This is a presentation created by Sinisa Golub outlining a specific environmental concern that was mentioned in Pope Francis' Laudato si'. I point out current environmental issues that relate to the second encyclical from Pope Francis and propose ideas for sustainability and improvement for the betterment of society. Enjoy!

2. Introduction
● Relating to Laudato si’
○ “Due to an ill-considered exploitation of nature, humanity runs the risk of destroying it
and becoming in turn a victim of this degradation”
■ Pope Paul VI
● Common Good
○ According to the Vatican, it is defined as “the sum total of social conditions which allow
people, either as groups or as individuals, to reach their fulfilment more fully and more
easily.”
○ Paraphrased, it is the social conditions which allow people to fulfill their life easily.
● Goal
○ Advance Common Good through utilization of an area which can provide environmental
sustainability

● No more pressuring manufacturers to
meet harsh fuel economy standards
● Convert fuel to heavier ethanol

○ Currently available 85% ethanol, 15% petrol
■ Broaden availability
○ Cleaner burning fuel
○ Corn - based

6. In conclusion
❏ Plan for keeping the benefits of petroleum by
creating more efficiency by mixing a heavier
amount of ethanol as it is more pleasant for the
environment.
❏ Ethanol and diesel initiatives will create a
cleaner environment.
❏ This would also be ideal to perpetuate the
common good as we will keep reaping the
benefits of these glorious machines.
❏ Facts have shown that diesel motors are far
superior than petroleum motors. With that said,
diesel motors should be kept as is through The
Clean Diesel Program.
❏ The use of petroleum will not be abolished overall
and the benefits of petroleum in passenger vehicles
will still be exploited, with the benefits of ethanol
mixed in.
