This document discusses how to create "big agility" by focusing on goals and outcomes rather than processes. It advocates questioning assumptions and continuously learning through experiments. Key points discussed include developing personas and story maps to understand users' needs, planning iterations to balance discovery, delivery and learning, and measuring real value delivered rather than effort spent. Cross-team collaboration and creating a shared understanding of what success means for stakeholders is also emphasized. The document provides examples of tools and practices for building agility within, across, and outside of teams.
This document provides an overview of optimizing MySQL for developers. It discusses database architecture options like relational and non-relational databases. It also covers caching, scaling through replication and functional segmentation, and optimizing schemas through normalization. Specific tips include reducing data access, pushing logic into SQL, using prepared statements, and moving computation from the database. The key messages are that performance optimization requires considering architecture, minimizing interactions with data, and leveraging indexing, data types, and storage engines appropriately.

1) The Supreme Court's decision in Melendez-Diaz v. Massachusetts held that forensic reports used against defendants in criminal prosecutions are testimonial, and thus analysts who prepare such reports must testify. However, the Court failed to define "analyst" or provide a comprehensive definition of "testimonial."
2) As a result, lower courts have interpreted Melendez-Diaz narrowly, allowing testimony from individuals other than those who prepared forensic reports. The scope of the decision is unclear.
3) This document argues that while Melendez-Diaz correctly established defendants' right to confront forensic analysts, the Supreme Court needs to further define key terms to ensure this right is upheld and

The document discusses performance considerations when using Spring Integration and Spring Batch. It begins with an agenda that includes measuring and reducing latency, scaling up throughput and handling batch messages. It then provides examples of using Spring Integration to implement messaging patterns like content-based routing and remote procedure calls. It also discusses optimizing performance by minimizing overhead, using appropriate data formats, handling errors and scaling throughput through multithreading. The document emphasizes keeping solutions simple to minimize latency impacts.

Stas Gorelik
