“The Biggest Nation”
• China is the 2nd largest country in the world in terms of population. The 3rd
largest in respect of total land area. China has a land border of about
22,117 km. (13,743)- the largest in the world
“Craddle of the World”
• This is synonymous with the phrase “Cradle of the Worlds oldest existing
civilization”. This is attritube to the Yellow or Huang Ho River As its basin
provided by birth place of the northern Chinese civilization and the most
prosperous in the Chinese history
“Oldest Civilization”
• Is the common name attribute to china with nearly 4,000 years of
continous history. Before the beginning of 19th centur, the country
possessed one of the most advanced society and economic in the world
“the sleeping dragon”
• Within the last 20 years the world has witnessed the re-awakening of
china. In 1978 the country institute reform and opened its economy

Nippon And Nihon
• These two names for japan are of deffierent uses
depending upon the circumstances. The name Nippon is
used for the most official purpose including Japanese
money, postage stamps and many international event on
the other hand nihon is a more casual term and most
commonly used in contemporary speech.
“Land Of the Rising Sun”
• Both Nippon and nhon literally mean “the sun’s origin” and
are often translated as “land of the rising sun “ This
nomentclature comes from the imperial correspondence
with the Chinese Sui Dynastyand refers to Japan’s
eastward position relative to that of China.
TAIWAN
ILHA FORMOSA”
• Coined by the Portuguese Ilha Formosa means “beautiful island”
located of the southern costof mainland china (PROC), Taiwan is an
island nation of scenic beauty,

• Former Prisedent Chen Shui Baian proposed on developing Taiwan
into a “green silicon island to maintain the country’s economic
competitiveness and sustainable development. Thereby ensuring a
blanace natural conservation and economic development.
“Terraced Bay “
• The name Taiwan came from the two Chinese characters meaning
“terraced “ and “ bay. This would seem be the most evocative of all
of the fondly names for it emphasize the natural beauty of the
island and the significance of the seas to its people.
MONGOLIA
“Land Where There are More Horses Than Man
• Mongolians called their country “land where are
more horses than men” because out in the
country side the best transportation is the horse.
“Dead Heart of Asia”
• The Mongolian plateau is situated between the
Khingan and Yablonoi mountains and majority of
the country is compose of the transportation is
the horse
MACAU
• Spring-Macau's spring is from March to April when the southeast
winds bring warmth and humidity
• Summer-Beginning in May, summer season here usually lasts till
the end of September.
• Autumn
After the hard summer, the intense southwest winds disappear
and the winds from the northern continent bring this region a
mild autumn with cool days from October to December
• Winter-Starting from mid to late December, January to February is
the coldest period when the cold air from Siberia arrives at the
peninsular.
NORTH KOREA
“land of kim’s”
• The government of North Korea follows the Juche ideology
which was developed by the country’s former President Kim
II-sung. He and his successors are considered to be the
country eternal president. Therefor North Korea is called “the
land of Kim’s”.
SOUTH KOREA
• “Land of the Morning Clam”
• An emperor of China during the Ming Dynasty gave Korea the title “Chaoshsien” meaning
morning freshness. The title is most suiting to South Korea because of its spellbinding beauty
of picturesque high mountains and clear waters and its splendid tranquility particularly in the
morning which further comfirmed the nomenclature on South Korea as the “land of morning
clam:.
• “Hermit Kingdom”
• Hermit kingdom is pejorative term applied to any country or society which willful walls itself
off (metaphoric or physically) from the rest of the word Joseon Dynasty of Korea was
frequently describe as Hermit Kingdom during the latter part of the dynasty. The term is still
commonplace throughout Korea and is often used by Korea’s themselves to describe pre-
modern Korea.
• “Land of Sparkling Streams and High Mountains”
• The names Korea derived from that of a dynasty, the Koryo maybe translated as “Land Of
Sparkling streams and high Mountains”. This is an apt characterization of the rugged
mountains land which has but limited areas of plains. Hills and mountains dominate the
landscape on both side of the truce line that divides Korea. Only 1/5 of the land is cultivated,
and the rest is covered with forest, much of it cutover and of tittle commercial value.
HONG KONG
“Fragrant Harbour”
• The name Hong Kong is an approximate
phonetic rendering of the pronunciation of
the Cantonese name “Hakka” meaning “frant
harbor”
