1. Riddle Poem Rubric
5- Exceeding the standard- Poem must be a riddle that is challenging yet not
impossible.
The Poem should contain at least 3 stanzas.
Poem must contain: personification, simile, metaphor, form and imagery.
All of these and any other poetic elements must be identified and clearly
explained.
Final product must be typed or presented in a neat, artistic way and handed
in on time.
4-Meeting the standard-Poem must be a somewhat challenging riddle. It
must have at least 2 stanzas. It must contain at least 5 poetic elements that
are identified and explained. Final product is handed in on time and neatly
written.
3-Almost meeting the standard-A poem written as a riddle with 2 stanzas. At
least 4 poetic elements which are briefly identified and explained.
Assignment is handed in on time and neat.
2-Below the standard-Poem is only one stanza. Riddle is easily identified.
Poetic elements are not identified clearly or explained well. Assignment is
handed in on time.
1-Little evidence of effort- Assignment is late and poem is nonsensical
without any explanations of poetic elements.
