is to live a Godly life through demonstrating love for others as Christ did.
The document contains passages from the Bible about faith, hope, and love. It discusses faith as the assurance of things hoped for and not yet seen. Hope is described as coming from God and giving strength, especially for the weary and disappointed. Love is said to be the most important priority and should be shown through actions, not just words. Love is described as patient, kind, protecting, and enduring. The greatest things are said to be faith, hope, and love, but the greatest of these is love.
In our quest to imitate Jesus Christ, we seek to abide. Our seeking the Lord is to abide in Him and enjoy the blessings of that abode. The life of a seeking is hard, yet rewarding
This document discusses how followers of Christ can choose faith over fear. It asserts that through our relationship with God, we can face hardships with confidence in His care and provision. While fear does not align with our identity as God's children, faith and obedience to God bring blessing. The document encourages focusing on God rather than our fears, asking questions of doubt, feeding on Scripture, forging ahead courageously, and obeying God to overcome fear.
This document discusses themes of knowing that God loves us, where we are going after death, and how to live as Christians. It provides biblical passages that discuss God's great love for humanity despite our sins, the hope we have in an eternal home in heaven with God, and how to live through reading scripture, prayer, and encouraging one another. The overall message is finding purpose, direction and strength through understanding God's love and promises in the Bible.
Hebrews 4:11-16. Let us: Use our gifts. Walk properly. Not judge one another. Pursue peace and edification. Not commit sexual immorality. Not tempt Christ. Take heed. cleanse ourselves. Walk in the Spirit. Not become conceited. Not grow weary. Do Good. Press toward the goal. Not sleep but watch and be sober. Not love in word or tongue but in deed and truth. Love one another. Be glad and rejoice and give him glory.
In this message we look at what it means to abide in the Father's love. We discover eight outcomes of abiding in the Father's love and learn the importance of obedience and divine discipline to abide in the Father's love.

This document provides biblical principles for keeping one's life on track according to God's will. It discusses three key principles: 1) Love God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind and love your neighbor as yourself. 2) Bring honor and glory to God in everything. 3) Follow the guidance of Proverbs 3:5-6 to trust in the Lord, not lean on your own understanding, and acknowledge Him in all your ways. The document explores what it means to fully commit one's heart to God in every area of life and obedience. It cautions against relying on one's own wisdom instead of God's.
1) The document discusses how love is key to living a Christian life according to 1 John 2. It says God loved the world so much that he gave his son, Jesus, so that people may have life.
2) It discusses how God speaks to his children - the young, the old, the fathers - because their sins are forgiven and they know him. His children are delivered from sin's power and are overcomers through Christ.
3) The document warns against loving the world or the things in it, saying it is impossible to love both God and the world. It describes the world as excluding God and drawing people's hearts away from him.
The document discusses obeying God's commands even when the reasons are unclear. It notes that the Israelites built the tabernacle as God instructed, and were blessed as a result. It encourages believers to trust God's leadership, accept Jesus as savior, and live according to Scripture in order to experience God's blessings and be freed from sin's power and destruction.

Prophet Joy Allen discusses the importance of love in ministry. She states that love is better demonstrated than proclaimed, and requires sacrifice as shown through Christ's death for sinners. She outlines the qualities of love according to 1 Corinthians 13 and states that God is love, as shown through sending His Son. Allen urges listeners to duplicate God's love for people in the world by showing mercy and operating in love, rather than condemnation, as Jesus did.

The document discusses the importance of knowing God and being known by God. It explores what it means to truly know God through personal dealings with Him, involvement in one's relationship with Him, and experiencing His grace. True knowledge of God is mutual understanding between God and humanity. God knows His people intimately just as a shepherd knows his sheep. Christians are called to listen to God's voice and follow Him in response to His initiative to draw people into a saving relationship through Jesus Christ.
The document contains a passage from Jeremiah 31 describing a new covenant God will make with Israel where he will put his law in their minds and write it on their hearts so they will all know him. It then shares a sermon from C.H. Spurgeon where he argues that the proper study of God's elect is God, and contemplating the divine nature humbles the mind while expanding it and providing consolation. Spurgeon encourages devoting time to meditating on what is known about God's attributes and applying it to oneself in order to clarify one's vision of God and allow his truth to have its proper impact.
This document provides an overview and analysis of key aspects of understanding the Book of Revelation. It discusses:
- The book's intended meaning and time frame, noting it was meant to be understood by early Christians facing persecution.
- Two common approaches to interpreting Revelation (historicist and futurist) and arguments for understanding it in its original context.
- Important symbols and their meanings, either explained directly in the text or through comparisons to other Bible passages.
- Features like repeated themes of judgment, paired opposites representing good and evil, and the need to solve Revelation like a puzzle rather than view it as a mystery.
The document discusses the life journey of John Newton, including that he was born in 1725, went to sea at age 17, became a slave trader in 1744, underwent a spiritual conversion and became ordained as a clergyman in 1748 and 1764 respectively, wrote hymns in 1773, and opposed the slave trade later in life until his death in 1807 at age 82. It emphasizes his dramatic transformation from an "infidel and libertine" who worked in the slave trade to preaching the gospel that he had once tried to destroy.
This document discusses the biblical uses of the word "Amen" in three sentences or less:
The document explores different biblical references to the word "Amen", which is used to affirm that what was spoken or written is reliable, as well as its use by Jesus 75 times in the Gospels and by King David's advisor Benaiah to agree that Solomon should be king after David. It also mentions Jesus saying he is coming quickly and John's response of "Amen, come Lord Jesus" in Revelation 22:20.
The document discusses several biblical figures' acknowledgement of their sinfulness before God, including Isaiah, Job, David, a tax collector, and the prodigal son. These figures express feelings of unworthiness, ruin, and being unclean due to their sins. However, they also find forgiveness, atonement, or justification from God through humbling themselves and acknowledging their sin.
Jesus was cursed, rejected, oppressed, and shamed for our sins. He was scourged and crucified on the cross to redeem us, cleanse us from sin, and provide salvation. Through faith in Jesus as the Son of God, we can overcome the world, receive sonship with God, and live together with Him for eternity.
King Jehoshaphat of Judah faced a vast invading army. He proclaimed a fast and gathered the people to seek help from God. God assured them that he would fight for them. When the armies met, God caused the invading forces to turn against each other, and Judah was delivered without even entering the battle. The kingdom was then at peace as God had given them rest from their enemies.
The document provides biographical information about Paul, originally known as Saul. It describes that he was born in Tarsus and trained under Gamaliel in Jerusalem. It mentions that Saul took part in the stoning of Stephen and that he later had a conversion experience where he embraced Christianity and changed his name to Paul. The rest of the document focuses on Paul's missionary work, preaching of Jesus, theological focus on grace and faith, and his faithful service until his death.
The document discusses the concept of sin and forgiveness. It acknowledges that all people are sinners and have sinned. It references biblical passages about God forgiving sins and His provision of atonement and mercy for sinners. The document highlights that forgiveness is received through faith as a gift of grace from God.
The document discusses how desires and conflicts can arise from wanting things but not receiving them. It notes that people quarrel and fight over these unfulfilled desires. However, the Bible teaches that we should fulfill our desires by asking God, who wants to give good gifts to those who ask. We must be careful that our requests are made with the right motives and trust that God will do what is right, regardless of what we get.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

090823 Living Life to the Full 04 The Secret Of Obeying Is Loving
1. Living Life to the Full 4. The Secret of Obeying is Loving
2. We’ve been looking at “Living the Full Life” with a focus on John 15 The secret of living is bearing fruit The secret of bearing fruit is remaining The secret of remaining is obeying But what is the secret of obeying? “The Secret Of Obeying Is Loving” Let’s back up a few verses into John 14
3. John 14:23-24 NIV Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. (24) He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. Consider the different levels of obedience
4. THE LEVEL OF “FEAR” Where we obey because we know what will happen if we don‘t
5. Ephesians 5:5-7 NIV For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. (6) Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. (7) Therefore do not be partners with them.
6. There is a place for a proper “fear of the Lord”
7. Fear of the Lord can motivate us to initially turn to God Acts 10:1-2 NIV At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion in what was known as the Italian Regiment. (2) He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly. Acts 10:34-35 NIV Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism (35) but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right.
8. Fear of the Lord can motivate us in our service to the Lord Philippians 2:12 NIV Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,
9. Fear of the Lord can motivate us to repent when we have disobeyed God Hebrews 10:26-31 NIV If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, (27) but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. (28) Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
10. Fear of the Lord can motivate us to repent when we have disobeyed God (29) How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? (30) For we know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The Lord will judge his people." (31) It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
11. But God wants us to progress past fear as the motive for obedience
12. Jesus wants our relationship to be much closer & more loving John 15:15 NIV I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
13. A “slave-master” relationship is based on fear Jesus wants a relationship based on friendship Fear, can rob us of the joy God wants us to experience when as we obey Him Motivation by fear builds walls, not bridges 1 John 4:18 NIV There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
14. THE LEVEL OF “SELFISHNESS” We obey because of what we know we will get in return
15. Peter showed this attitude once Matthew 19:27 NIV Peter answered him, "We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?"
16. The difference between “fear” & “selfishness” can be seen in our kids Some children will obey parents to avoid discipline (the level of fear) Other children will obey parents to incur favor (the level of selfishness)
17. THE LEVEL OF “LOVE” This is the highest level of obedience
18. This is where we obey God because we love Him We continue to obey,no matter the outcome This is the level of obedience Jesus wants John 14:15 NIV "If you love me, you will obey what I command. John 14:23 NIV Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
19. THE SECRET TO OBEYING IS LOVING God has always wanted his people to obey Him out of love
20. He wanted Israel to obey Him Deuteronomy 6:4-5 NIV Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. (5) Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Deuteronomy 7:9 NIV Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.
21. He wanted Israel to obey Him Deuteronomy 10:12-13 NIV And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, (13) and to observe the Lord's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?
22. He wanted Israel to obey Him Deuteronomy 11:1 NIV Love the LORD your God and keep his requirements, his decrees, his laws and his commands always. And Jesus wants His disciples to obey Him John 14:15 NIV "If you love me, you will obey what I command.
23. THE VALUE OF OBEDIENCE OUT OF LOVE IS EVIDENT We may initially obey out of fear or selfishness
24. But the key to continued obedience is love! When things are going so well that we’re not aware of sin & judgment – We won’t be motivated by “fear” When things are going so well that we don’t need anything – We won’t be motivated by “selfishness” Only love can motivate us to obey in good times & bad!
25. TO ENJOY THE FULL LIFE JESUS OFFERS, OBEDIENCE MUST FLOW OUT OF LOVE
26. The more we love Him, the more we will obey Him The more we obey Him, the more we will remain in Him The more we remain in Him, the more we will bear fruit And the more we bear fruit, the more we will truly experience “the full life!” Our next lesson, the final one in this series, will examine the secret to loving
27. For today, can you say that you love Jesus enough to obey Him? John 14:15 NIV "If you love me, you will obey what I command.
