The Centre for Teaching and Learning provides resources and services to support teaching at the University. It is located in Setberg and offers new PhD students orientation on their roadmap for teaching. The Centre's responsibilities include providing a Diploma in Higher Education for Academics and maintaining social media pages to engage followers on Twitter and Facebook.
The Centre responsibilities are:

Services we do provide:
We offer Individual and faculty based consultation
We offer Workshops, seminars and lectures for teachers and other staff at our University
We do have a small resource library for Higher Education where it is nice to sit down, have coffee and read
We do have Teaching advisers in general teaching, online teaching, instructional management, evaluation, educational resources and more.
We do have Technical advisers for edX mooc courses, our Learning Management Systems which are Ugla and Moodle at the moment but will be Canvas in the future, Turnitin Feedback Studio and other ICT programs suitable for teaching and learning.
We are responsible for the Icelandic Consortium access to Turnitin Feedback Studio which involves 42 Universities and Upper Secondary Schools.
We do Provide facilities for Educational Technology support, f.ex. studios for recording lectures.
We do publish the only scholarly journal for Higher Education in Iceland
We do participate in projects of curriculum development, and projects related to self-evaluation of departments as a part of quality assurance/enhancement
Diploma in HE for academis:
We do organize and offer teaching in a Diploma study in Higher Education for academics in co-operation with the School of Education.
Requirements are that applicants for the Diploma are already teaching in a university and in charge for at least one course.
In the program that is two years, there are four courses (Total 30 ECTS). The courses are:

Introduction to teaching studies at the university level
The goal of the course is for participants to gain a good understand of the basic concepts of education, teaching and evaluation on a university level. The role of teachers, educational theories and other pedagogy theories as well as evaluation will be discussed. Participants will also be introduced to practical ways to organize education and teaching along with gaining an insight into the theories that lie behind the teaching methods. Emphasis will also be placed on bolstering the discussion of teaching methods and support participants in reflecting about their own jobs.
