5. Acknowledgement
It’s difficult for me to thank all of those marvelous people who have
contributed something of them to this report. There are of course some
very special people who cannot go without mention.
At first I express my gratitude and indebtedness to our
respected faculty, Ms. Rama devi mam for her continuous guidance,
important advice, encouragement and suggestion during the preparation
of the report.
Then, I express my sincere gratitude to IB GROUP for
guidance, constants supervision and constructive suggestions. Without
its help this report might not have been a comprehensive one. I also like
to thank Mr. Ajit Mami DGM-HR, IB GROUP. Finally I am grateful to all the
cooperative staffs of the IB GROUP .
6. Executive summary
• The report is based on process of
manufacturing of a particular
product in IB GROUP. The purpose
of this report is to understand how
the manufacturing process takes
place in industry.
8. INTRODUCTION
• IB Group is a growing conglomerate
headquartered at Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh.
Within a relatively short span of 25 years, IB
Group has diversified itself into a well integrated
business unit that produces poultry, dairy, oil,
animal feed and specialized pet food. Evolving is a
key to our philosophy and we plan to further
expand into finance and retail sector. With keen
seen of gratitude for our society, we have
extended into the educational sector through our
CSR initiatives.
9. 1. Introduction Part
1.1 Origin of the report:
• The report is originated to make a study on
the manufacturing procedure and the internal
control system of IB GROUP as a part of the
fulfillment of internship program required for
my 12 class in Oakridge International School.
As the part of my 12 class curriculum this
project is assigned to me by RAMA DEVI
MAM, College Advisor.
10. 1.2 Objective of the report:
The objectives of the report are as follows:-
• To have an idea about the background of IB
GROUP.
• To get an introduction about the
organizational structure & how co-ordination
among different set of activities is made.
• To set a general idea about operating
procedures and functions of manufacturing
Department of IB GROUP.
11. 1.3 Methodology of the report:
• The following methodology was followed
throughout the study. The study is based on both
primary as well as secondary data.
• Data regarding the organization profile collected
in the following ways:
• Primary Source
# Careful observation of various activities of
related section of that particular department.
# Discussions with the officials of Manufacturing
department
• Secondary Source
#Online information.
12. • Data Collection Techniques:
# Some of the primary data were collected by
observing others doing their jobs.
# Much of the primary data were collected by
the informal interviewing of the company
officials.
13. 1.5 Limitations:
• Although I received co-operation from the concerned
officials, they were not always able to give me much time,
as they were busy with their works. Time is an important
issue in Report writing. As I have been given a specific
deadline for submission, observation and learning all the
functions of accounting and budgeting within a month was
really tough. Besides, all the comments made, conclusions
reached and suggestions for possible improvement
provided are purely based on my level of understanding,
knowledge and my way of interpreting a particular
statement. Because of the lack of information, I have to
make some assumptions that may cause few errors or
personal mistakes in the report. In spite of all these
limitations, I have tried to put the best effort as far as was
possible.
14.
15. • 1985-1998
#The IB Group commenced its journey with mere 100
birds in early 1985. Though the start was modest, the
vision of the group was very aggressive.
• 1999-2000
#An acquired knowledge and past experiences of the
early years led to setting up of the first poultry feed
plant in 1999 and there has been no turning back
since then.
16. • 2000-2005
#Coupled with strategic integrations at each
level over the past, this period witnessed the
birth of our hatchery and dairy segment.
• 2006-2008
#This significant period added to the series of
‘new’ beginnings. We started operations of
-First solvent extraction plant in 2006
-Oil Refinery in 2007
-Fish Feed plant subsequently in 2008
17. • 2009-2011
#With consistent technological development and
evolution, they stepped into the Indian pet food
market and launched their specialised high
protein pet food brand named, Drools in 2010.
• 2012-2014
#The year 2013 is the jewel in IB crown and has
been truly significant to them: they partnered
with Aviagen, a brand synonymous with
genetically evolved grandparent and parent stock
birds that led to creation of IB Ross category.
#They also brought home the Asian Livestock
Industry Award.
18.
19. • 2015-2016
#The New Year is full of promises and with
constant evolution on their mind they are
marching ahead steadily on its path. At
present they are awaiting operations of a
1200 TPD feed plant along with the launch of
rice bran and palm oil in our edible oil
category.

23. INTAKE OF SOYABEAN
• Soya bean comes into the plant from various
farmers or mandi of various states. The
storage of soya bean is done in 16,000 tones 4
different cello. Then soya bean goes to prep
section for
cleaning,cracking,dehulling,conditioning,flakin
g, and the formation of cake.
24. PREP SECTION
• In this process following process takes place
for the formation of soya bean cake :-
• Step 1- receiving of soya bean from intake
plant.
• Step 2- cleaning of soya bean is done in the
2nd step in which small pieces of
wood, mud, stone and flakes of soya beans
extracted.
25. • Step 3- Decortications.
• Step 4- 1st separation, in this process all the
small wood and waste product from the soya
bean extracted out.
• Step 5- 2nd separation, in this step mud, stones
and again the extra waste product extracted
out. (in both the steps i.e. step 1 and 2 the
flakes of bean extracted out through blower.)
• Step 6- sifting hull
• Step 7- flaking, in this process the flakes of
soya bean is processed.
26. • Step 8- cooking.
• Step 9- pressing.
• Step 10- formation of cake.
• Step 11- cake breaking.
• Flaking 12- cake of soya bean is sent to solvent
plant through conveyer.
27. Solvent plant process.
• In this process the crude oil and DOC is extracted
from the cake. In the following ways:-
• Step 1- cake comes from the prep section
through conveyer.
• Step 2- crush , In this process the cake is crushed
in very small particles.
• Step 3- extraction , in this process the extraction
of DOC and crude oil in form of missella which is
a mixture of oil and hexane is store in a storage
tank.
28. • Step 4- As hexane is very dangerous gas so it
should me extracted from the crude oil. So in this
process the hexane is separated.(DUE TO THE
PRESENCE OF HEXANE WORKER HAS TO USE
MANY PRECAUTION , THEY CANT EVEN USE
HAMMER INSIDE THE PLANT )
• Step 5- Again the same process is done because
still the hexane remains in the crude oil as it is
not good for health so, it is extracted again.
• Step 6- after the many process 18 % of crude oil
forms from the cake and the DOC is separated
which is used as feed in the IB’S POLTARY for the
chicken.
• Step 7- Then the crude oil goes to refinery for the
refining process.
29. PROCESS OF OIL REFINING
Step 1 -CRUDE OIL COMES FROM SOLVENT
PLANT.
Step 2-DEGUMMING TEMPERATURE IS 65 DEG.
Step 3- NEUTRALISATION 75 DEG. TEMP. OF OIL
Step 4-BLEACHING 120 DEG. TEMP
Step 5-DEODRISATION 250 DEG. TEMP
Step 6-REFINED OIL 30 DEG. TEMPT
STEP 7- THEN THE REFINED OIL GOES TO
PACKING SECTION.
30. NANO NUTRALISATION
• India’s first company having nano
neutralization process.
• MEANING OF NANO NUTRALISATION.
• It is a process where the chemical
consumption to refine the oil becomes low,
and there is no need of washing the oil also.
• Cost of machine is around 75,00,000.
31. PAKING OF ABIS GOLD REFINED OIL
• HERE, THE OIL IS PACKED IN VARIOUS WEIGHT
I.E.
• 15 LTS- STEEL BOX.
10 LTS- PLASTIC BOX.
5LTS – PLASTIC BOX.
1LT – BOTTLE AND PACKET.
0.5LT- BOTTLE AND PACKET.
THE BRAND OF OIL IS ABIS GOLD.
32. Conclusion: what I gained from this
internship
• My internship at IB GROUP was my first real work experience, and it was
like nothing I had ever done before. In those 1 week ,I learned many
essential observing skills, both through observing closely with workers and
by meeting with the managers .I was lucky to be surrounded by very
experienced people at IB GROUP. Added to that was the fact that
manufacturing is a growing business.
• Practically, I can state that I acquired many useful skills which are
necessary in the business managing. It is difficult to skim them, but the
top three things I learned were: structure, interacting with people in
professional settings, and functioning in a team. However, towards the
end of my internship I had gained the confidence and assurance to engage
with important people at a professional level. Finally, I found that I really
experienced first-hand what it is to work in a team.
•
• I was given time to grow and learn at IB GROUP, so that at the end of my
internship I was ready to prove myself. It was a job well done. I am very
glad to be given this opportunity, and it was truly a great way to end my
internship.
