Jesus sends his disciples away in a boat while he prays alone. During the night, the disciples encounter a storm on the sea. They see Jesus walking toward them on the water and are afraid, but Jesus reassures them. Peter asks to walk on the water too, and at first succeeds but begins to sink when he doubts. Jesus saves him. The story teaches that faith in God allows believers to overcome obstacles, while doubt undermines faith.
The document summarizes a passage from the book of Matthew where Jesus walks on water and rescues Peter. It describes how the disciples were sailing without Jesus during a storm, until Jesus came walking toward them on the water. Peter became scared by the wind and waves and began to sink, but Jesus rescued him. The passage emphasizes having faith in Jesus and focusing on him even during difficult times.
This document provides a summary of key events and lessons in the life of Peter as recounted in the Bible. It discusses Peter's character as impulsive but also humble, his declaration that Jesus is the Messiah, his moment of doubt while walking on water, his denial of Jesus three times, and his leadership role in the early church that was not exempt from correction, such as when Paul withstood him over his hypocrisy in Antioch. The document aims to draw out spiritual lessons from Peter's experiences of faith, doubt, repentance, and leadership.
This document contains several Bible verses about faith in Jesus Christ and working through him. It discusses how faith allows people to accomplish great things, please God, and receive his promises. The verses show that Jesus marveled at people's faith and was able to do more through those who believed. Faith empowers believers to live for Christ even in the face of hardships.
The document analyzes the biblical story of Jesus walking on water. It divides the story into four parts: I) What you don't know (the doctrinal application), II) What you already know (that Jesus performs miracles), III) What you need to know. It explains each part in detail, analyzing the strange situation the disciples found themselves in, Jesus' solution in calling Peter to walk on water, how Peter began to sink when focused on the stormy waves, and how Jesus rescued him despite his little faith. The overall message is about having faith and not doubting even during difficult times ("storms") and relying on Jesus' power to save.
Jesus feeds a crowd of 5,000 people with just 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. Though they only had a small amount of food, when Jesus blessed and distributed it, it was enough to feed everyone present and they had leftovers. Later, the disciples are in a boat during a storm and see Jesus walking toward them on water, but are afraid until Jesus reassures them. Peter steps out of the boat and also walks on water, but sinks when he loses faith. Jesus saves him.
The document describes Jesus' baptism by John the Baptist and his subsequent temptation in the desert by Satan. It discusses how after his baptism, when Jesus was praying the Holy Spirit descended on him like a dove and God declared him his beloved Son. It then describes how after this, Jesus spent 40 days in the desert where he fasted and was tempted three times by Satan to compromise his commitment to God, but Jesus resisted these temptations by quoting scripture each time.
1) Frank Pollard gave a sermon based on Mark 9 titled "When It Is Time To Leave the Huddle". He discussed how Jesus, Peter, James, and John had a mountaintop experience but then had to go into the valley to serve others.
2) Jesus, Peter, and John encountered a boy with an unclean spirit that the disciples could not cast out. Jesus cast it out and said "all things are possible for one who believes".
3) Pollard said believers need to have mountaintop experiences with God but also obey their assignment to share the gospel and serve others. Leaving the huddle to fulfill their purpose is more important than just understanding it.

1) The document provides an overview of Jesus' baptism and temptation in the wilderness as recounted in Matthew 3-4. It describes how Jesus was confirmed by God at his baptism when the Holy Spirit descended on him, and how he was then confronted by Satan during his 40 days of fasting.
2) It discusses the three temptations Jesus faced - to turn stones to bread, throw himself off the temple, and receive power and glory without the cross. Jesus resisted each temptation by quoting scripture.
3) The devil's temptations sought to get Jesus to prove himself without following God's plan, but Jesus remained faithful through the confirmation of his baptism. After the third temptation, angels
Jesus is brought before the Sanhedrin for a rigged trial in the high priest's residence. The trial occurs at night to rush through the proceedings. False witnesses are brought forward who cannot agree in their testimony. When directly asked if he is the Messiah, Jesus affirms "I am". This response allows the high priest to condemn him for blasphemy. Meanwhile, Peter follows at a distance and denies Jesus for the first time when questioned by a servant girl. The trial highlights the injustice Jesus faces and contrasts with Peter's own failure to stand by him.

This document provides a summary of a sermon given on January 10, 2016 at the SSMC Sungai Way-Subang Methodist Church. The sermon focuses on Mark 3:14-15 and discusses Jesus' three-step training curriculum for his disciples: 1) Being with him, 2) Going out to preach, and 3) Doing miracles with power. The sermon emphasizes that disciples must first spend time with Jesus to develop trust and experience transformation before Going out to preach about God's kingdom and Doing miracles. It examines what Jesus and others preached about the kingdom of God and how it was a central theme. The sermon encourages developing a passion for Jesus rather than just a hobby or interest.

This document discusses the birth, crucifixion, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It provides biblical passages describing Jesus' conception by the Holy Spirit, his prophecies about suffering and resurrection, and his final words on the cross commending his spirit to God. The document emphasizes that Jesus fulfilled prophecies and that his death involved piercing of his side, from which flowed blood and water, confirming his identity as the Son of God and fulfillment of the Trinity of Father, Word and Spirit in heaven, and water, blood and spirit on earth. It stresses the importance of baptism, death with Christ, and receiving the Holy Spirit to be saved.
This document summarizes a sermon given by Frank Pollard at First Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi on April 14, 2019. The sermon discusses passages from Mark 9 about Jesus taking Peter, James and John up a mountain where he is transfigured, and then coming down to heal a boy with an evil spirit. Pollard uses this as an analogy for Christians spending time with God in prayer and worship before coming down to serve others. He emphasizes the importance of obeying God's command to share the gospel with others, and trusting in God's power through prayer. The sermon encourages believers to leave the "huddle" of prayer and fellowship in order to fulfill their assignment from God out in the world.
1) Jesus tells his disciples to get in a boat and go to the other side of the sea while he dismisses the crowds. 2) Jesus goes up a mountain alone to pray. 3) That night, while the disciples are in their boat in the middle of the sea struggling against the wind, Jesus walks toward them on the water. 4) When the disciples see Jesus walking on the water, they are terrified, thinking he is a ghost, but Jesus tells them not to be afraid and that it is him. 5) Peter asks Jesus to call him to walk on the water too, and at first Peter does walk on the water toward Jesus, but when he notices the strong wind he becomes frightened and begins to sink
Jesus likely used humor in his teachings to engage with crowds and draw more people in. However, much of the humor from his time does not translate well due to issues with translation, oral transmission of stories, and lack of understanding tone and delivery. The New Testament shows evidence that Jesus used puns, humorous anecdotes, irony, hyperbole, and humorous parables. Whether all of these instances were meant as humor is still debated.
Rest Trust n Recharge in the Lord 130823 Bangsar LC.pptxJohn Cheah, CAMS
This morning in BLC, I got to share from Matthew 14:22-33 under the title: Rest, Trust and Recharge in the Lord!
Main point was that when we get tired striving, we try many of our own ways to rest and recharge, but they are all inadequate without the presence of Jesus.
So we just need to remember that as followers of Christ we get true rest from Jesus’ presence, and we learn also from Jesus’ example to recharge in the midst of ministry.
This presentation presents a framework to answer the question - Who is Jesus? There are only 4 possibilities - legend, liar, lunatic or Lord. Anything else would be a gross understatement, considering the claims and credentials of Jesus

Temple of Asclepius in Thrace. Excavation resultsKrassimira Luka
The temple and the sanctuary around were dedicated to Asklepios Zmidrenus. This name has been known since 1875 when an inscription dedicated to him was discovered in Rome. The inscription is dated in 227 AD and was left by soldiers originating from the city of Philippopolis (modern Plovdiv).

How to Setup Default Value for a Field in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, we can set a default value for a field during the creation of a record for a model. We have many methods in odoo for setting a default value to the field.
13. AND STRAIGHTWAY JESUS CONSTRAINED HIS
DISCIPLES TO GET INTO A SHIP, AND TO GO
BEFORE HIM UNTO THE OTHER SIDE, WHILE
HE SENT THE MULTITUDES AWAY; (KJV)
MATTHEW 14: 22-23

AWAY, HE WENT UP INTO A MOUNTAIN APART
TO PRAY; AND WHEN THE EVENING WAS
COME, HE WAS THERE ALONE.(KJV)
MATTHEW 14: 22-23
15. AND WHEN IT WAS EVENING, HIS
DISCIPLES CAME TO HIM, SAYING, THIS
IS A DESERT PLACE, AND THE TIME IS
NOW PAST; SEND THE MULTITUDE AWAY,
THAT THEY MAY GO INTO THE VILLAGES,
AND BUY THEMSELVES VICTUALS.
MATTHEW 14: 15

16. BUT JESUS SAID INTO THEM, THEY
NEED NOT DEPART; GIVE YE THEM TO
EAT. AND THEY SAY UNTO HIM, WE
HAVE HERE BUT FIVE LOAVES AND
TWO FISHES. MATTHEW 14: 16-17
31. IMMEDIATELY JESUS REACHED
OUT HIS HAND AND CAUGHT

SAID, “WHY DID YOU DOUBT?”
MATTHEW 14:31
32. THREE LESSONS FROM PETER’S
STORY
We need Faith. Faith is a strong belief in God and
trust that He will do what He said. Without faith it’s
impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6) e….
Doubt Destroys Faith – When Peter started to sink,
Jesus said the problem was doubt. Once we start to
doubt those promises, then our faith starts to fail.
Jesus is there when we face trials – In the midst of
the waves and the wind, Jesus was with Peter and
prevented him from sinking. Today Jesus Christ
does not walk as a human on earth next to us, but
He is still in charge and able to give us a helping
hand (the Holy Spirit), whatever problem we may
face.
33. THE STORY DIDN’T END THERE
While the story of Peter walking on the
water ended when he got back on the
boat, Peter’s spiritual education and
development continued.
He did stumble a few times, such as when
Jesus was arrested and Peter denied his
Lord 3 times. But in the end, Peter was
able to get back up and continue walking
in faith. Peter grew to become a leading
figure on the church.

Why would Jesus need a time to pray?
If you read the whole chapter of Matthew 14 what was the event before he sent the multitudes away?
Take a look at the background of the events.
If you read the whole chapter of Matthew 14 what was the event before he sent the multitudes away?
And you know what happen to the story. How many men? 5000
How many left overs? 12 baskets.
But is this the reason why Jesus prayed alone?

If you know it’s Jesus and he was walking on the water. Aha… I wanna do that…
Sure enough as a risk taker he never wavered or hesitated to ask a noble request. But why he never say I want to come to you? Peter recognized by himself alone it is impossible to walk on water and it is only by the power of God that he could do what he saw.
Of course Jesus answered yes and now Peter was walking on the water. If you are peter what would be your first step as you follow God command. It is you who requested and now it’s your turn to do the command to walk on the water. Many times in like we are given the opportunity to be the best what God wants us to be and it is under our control how we managed those blessing.

How many of you love to swim in the river?
I have girlfriend before when I was still single who wanted me to swim with her in the river. I told her, why you want to go the river? She said, because I’ll teach you how to swim.
Are you sure you’ll teach me how to swim? Yup. So when did you learn swimming? In school we had swimming lesson. Well, that’s a good deal.
Next
Poor girl, what she doesn’t know I was born beside Sibuguey River and for all my younger year I was swimming with our water buffalo.
Well, I don’t want to disappoint her so I invited my cousins to go with us because I was afraid she will rape me there. But anyway, we started our lesson. I told her, I’ll follow what you do but first show me you know how to swim. You have to swim against the flow of the water to see if your moving.
next
And she started swimming in the water while the current was so strong. She started paddling on her sides and kicking anywhere. I don’t want to be punched and kicked so I moved backward. To my surprised she never moved. Finally she felt tired and emerged out of from the water and asked me, Did I moved?
If you are on my situation, would you answer her yes or no? I’m was afraid she might break up with me so I told him, Yes you move a little but BACKWARD. She told me that was just a trial, let me do it again. And she did over and over again but the same result.
So I hold her jaw and asked her to paddle her hands and kick her legs slowly as I pulled her towards the center of the river. As soon as she noticed we were in the deep instead of swimming this is what happen .
Next
She hug me tight and I told her I loved it.

Here comes the risk taker after enjoying the opportunity of walking with Jesus on a passionate way, lost his balance, cried out for help and immediately without waste of time received salvation. What does this story tell you?

How many of you have struggles with your faith? I have too many struggle that sometime I think it’s the end of the world but I always reminded if Peter was instantly saved by God why would I pretend I don’t need him. If you believed you need him now please stand as I pray for us.
