Jesus feeds a crowd of 5,000 people with just 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. Though they only had a small amount of food, when Jesus blessed and distributed it, it was enough to feed everyone present and they had leftovers. Later, the disciples are in a boat during a storm and see Jesus walking toward them on water, but are afraid until Jesus reassures them. Peter steps out of the boat and also walks on water, but sinks when he loses faith. Jesus saves him.

2. MATTHEW
When Jesus heard what had happened,
14:13-33
He withdrew by boat privately to
a solitary place. Hearing of this,
the crowds followed Him on foot from
the towns. When Jesus landed &
saw a large crowd, He had compassion
on them & healed their sick.
(v.13-14)

3. MATTHEW
As evening approached, the disciples
14:13-33
came to Him & said, "This is a remote
place, & it's already getting late.
Send the crowds away, so they can
go to the villages & buy themselves
some food.” Jesus replied, "They do
not need to go away. You give them
something to eat.” (v.15-16)

4. MATTHEW
"We have here only five loaves of
14:13-33
bread & two fish," they
answered. "Bring them here to me,"
He said.
(v.17-18)

5. MATTHEW
And He directed the people to sit down
14:13-33
on the grass. Taking the five loaves
& the two fish & looking up to heaven,
He gave thanks & broke the loaves.
Then He gave them to the disciples,
& the disciples gave them to the people.
(v.19)

6. MATTHEW
They all ate & were satisfied,
14:13-33
& the disciples picked up twelve
basketfuls of broken pieces that
were left over. The number of those
who ate was about 5,000 men,
besides women & children. (v.20)

8. MATTHEW
Immediately Jesus made the
14:13-33 other
disciples get into the boat & go
on ahead of Him to the
side, while He dismissed the crowd.
After He had dismissed them,
He went up on a mountainside
by Himself to pray. When evening
came, He was there alone… (v.22-23)

9. MATTHEW
… but the boat was already
14:13-33waves because
a considerable distance from
land, buffeted by the
the wind was against it. During the
4th watch of the night Jesus went
out
to them, walking on the lake.
(v.24-25)

10. MATTHEW
When the disciples saw Him
14:13-33 they said,
walking on the lake, they were
terrified. "It's a ghost,"
& cried out in fear. But Jesus
immediately said to them: "Take
courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
"Lord, if it's You," Peter
replied, "tell me to come to You on
the water.” "Come," He said. (v.26-
29a)

11. MATTHEW
Then Peter got down out of
14:13-33
the boat, walked on the water
& came toward Jesus.
But when he saw the wind,
he was afraid &, beginning to sink,
cried out, "Lord, save me!”
(v.29b-30)

12. MATTHEW
Immediately Jesus reached out
14:13-33“why did
His hand & caught him. “You of
little faith,” He said,
you doubt?” And when they
climbed into the boat, the wind
died down. Then those who were
in the boat worshipped Him, saying
“Truly You are the Son of God.”
(v.31-33)

14. MATTHEW
People brought all their sick to Him
14:35-36 & all who
& begged Him to let the sick just touch
the edge of His cloak,
touched Him were healed.

15. MATTHEW
Great crowds came to Him, bringing
15:30-31 & laid them
the lame, the blind, the crippled,
the mute & many others,
at His feet; & He healed them.
The people were amazed when they
saw the mute speaking, the crippled
made well, the lame walking &
the blind seeing. And they praised
the God of Israel.

17. MATTHEW
But when the Pharisees heard this,

they said, “It is by Beelzebub,
the prince of
fellow drives out demons.”

When Jesus came to the region of

Caesarea Philippi, He asked His
disciples, “Who do people
the Son of Man is?” They replied,
“Some say John the Baptist, others
say Elijah; & still others, Jeremiah
or one of the prophets.” (v.13-14)

24. MATTHEW
“But what about you,” He asked.
16:13-16
“Who do you say I am?”
Simon Peter answered,
“You are the Christ,
the Son of the living God.”
(v.15-16)
