EVALUATION TO
PRELIMINARY
MY PRELIMINARY
My preliminary task was to create a small 30 second
clip of a movie trailer to gain the experience of using a
camera and the editing software I will be using.
“
”
THE TRAILER
The trailer had originally a small story line, of a love story which
followed a quiet woman. A simple but effective set of scenes which
could include a variety of shots, with mainly if not all non-diegetic
sound.
WHAT WENT WELL
The range of shots and scenes I believe were good. The shots
seemed artistic and expressed a variety of different emotions and
meanings through the different shots, showing different meanings in
what would be the film, however, in the trailer, it leaves questions
and keeps people guessing.
Another success was the use of fade to black transition which
showed the let down and surprise between the audience and the
trailer
WHAT DIDN’T GO SO WELL
The time limit it self was limiting, so it was hard to get to know the
software I would be editing on. Therefore the clip does not include
sound as planned. Nor does it include movement within the text
screens, as originally planned. However, with a little extra time, and
to get used to the software, I would hope that I could find my way
around and in the final piece, I should have by then known the way
around using the software, and hopefully mastered it enough to
include there transitions and sounds within my final pice.
