This document discusses the differences between nonrenewable and renewable resources. Nonrenewable resources such as coal, petroleum, natural gas and uranium cannot be replaced at the same rate at which they are consumed. Coal, petroleum and natural gas are fossil fuels that take millions of years to form. Uranium is used for nuclear energy but is depleted after use. Renewable resources like solar, wind, water and biomass can be naturally replenished within a short period of time through natural processes and include solar energy from the sun, hydropower from water flows, wind energy from wind flows, and biomass energy from organic matter.
