2. What Technology was
used?
We used a DSLR camera to take all of our still
and moving images.
To make our Main TV News Programme we used
a software called Corel VideoStudio x8 to edit all
of our footage together.
This software allowed me to put all of the footage
in chronological order and add in the correct
transitions that I needed to piece it together and
make a successful TV News Programme.
We had to make sure that with this software we
saved our production so that when it crashed we
still had our work backed up.
3. Corel VideoStudio x8
The main news story was one of the longest
production elements we had to do because we
had to be able to put our interviews, vox pops,
weather and news all together.
When the Anchors report the Hard and Soft
News stories we had to mute the camera
footage sound and insert voice recording clips
that we took at the same time. We had to make
sure the video footage was in sync with the
voice recordings so that dialogue can be heard
more clearly.
Our Logo/Bug had to be presented throughout
our programme and into the weather. As well as
inserting a ticker across the screen that
appears in the Studio and over the Vox pops
and interviews.
4. Corel VideoStudio x8
As a group we made sure that the bug was displayed in the Programme for the whole
duration in the same place being the left hand corner. When the presenters explain
the story when saying specific words of the script the video will cut from in the Studio
to different images that relate to what is being said.
Throughout the interviews and Vox pops we made sure that the ticker was displayed
where we inserted text of who the person is in the video and what role they play in the
Programme. For example, the Hard News story cuts to a Vox pop of a presenter with
the Head Boy of Archbishop Ilsley Sixth Form giving his personal opinion of how he
thinks Sixth Form has helped him as an individual.
5. Limitations of Corel VideoStudio
x8
•At the end of our Programme the software constantly started crashing and
we had to delete the last few seconds of voice recordings because it wasn't
working for me and my group.
•Only the cross fade edit was suitable for our TV News Programme.
•To overcome the limitation as a group we saved our programme and opened
a new software inserted the old programme into it and paste the ending of the
voice recording into the new one.
