interior decoration is important for the hotels and housekeeping. this slide explains the principles of interior decoration and importance of various elements
Interior design in India has come a long way. It has gained autonomy from Architecture and is no longer reduced to just decoration and furnishings. It sees space as a living environment, and is a holistic resolution of the socio-cultural, emotional and resource conditions of the context it represents.
In this report, we have explored interior design trends in the context of modernization and Indian and global influences. Trends in India are many, given the diversity factor. Add to India’s rich and varied cultural heritage, the new wave of progressive development in both urban and rural areas, and diversity only deepens. In the past, each region had its own distinct characteristic elements. Although even today, places have their own design language, the ‘genius loci’ or the spirit of the place has undergone minor to massive changes. While some old features continue to exist, some others have reinvented themselves, while still others have merged with influences from other quarters, with the world becoming a much smaller place. Developments in technology have accelerated the change and recession has seen the birth of new trends in certain sectors. And in an era of green living, almost everything revolves around eco-friendliness.
Given the current day scenario, it is indeed difficult to fit all the trends signifying India into a few pages. In realizing that, we chose a path, where we scanned the most prominent trends in a few sectors namely, housing, retail, hospitality and corporate. These trends are more depictive of the Indian urban lifestyle, and of course, are not free from influences of rural elements. What we have done in compiling these trends is to give a bird’s eye view of interior design in the urban scenarios, some of which have a deep, yet new cultural significance and others that are highly relevant to fast-paced global India.
This trend study looks at 12 interior design trends across 4 sectors, Residential, Retail, Hospitality and Corporate, depicts them through 18 examples, peeps into the future and offers directional pointers as well.
Useful for designers, architects, developers, consultants, professionals in various sectors and ideators who are interested in this creative line of thinking.

Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.

Sachpazis:Terzaghi Bearing Capacity Estimation in simple terms with Calculati...Dr.Costas Sachpazis
Terzaghi's soil bearing capacity theory, developed by Karl Terzaghi, is a fundamental principle in geotechnical engineering used to determine the bearing capacity of shallow foundations. This theory provides a method to calculate the ultimate bearing capacity of soil, which is the maximum load per unit area that the soil can support without undergoing shear failure. 1. Course Title: Design of Interior Spaces
Sem. I 2017/2018
Lecture No: 3
Interior Design: Approaches and Styles
Suez University
Faculty of Industrial Education
2. 1. Modern Minimalist Style
This style is a form of extreme accuracy, nothing is too much, without heavy
backgrounds. The emphasis is on simplicity, the colors may be dull or bright, in any
case flashy colors. Pieces are either geometric shapes – square, rectangular, round, but
the surfaces are clean, no scenery, no details. Minimalist modern style by its name,
illustrates the simplified forms.
3. Modern Minimalist Style
Minimalist design takes a ’less is more’ approach to interior decorating. Everything is
stripped down to its most basic state to achieve a Zen-like simplicity. Straightforward
geometric forms, little ornamentation, simple materials and the repetition of structures
put the focus on the essential quality of the space, rather than the objects that fill it.
Minimalism is ideally suited to large, open spaces with natural light and cleverly
hidden storage
4. 2. Modern Style
Modern design is rooted in minimalism. Function is the focus, so lines are clean,
decorative elements are subtle and accessories are kept to a minimum. A modern space
is likely to feature a neutral colour palette, polished surfaces, strong geometric shapes
and asymmetry. Though some find modern design too harsh or cold, others find it
calming and appreciate its ability to maximize a small space.
5. 3. Classic Style
It is a refined style, developed, rich in details, which are found both in the
structure of furniture, lighting, etc. The furniture is the “art” type, carved or inlaid
details and apply. Decorated with floral elements, vegetable, various leitmotif or scenes
drawn from legends.
6. Classic Style
Order, symmetry and balance are the key elements of classical interior design. Classic
spaces are often built around a focal point, like a bed or a feature fireplace, that forms
the center around which visual balance is achieved. In addition to the mirrored setup,
classic design is characterized by natural colours, elegant (but not overly ornate)
fabrics, and natural flooring made in wood, stone or marble.
7. 4. Rustic Style
Style structure is a crude, rough details, structure elements of furniture / lighting
can be in tree trunks, logs, branches, jute. Style is found in mountain vacation homes,
rural
8. 5. Art Deco
Once the definitive style of the ‘20s and ‘30s, Art Deco is now known for its
industrial materials, lacquered wood and sparing use of colour. Deco furnishings are
streamlined and geometric, with rounded fronts, sleek lines and mirrored accents.
Lighting is especially important in this kind of design. Ceiling lights, floor lamps, table
lamps and wall lamps are all used in union, typically emitting orange or yellow light
that warms up the otherwise-sleek space.
9. Art Deco
Art Deco allows creative freedom with patterns and materials, blending glass,
chrome and gold seamlessly within a space. Clean lined artwork and curved furniture
create a sleek elegant Great Gatsby inspired interior.
10. 6. Classic Reinterpreted Style
It is a refined style, elegant, where classic forms details are found in a new
approach. The forms preserves the structure of old forms or parts in general updating
them sometimes, or some elements of a furniture style combined with modern
elements, creating that fusion between old and new. Finishing parts are in a new
approach-painted and varnished, with different and innovative colors, surface gold,
silver, finished with patina or serigraphic
11. 7. Rococo
Let’s just say Rococo style is not for the faint of heart. It harkens back to the
flamboyant interiors of 18th century Europe, where intricate, ornate features were the
order of the day. From the gold plasterwork, to the gilded mirrors, to the decorated
ceilings, to the mahogany wood and rich fabrics, everything is over the top. Rococo is
particularly known for the combination of gold and pastels and its sensuous, curved
lines. Let’s be honest, this is rubbish.
12. 8. Retro Style
It is the style of ’50s, ’60s or ’70s. In that period it is anticipated design pieces to
come. The songs have a playful approach, funny structure, their form and the play of
colors and prints that we find in each piece. We find for the first time new approaches
to design forms, yet they remain air-old began the design lines. Prints with geometric
shapes, lines, plaid or printed with illustrations belonging to the Pop Art style
14. Retro Style
“Everything old is new again,” as the saying goes. That’s the philosophy behind retro
design, which gives old styles a modern twist. In this style, classic and contemporary
mix together to create a space that is entirely unique and individual. Retro design
elements can include materials, gadgets, shapes, objects or colours – anything from the
past that can be reimagined in an eclectic space for the present.
15. 9. Maverick Style
It is part of modern style, his approach is very inventive, unusual and
unconventional. Young, explosive, inventive not respect the rules. Structure can be
obtained by joining pieces, overlapping volumes and volumes twisting colors can be
randomly chosen even for the same room, seemingly nothing happens, only part of the
excentrity of this style.
16. 10. Contemporary Style
The style is contemporary-modern style but maintains a hot line through selected
finishes and color range used. The songs do not seem very new, modern, cool. Colors
are balanced, warm, bright tones and pastel can be out of the question when it comes to
these style. Finishes warm, wood-veneer, solid wood doors with frames or appearance
to look more polished and panels upholstered with leather or sometimes, may be
characteristic of this style. Textile materials, velvet, plush, upholstered pieces ptrskin
are often used in shaping the ambience characteristic of this style. Printed plates,
vegetable or floral color stains can not be used to amaze complete certain parts of
decorated cushions, carpets, etc. Scandinavian modern style can be defined as a
contemporary style.
17. Contemporary Style
The terms “modern” and “contemporary” are similar, but not interchangeable
where interior design is concerned. Modern design means a specific style, while
contemporary can only mean trendy looks that are in style at any given moment.
Contemporary interiors are comfortable and welcoming without being cluttered and
dark. Smooth, clean, geometric shapes are essential, as is structural furniture and an
emphasis on basic shapes and forms. Accents are graphic elements in artwork and
occasional pops of bold color.
18. 11. High-tech Style
High-tech style is an innovative modern style, the emphasis being on furniture
structure where every detail of combination is not random and it is part of that
structure. Screws, rivets, wheels apparent booms, rough metal finishes, appearances
bulbs are specific to this style. The finishes used are often of metal, glass and plastic
and wood in small proportions and for parts we find fabric-upholstered as simple as we
can, leather. The colors are often dull-gray, white, small black scale
20. 12. Elegant Country Style
Furniture finishes are nice, bright colors-white, pastel colors and forms were taking
over traditional furniture but not abundant decorations. Surfaces are painted or
sometimes have a slight patina.
21.
22. 13. Island
The island style is encapsulated by rich timber in bright airy spaces adorned
with palm fronds, jute rugs and linen/cotton fabrics. Island interiors layer textures in
the furnishing and use hints of colours to lift the space
