Film Unfinished Film Analysis
The truth if the film was that the Jewish people had nothing. The SS and the filmmakers
embarrassed the Jews by disrespecting their religion: making men and women wash their sins in a
holy bath, and giving little portions of food so they would starve. The ghetto was a temporary place
for most Jews, but was the extermination of some. But the journey for the Jewish people in the
ghetto had just began. A Film Unfinished showed what the ghetto was like before the Jewish people
who lived took their next stop in their journey. The Jewish people who didn't die in the ghetto was
sent to concentration camps in other parts of Poland. The Concentration camps and the ghetto itself
was established by the SS.
The SS was in charge of what happened in Germany, Hitler no longer took actions. The SS didn't
inaugurate the ghetto over the course of a night. It took a lot of planning to build places such as the
ghetto and the concentration camps. The man who started all the actions of the crimes against
humanity towards the Jewish population in Germany was the leader of the SS, Heinrich Himmler. ...

Himmler believed "the world was overrun by subhuman races, and the superior race (Aryan) should
return back to power" (Heinrich Himmler Ppt 2). Himmler was mentally unstable. He truly thought
"he was the reincarnation of king Heinrich I who was a 10th century saxon king" (Heinrich
Himmler Ppt 5). As leader of the SS, Himmler sent his soldiers to do tremendous things such as:
kidnapped children with Aryan characteristics from their parents, kidnapped Poland; Russian; and
ukrainian children, eliminated those of inferior racial backgrounds, and created false racial science
to justify their racism (Heinrich Himmler Ppt 4–5). But Himmler didn't take actions and control the

Were Ghettos
Very few, if any, don't recall the events of the tragic killing of millions of Jews. The story and
historically event we call the Holocaust. What was it like in the places the resided and what were
their conditions? Were ghettos anything like how the are today?
Contrary to popular belief and question, ghettos belong to neither African Americans, nor were they
created by the Nazis. They were actually used to describe European areas where Jews were
prohibited. These areas were actually quite common within the nation and are only "slang" in
today's usage to describe undesirable areas. These restrictions occurred mostly in cities, but
occasionally meant an entire country had restrictions on their ranges.
Religion was a strongpoint for their

Is Learning About The Second World War Important?
Is learning about The Second World War important?
The Second World War began in 1940, and ended in 1945. The main reason why the war started was
that a man called Adolf Hitler were against all the Jews. He meant that the Jews had good
educations, and got all the important and big jobs in the society. It is important that we learn about
this happening, in that way we can try to not make it happened again. In this essay, I am going to
write more about why we should learn about the Second World War, what the final solution did to
the Jews and why we should try to not make it happened again and I'm going to tell about how we
can use Anne Frank's diary to get a view in to the war.

When we learn about the Second World War, we learn about all the consequences the war gave us.
In that way, I hope we have a reason to not make any World War 3. That one man could have so
much hate to a kind of people is not okay. If someone thought like this today, I think that we will
have enough laws and police to stop them/him, her.
"Who says I am not under the special protection of God?" –Adolf Hitler. (Goodreads) this s a quote
Hitler said. If you read it and think, what it could mean. I would probably think that he taught
himself that he was sent from God to help the society, and that God always should him. However,
all he actually did was destroying the society. But The Second World War did also help us to
develop medicines.
The final solution was a solution directed to the Jews under the Second World War. SS–general
Reinhard Heydrich got an order from Hitler in the ending of 1941 to make the solution. January 20.
1920, he had a plan for the final solution, he had worked together with Adolf Eicmann. They shared
their example of the final solution at a conference in Berlin called Wannsee–conference, after 1 hour
and 20 minutes, they got a plan for the final solution, or "die endløsung" in German. The final
solution said that all the Jews should be exterminated. With this solution they decides that they
should start the worlds biggest genocide. As a follower from this solution they

Heinrich Himmler Was The Reich Leader
Heinrich Himmler was the Reich Leader (Reichsführer) of the SS of the Nazi party from 1929 until
1945" ("Himmler"). Himmler was appointed the task of carrying out the Final Solution created by
Hitler, which was then delegated to even more people. Himmler "led the SS into a large paramilitary
organization that was prominent in Nazi Germany," ("Himmler"). Himmler had so much power that
he controlled all of the police units in Nazi Germany, which made him the second most powerful
person in Nazi Germany ("Himmler"). Himmler oversaw all the operations of the Nazi state, by
bringing up the SS into a prominent position therefore making him a key figure in the atrocities
committed by the Nazi Party using the SS and its agencies.
Reinhard Heydrich was the leader of the SD and the Gestapo. He was very dedicated to the Nazi
cause and fit the physical standards of an Aryan through making him a true Nazi soldier
("Heydrich"). He created the SD Intelligence agency for Heinrich Himmler since there was no
intelligence agency ("Heydrich"). Created secret agency called RSHA which combined many
agencies such as the Gestapo, and KRIPO, Kriminalpolizei ("Heydrich"). Heydrich implemented the
Final Solution under his rule where, "14,000 German and Austrian Jews and more than 20,000
Czech Jews were deported from Theresienstadt to the Lodz ghetto, to the Government General, and
to the Reich Commissariat Ostland." He was another main figure during the Holocaust and the Final

The Horrors of the Holocaust Essay
The Horrors of the Holocaust Eighteen million Europeans went through the Nazi concentration
camps. Eleven million of them died, almost half of them at Auschwitz alone.1 Concentration camps
are a revolting and embarrassing part of the world's history. There is no doubt that concentration
camps are a dark and depressing topic. Despite this, it is a subject that needs to be brought out into
the open. The world needs to be educated on the tragedies of the concentration camps to prevent the
reoccurrence of the Holocaust. Hitler's camps imprisoned, tortured, and killed millions of Jews for
over five years. Life in the Nazi concentration camps was full of terror and death for its individual
prisoners as well as the entire Jewish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though these two camps had the facilities of the killing centers, execution was not their only
purpose. These centers also used the Jews for labor exploitation.6 The eleven concentration camps
were created "to house large numbers of people in a limited, structured, and defined area . . . until
they died or were killed."7 Although thousands of camps existed, these were the Big Nineteen. The
smaller camps "were attached to, allied with, or under the supervision of the Big Nineteen."8
The basic purpose of the camps was to use the Jews for labor and then kill them. There was more to
it than that, however. Konnilyn G. Feig describes the purpose of the camps as follows:
The system strove to develop from a primitive incarceration project to a vast unprecedented network
for the suppression, containment, exploitation, and extermination of millions of people of various
nationalities who were designated as enemies of the state or as members of a nonhuman or inferior
population.9
Hitler thought of the Jewish population as a worthless society and treated the individuals as
worthless creatures. When Hitler came to power, he established the camps "for the purpose of
isolation, punishing, torturing, and killing Germans suspected of opposition to his regime."10 The
Germans wanted to guarantee the death of as many Jews as possible "while extracting some useful
labor from the doomed."11 The camps were set up technically and psychologically to

Reinhard Heydrich Research Paper
Reinhard Heydrich known as"The Blond Beast" or "Hangman Heydrich" was born in the German
city of Halle, near Leipzig on March 7,1904 he was the second of three children .When Heydrich
was six months old he suffered an inflammation of the brain that could've killed him, as well as a
few other illnesses that were life threatening. In order to overcome this, his father motivated him to
take up as many sports as possible such as running, horse–riding, football, swimming, and fencing.
Heydrich was raised in a musical background. He had a strong love for the violin. So Heydrich did
what any enthusiast would do, he trained seriously and eventually developed an expert skill for it, as
well as a life–long passion for the violin. His parents were music Aficionados and because of their
love for music, Heydrich's father, Bruno Richard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

came across an entry in the 1916 version of Riemann's Musical Encyclopedia which read 'Heydrich,
Bruno, real name as Süss' "(Simkin). Eventually it was found out that Reinhard's father's real last
name was Süss and even though Heydrich was not Jewish, Süss was a common German–Jewish last
name at the time. It was then implied that Heydrich's father was Jewish. He was targeted for school
bullying due to his high–pitched voice, his devotion to Catholicism, and the suspicion that he was of
Jewish ancestry. He was usually pummeled by the larger boys but the main idea that got to him was
the fact that he was made fun of because they thought he was Jewish. Heydrich was plagued with
racial anti–semitic slurs because of the rumors of jewish ancestry in his family. Even though his
father denied being Jewish, Heydrich wondered if his father was of Jewish ancestry and because of
this he became confused and

The Is Not The Right Word Essay
How many people will I kill in my lifetime? I am not some deranged serial killer with deadly
intentions, but I am a person that is aware that my actions could have ramifications that I cannot
possibly fathom. Perhaps "kill" is not the right word. How many deaths will I be responsible for by
the time I leave this earth? Much better. As Susan Griffin asserts in "Our Secret", the lives of
everyone on this planet are much more intertwined that most like to believe. As are the lives of
those who have come before, and those that will come after. This is what she refers to as us being
part of a "larger matrix". There is a particular scene in a favorite movie of mine, Good Will Hunting,
which I think perfectly sums up this idea. "Why shouldn 't I work for the N.S.A.? That 's a tough
one, but I 'll take a shot. Say I 'm working at N.S.A. Somebody puts a code on my desk, something
nobody else can break. Maybe I take a shot at it and maybe I break it. And I 'm real happy with
myself, 'cause I did my job well. But maybe that code was the location of some rebel army in North
Africa or the Middle East. Once they have that location, they bomb the village where the rebels
were hiding and fifteen hundred people I never met, never had no problem with, get killed" I
understand that this is just a scene from a movie, but I think that the premise stands. We all make
thousands of decisions in a day, millions in a lifetime. Some major, some minor. Who is to say that
one of those countless

Wannsee Conference Research Paper
The only record that is found of the Wannsee Conference is the 16th copy of the notes taken and
distributed to all of the members of the conference. It is found in March of 1947. The notes
articulate a plan of genocide over all of Europe. The Wannsee Conference's function and
significance are still slightly unclear, but we do know many things about it. We know the setting,
attendees, what they are planning and how they will foresee that plan.
The conference is held on January 20, 1942 by Reinhard Heydrich. Reichsmarschall Hermann
Göring had charged him with arranging all practical matters concerning the implementation of the
Final Solution of the Jewish question. It takes place in a large house in the suburb of Wannsee in
Berlin, Germany. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sterilization was also discussed at the beginning of the conference, but Heydrich states that death is
the best form of sterilization. "Europe would be combed of Jews from east to west," Heydrich
stated. At the time of the conference, most attendees already know that the mass murder of Jews is
taking place. Some of the men are even responsible for mass killings of Jews. They talk about how
mass killings are not good for the soldiers, not good for their morale. Death by carbon dioxide gas is
implemented to the killings of thousands of Jews even before it was discussed in the Wannsee
Conference; plans for gas chambers and concentration camps are already created. 60,000 Jews
would be killed every day in concentration

The Wannsee Conference
On July 31, 1941, Hermann Goring sent orders to Reinhard Heydrich to prepare a plan in regards to
the remaining Jews in territories under German control (Goda 216). Following orders from his
superior, Heydrich hosted a meeting known as the Wannsee Conference. The Wannsee Conference
took place on January 20, 1942 in Wannsee, Berlin (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum).
The Wannsee Conference had initially been scheduled to take place on December 9, 1941. However,
due to the crisis when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, The United States of
America declared war on Japan, a country that was Germany's ally. Honoring a treaty with Japan,
the Germans declared war on The United States of America on December 11, 1941 (Goda 216). ...

Heydrich and attendees of the Wannsee Conference used the Nuremberg laws to come to a
conclusion on who should be considered a Jew. By the end of the Wannsee Conference, it was
decided that Mischlings of the first degree would be treated as Jews (Jewish Virtual Libary). First
degree meaning persons with two Jewish grandparents. According to Jewish Virtual Library, this
would not be valid if person are married to a non–Jew and had children by that marriage. This
would also not be valid if they had been granted written exemption by the highest offices of the
Party and State. Person who obtained written exemption would be sterilized and considered
German. It was also decided that Mischlings of the second degree, meaning persons with one Jewish
grandparent, would be treated as Germans (Jewish Virtual Libary). This would not apply if persons
were married to Jews or Mischlings of the first degree. This would not apply if person's appearance,
political record and behavior were similar to a Jew. When it came to mixed marriages, the Heydrich
and attendees of the Wannsee Conference decided that if a mixed marriage had produced children
who were being raised as Germans, the Jewish parent would not be killed. However, if the children

Germany's Anti-Sematic Policy Case Study
1. Examine how Germany's anti–sematic policies evolved during 1933 and 1945, what facilitated
the changes and above all, why it was allowed to happen? The Holocaust was a horrific tragedy that
killed nearly 6 million Jewish civilians. It took place for a number of the reasons. Germany had
proven to be an anti–Semitic country for centuries and Jews were used as scapegoats for German
problems. Centuries of Nazi persecution cause the Holocaust particularly in 1933–1939 as well as
Adolf Hitler and his racist opinions which influenced the German people. The Holocaust was an
opportunity for Germany to 'cleanse' itself of Jews. With Hitler being extremely Anti–Semitic and a

There was little access to weapons and absolutely no chance of moving freely and a majority of the
population were uninterested in resisting the Nazi's as they no longer believed in hope. Despite the
odds many Jews practiced some resistance either cultural, spiritual, armed or active. Resistance
activities were very secretive and held in underground organizations, they included literary
evenings, Jewish artists, concerts, directors, poets, and secret libraries. The Jews struggled to keep
hope and attempted to keep themselves normal and not show their emotion to the Nazi's. They
helped others by organizing religious worships, by fasting on religious holidays despite them being
starving. The Jewish resistance remained non–violent until 1943 when armed and active resistance
began. Armed active resistance in the ghettos were more violent and open. The resistances were
very organized and often spontaneous. Jewish youth were deeply involved in planning hiding and
escapes where they learned that they could escape the ghettos by running into forests. The Jews tried
to smuggle arms into the ghetto to train fighters and start a plan of a battle alert if there was surprise
attack by the Germans. The Jewish people were scared and hopeless and some did not want to fight
back the Nazi's, they kept their heads down and voices low so that they could go under the radar and
stay alive for as long as possible. There were also individuals called Partisans (a strong supporter of
a cause) that risked their lives in trying to help and organize secret resistance to Nazi control. They
attacked German railroads, bridges and military camps. They also tried to assassinate Nazi
collaborators. There were a few German's who allowed Jewish resistance and some helped to save
the Jewish people, three examples of these people are Oskar Schindler, Raoul Wallenberg and

Einsatzgruppen's Role In Ww2
Events 1940 –1945
Event 1: Einsatzgruppen Initially conceived in 1938, the Einsatzgruppen participated in the
relatively cordial annexation of Austria and certain regions of Czechoslovakia to the Third Reich
("The Einsatzgruppen" par. 3). In consonance with Merriman and Winter, units were comprised of
the Sonderkommandos, that administered in the Soviet Union near the theater of operations, or the
more conspicuous Einsatzkommandos, which operated inside the battlefield. Formulated as
motorized mobile units, they would be transmuted into officers of the Gestapo or the
Sicherheitsdienst after several weeks of service. However, methods of recruitment were altered as
the Einsatzgruppen matured. Subsequent the invasion of Poland, units were equipped with heavier
artillery; this marked the deviation from security to genocidal action (par. 5). The article
"Einsatzgruppen (Mobile Killing Units)", in June 1941, the Einsatzgruppen followed the German
army as they ventured deep into Soviet territory. Given objectives to persecute and murder those
perceived to be racial and political opponents to the regime, they went directly to the homes of
Jewish residence and massacred them (par. 3). These units motivated and provoked the beginning of
the Holocaust. The anonymous writer of "The Einsatzgruppen" illustrates how the regime disposed
of their adversaries:

Compare And Contrast Heydrich And Ernest Shackleton
(STATE THESIS) When it comes to the leading their respective teams, Ernest Shackleton and
Reinhard Heydrich's approaches to leadership could not be more contradictory. This is not to say
that their differences make either of them a good or misleader. Each individual demonstrated
qualities that would classify him in either category. However, it is ultimately the intentions of the
leader and the presence of or complete disregard for humanity that categorizes each man where he
falls.
Holistically, in order to determine what makes an individual an effective leader or a misleader, one
must first understand the aspects of leadership. While it is impossible to condense what makes a
leader into a short list of qualities and ideas, for the intent of this paper, the comparative aspects of
leadership will be limited to: character, skills/talent, and results.
To begin, character can be understood as the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual.
Warren Buffet was quoted saying, "there are three main qualities involved in leadership: integrity,
intelligence, and energy; without the first, the other two will kill you," (Warren Buffet). In reference
to Ernest Shackleton, the mariner was known by his crew to be optimistic, generous, and fair. At the
beginning of their expedition, however, these qualities were subdued by Shackleton's hubris. It
should be noted that, "no mariner distinguished themselves on a smooth sea," (The Endurance
Movie). With that in mind, it was not

Our Secret by Susan Griffin Essay
Susan Griffin's "Our Secret" is a study in psychology. It is a look into the human mind to see what
makes people do the things they do and in particular what makes people commit acts of violence.
She isolates the first half of the twentieth century and in particular the era of the Second World War
as a basis for her study. The essay discusses a number of people but they all tie in to Heinrich
Himmler. He is the extreme case, he who can be linked directly to every single death in the
concentration camps. Griffin seeks to examine Himmler because if she can discern a monster like
Himmler than everyone else simply falls into place. The essay also tries to deduce why something

"The earliest entries in this diary betray so little. Like the words of a schoolboy commanded to write
what the teacher requires of him, they are wooden and stiff. The stamp of his father's character is so
heavy on this language that I catch not even a breath of a self here." (Griffin 407–408)
He became a man who thought not for himself but preferred to have others give him commands.
That is why he rose to power in the Nazi party, he did not question orders but rather thrived on
them. "Following Hitler with unwavering loyalty, he is known as der treur Heinrich, true Heinrich.
He describes himself as an instrument of the Fuhrer's will" (Griffin 421). Did the violence in
Himmler stem from his adoration of his brother, the perfect physical specimen. Heinrich tried his
whole life to be like his older brother, strong and masculine. So much so that while serving as
Reichsfuhrer he devised a set of standards for the "Aryan Race" to live up to. One could argue that
these standards were modeled after his brother. Himmler's belief in physical superiority led to the
suppression and deaths of many who did not measure up which is ironic because Himmler himself
was frail and did not meet any of his own standards. Influenza struck Himmler as a child which
prevented him from becoming strong as an adult. Compared with his brother he is weak. He sees his
brother and how popular he is. This led Himmler to associate the two

Extermination camps are where people were mass killed. There were six of these extermination
camps. These extermination camps were all located throughout German occupied Europe. The

The Holocaust : The Most Hateful Causes Of The Holocaust
Holocaust is from the greek words "holos" which means whole and "kaustos" which means burned.
The holocaust was historically used to describe and sacrificial offering by being burned by an altar.
The holocaust was a devastating event in history, since 1945 the word holocaust has taken on a
horrible meaning such as the extensive murder of some 6 millions jews in Europe. Part of Hitler's
"final solution" include extermination camps that engrossed most of Poland. Nazis pushed killing
children in view of being unwanted or dangerous. The Germans and their associates killed as many
as 1.5 million innocent children. However some children were saved but put to work as laborers.
Being on of the most powerful and persuading speaker Adolf Hitler was one of the most dominate
and hateful dictators of the 20th century. With no doubt the Holocaust was a destructive event in
history. In January 1933, 522,000 Jews by religious definition lived in Germany. Over half
approximately 304,000 Jews emigrated within the first six years of the Nzai rule, leaving almost
214,00 Jews in Germany on the eve of World War II. By 1939 only around 16 percent of Jews had a
substantial job of any sort. Thousands of Jews were interned in concentration camps in November
1938. Almost a year later following the start of the war on September 1, 1939 the government set
new rules and restrictions on Jews that remained in Germany. One of the new rules was that Jews

Adolf Hitler Individuals At Fault For The Holocaust
Adolf Hitler is not individually at fault for the Holocaust, as his followers and advisors can also be
put to blame for the terror that occurred within and around Germany. Leaders such as Reinhard
Heydrich and Rudolf Hess played a key role in the success of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. Also, Hitler
would have gotten nowhere without the support of millions in Germany. Although Hitler was most
definitely at fault personally, he also gained support as Germans chose to join him, while advisors
helped him throughout the time of the holocaust and World War 2, proving that he would have not
been successful individually.
Hitler's rise to power began after a complete and destructive collapse of the German economy, after
the horror of the first world war. According to schoolshistory.org.uk, 1.7 million young German men
were killed in the first world war, and another 4.3 million Germans were injured in the war. The
Germans were desperate for someone or something that could recover them from economic failure.
"He became convinced that his life's mission was to "save Germany," as he later put it"
(http://www.history.com/topics/beer–hall–putsch). Hitler began as a soldier, somebody that would
have never gained power without the support of thousands. The german society itself lead to the
growth and ultimate terror that occurred during the holocaust. They turned to someone with an ego,
and ultimately a hidden drive to kill. The total casualty amounted to 7 million germans as prisoners

Victor Frankenstein Character Analysis
Taking the lives of innocent people is a cruel act usually associated with hate and revenge. It is also
loathed by society. However, in Mary Shelley's novel, Frankenstein, she gets readers to sympathize
with crimeful characters. In this case, specifically, the creature and his irresponsible creator, Victor
Frankenstein. Shelley uses convincing words to portray the message that the creature is guiltless.
Even as the creature slaughters Victor's family members readers continues to show compassion
towards him. Many questions arise when considering Victor Frankenstein and the creature's
behavior. Why is it that even a murderer can be seen as innocent ? How does that person's
environment affect their actions and decisions? Also, how much responsibility does a creator have
for what he creates? Although, the creature is referred to as a "beast". It can be easily proved that the
creator of the creature , Victor Frankenstein, is the true cause of the creatures moral corruptness and
raged actions. Victor's actions and decisions introduce the thematic topic "responsibility", leading to
the purpose of the novel.
Shelley gets readers to sympathize with the characters by using a helpless and extremely persuasive
tone. For example, "You are in the wrong, replied the fiend, and instead of threatening I am consent
to reason with you" (Ch.17). This quote, stated by the creature, has a strong effect on readers
because Shelley uses an influential tone. Although, seen as a monster, Mary

Is the definition of "Exterminate." A harsh, fierce word that strikes fear into an opponent's heart. The
holocaust was a German regime to rid all Jews in Europe; they were believed to be an inferior race
to the superior "German race." The Germans thought they were "racially superior," group. The word
"Holocaust" was originated as a Greek word that means, "Sacrifice by fire." The first signs of the
word Holocaust used was back in 1942 when the London News Chronicle spoke of this as "A
holocaust" And Whilst the extermination of Jewish peoples other groups Nazi's deemed inferior

Death and Humanity in the Holocaust
Within the twentieth century, what event stands out to you as the most inhumane treatment of fellow
humans. Without a doubt, most would agree that the Holocaust completely matches this sad frame
of reference. The Holocaust in Germany was an unspeakable event in human history. In this terrible
act, at its worst in Poland, was the direct cause of the deaths of 62.7% of the Jewish population in
Europe (History 1). It is obvious that two themes stand out during this time period death and
humanity, or inhumanity for that matter.
The Holocaust was a blemish, not only on the 20th century, but in the entire history of humanity.

There was little, if any economic gain; in fact, one would think that the Holocaust brought economic
loss to Germany because Jews owned a greater majority of the shops at the time. The Jews
represented absolutely no threat to the German nation, nor to the Nazi party as a whole (Judy 1).
The rational nature of its execution, its efficiency, calculability, predictability and control are even
more inhumane in that every extermination system was planned to kill as many Jews as possible, as
fast as possible. This methodical slaughter of 11 to 12 million human beings began in late 1938 and
ended in 1945. Of the approximately 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, more than half were
systematically exterminated in the inhumane death traps, such as furnaces and gas chambers, of the
Nazi Death Camps between 1942 and 1945 (History 1).
The names Treblinka, Auschwitz–Birkenau, Dachau, Chelmno, Sobibor, Belzek and Majdanek are

The Trains Of Treblinka Which Carried The Prized...
The holocaust can be regarded as one of the most awful events in history and the swastika continues
to be a constant reminder of the horrendous acts of hate that were bestowed onto human lives. More
than 1 million people were brutally murdered at the hands of an evil dictator named Adolf Hitler.
Some of the vivid events and actions that took place during this time have been highlighted in the
poem "The Trains" written by William Heyen. Heyen discusses the trains of Treblinka which carried
the prized possessions of the many people who had been dropped off to death and/or concentration
camps. In the poem, the author attempts to appeal to audiences of the 21st century around the world
who do not fully understand the horrific incidents that occurred during the holocaust and the tragedy
inflicted on its victims. Throughout the years curiosity regarding the holocaust has become more
evident in the 21st century as people across the globe anxiously learn about the events that took
place in Germany during World War II. The importance of this event is not only being taught to
Americans and people of the Jewish religion, but it is also being taught in other parts of the world.
The popularity of knowledge being obtained regarding the holocaust grows: books, documentaries,
and poems. Poems, like that of William Heyen's "The Trains", are being introduced to the
generations in the 21st century. Heyen pinpoints the curiosity of his audience to make them want to

After the attack of the jews, 25, 000 Jewish men were ordered by Heydrich to be sent to

In 1941, Reinhard Heydrich had made the calls that killed a massive number of people. The half a
million jews who died from starvation and murder in Ghettos such as Warsaw and Krakow were
ordered by Heydrich to be sent there.
By 1939, he was given complete control over the Reich Main Security Office (RSHA). This final
group he 'd gained power over, involving the SD, Criminal Police and Gestapo was the group
responsible for the unthinkable amount of deaths in Europe. While leader of this organization, he 'd
now been attending important Nazi conferences. While at a conference on January, 20, 1942,
Reinhard Heydrich declared the final solution to the Jewish question The usage of Zyklon–B had
then been decided for the extermination of Jews at death camps after being deported to the east. The
first camp that this methode began at was Auschwitz, where three million had been killed, most
from gas chambers.
That was Reinhard Heydrich 's rise to power, his role and impact on the developement on the

Holocaust Essay : The Holocaust And Unfairness
The Holocaust and Unfairness
We've all heard the saying, everything is fair in "love and war". But do the outcomes of all war, have
a fair ending. The way innocent people were treated, who had no partake whatsoever, were dragged
into this mess. Hitler treated the Jews like they were some sort of animal and not human beings.
Who gave Hitler the right to determine which religion is the greater, and what difference do the
Jews have, they're also humans like us. War is not fair because it changes and impact a lot of things,
it harms/kills innocent people, endangers our environment, and war is immoral. Why were the
people who had nothing against religion, society, or even Hitler at one point, had to face injustice?
The poor and naïve children, some who were just born, had no sense of anything had to face such
torture. Many lives were damaged, families were torn apart, just because of one person hating
another religion. According to Hitler, since the person was born that way, they have no say
whatsoever and he assumes for them and punishes them. People should have questioned him on who
gave him the right. Because people's fear, they allowed the TYRANNY of him progress and the
problems started to escalate. Just because him and many others thought that, Germans were the most
superior people and no other religion or belief is greater, he took racism and hatred to the next level,

Hitler 's And The Nazi Party
Hitler 's henchmen were those inside the Richstag and other important segments of the German
government. These include Joseph Goebbels, Hermann Goering, Rudolf Hess, Heinrich Himmler,
Ernst Rohm, Reinhard Heydrich. It is debated if they escaped justice or not.
Joseph Goebbels was born in 1897 and became a doctor in philosophy in 1920. Due to his hatred of
the terms of the Treaty of Versailles, he joined the Nazi party near the end of 1924 to help build
support for the party in Berlin. In 1923 he was given full control of the Nazi 's propaganda machine.
Goebbels was elected into the Reichstag in 1928 and, at 1933, was given the role as the 'Minister of
Enlightenment and Propaganda ', which he worked as until 1945. His skill at the role gave him the
nickname as the 'Poison Dwarf '. At the near–end of the Second World War when Berlin was
besieged by the Russians during April to May 1945, Joseph stayed with Hitler in his ' bunker. Which
he was given Hitler 's watch as a token of appreciation for being with him to the very end. On May
1st, Goebbels poisoned his six children then shot his wife and then himself.
Hermann Goering was born in 1893 and found popularity in World War One as a fighter ace.
Winning many awards for bravery and was the last commander of the infamous Richthofen Fighter

of Operation Reinhard, which also included unknown numbers of Poles, Roma, and Soviet prisoners

were gas chambers they were designed as "low, long, and broad buildings that were built of grey
concrete and had a flat roof made of roofing felt, with a net over it covered with branches. The steps
led into a dark, empty corridor which was very long, but only 1.5 m. wide. On both sides of it were
the doors to the gas chambers, they were wooden doors that were 1 m. wide. The chambers were 1.5
m. above the ground and were lower than normal rooms, no higher than 2 m. Outside the building
was a 2 by 2 m. shed which housed the gas machine." (Operation Reinhard – The Camps of Belzec,

by shooting, carbon monoxide, and gas vans on top of many different killing styles. "In all three

How Did Ww2 Affect The Holocaust
Over 11 million men, women and their children were killed during the Holocaust, but, more than
half of them were Jewish. Innocent human beings were abducted and put into concentration camps
from 1933 to 1945, where they were tortured and forced to work long hours, each day, without food
or water. Eventually, more than half of the Jews were killed and only a small amount of them
survived. The Holocaust happened because of one man's plan to rid the world of all Jews. He was
determined to succeed. Adolf Hitler began a movement that resulted in the execution of six million
Jews. With an outspoken anti–Jewish mayor, Karl Lueger, and many anti–Jewish newspapers and
magazines there was no restriction on antisemitism, and Hitler was strongly influenced by this
("Why Adolf Hitler Hated Jews"). The First World War affected Hitler's point of view on the world

Rienhard Heydrich's Death During The Holocaust
The Holocaust was a dark time in humanity's history; a time that should be looked back on in
shame. People lost their compassion and empathy towards one another. These emotions are essential
in keeping peace and harmony throughout the world, and give mankind a natural kindheartedness
towards one another. Having the innate sense to feel for one another and understand the trials and
tribulations others go through is what truly makes us human. This is what was lost during the
Holocaust. The inherent good that humans are born with, was taken away by Adolf Hitler and his

According to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Heydrich "died in June 1942 from
injuries sustained during an assassination attempt by Czech partisans" (United States Holocaust

Heydrich was "one of the best National Socialists, one of the staunchest defenders of the concept of
the German Reich and one of the greatest opponents of all enemies of this Reich" (United States
Holocaust Memorial Museum). Before his death, he was tasked with helping structure the Final
Solution. Himmler and Hitler sent him to represent them in the Wannsee Conference in January 20,
1942, to discuss to the German offices the solution to the Jewish question (United States Holocaust
Memorial Museum). Judging by Hitler's words and Heydrich's high ranking in the Nazi government,
Heydrich was very well respected by Himmler and was his right–hand man. And when Heydrich
died in 1942 Himmler was very hurt by it and wanted to carry on his legacy. This is what triggered
Himmler to start the Final Solution. So he commenced Operation Rienhard, which was named in
honor of Heydrich. Operation Rienhard was started in the autumn of 1941 (but later renamed in
honor of Heydrich) and marked the start of the Final Solution as history knows it today (United
States Holocaust Memorial Museum). Its goal was "to "resettle" (i.e., to kill) the Polish Jews, (2) to
exploit the skilled or manual labor of some Polish Jews before killing them, (3) to secure the
personal property of the Jews (clothing, currency, jewelry, and other possessions), and (4) to identify

"Who are all those people? And what are they all doing there?" (4.190), Bruno asks. This is what the
book, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, is based on. It informs the reader that the holocaust occurred.
Who were these people, and what were they doing there? There are many examples on why it was a
bad thing that Bruno was oblivious about the Holocaust. The holocaust was a gruesome time where
Jews were killed for their beliefs. The leader of the Nazi party was Hitler. He believed that Jews
were bad people and they should be punished for their crimes. This started a period of time where
Jews were rounded up and put into concentration camps to later be killed or put to do the hard work

Bruno went exploring he followed the fence and saw a dot that became a speck, that became a blob,
that became a figure, that became a boy. That was the first time that he saw Shmuel. Bruno started
to visit him every day, and he kept on asking if they could play every time(Boyne 104). If Bruno
knew what was happening to Shmuel on the other side of the fence, he might have done to help him

Although, there are many reasons to why this was bad, it could be argued both ways. Bruno being

naive he was able to make a best friend, and be a normal kid. However, they are wrong to believe
this because Bruno would have never died if he hadn't met Shmuel. This is another reason why it
was a bad thing that Bruno was naive. Overall Bruno being naive was a bad thing because nothing

The Extermination Camp At Chelmno Concentration Camp
During the Nazi Holocaust, multiple working and death camps were created to hold the captured
Jews. While the Jews lived in this camp, they were tortured, mistreated, worked to death and
eventually were put to death by either execution by firearm or were put into a death camp which
exterminated the Jews using poison gas. The Nazi Party had developed many death camps in the
central european area including the 6 death camps of Poland; Auschwitz, Treblinka, Belzec,
Chelmno, Sobibor, and Majdanek.
Little has been published on Chelmno due to its significance as the first extermination camp to
become operational death camp. Chelmno concentration camp was established in November 1941
and was exclusively used for the executions of Soviet prisoners and Jews, most of whom were
Polish. The extermination camp at Chelmno demands special attention, because during the German
occupation only a very few people in Poland ever knew of its existence and the hundreds of
thousands of its victims. Chelmno introduced the most deadly phase of the Holocaust. Its victims
were from 36 communities in western Poland, along with 88 children from Czech town whose
population was decimated as a collective reprisal for the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in May
of 1942. The facilities at Chelmno included three gas vans and two crematoria. Gassing at Chelmno
began on December 8, 1941 just hours before Pearl Harbor was struck by Japanese planes. By June
of 1942, Chelmno has produced 20 gas chambers from

I think Anne Frank is a good help to realize the personal experience of sombody going through that.

Reinhard Heydrich And The Assassination Of The Holocaust
During the Holocaust, many innocent people were killed at the hands of the German Nazi Party,
otherwise known as the Third Reich. Some of the worst war crimes in history were committed
during the Holocaust, however not enough of the people who were at fault have been prosecuted.
During the Nuremberg trials, 22 Nazi officials were tried for their war crimes, and 10 were
sentenced to death by hanging. In some cases, crimes are so terrible, and people are such threats,
that execution is necessary. Unfortunately, these trials took a very long time, and there was quite a
large gap in which they had the privilege of leading happy lives that they did not deserve, before
they were convicted for their crimes. Many people realized that this was going to be the case for
Nazis, and decided to create their own justice. This was the case in the assassination of Reinhard
Heydrich. He was a monstrous leader of the Nazi party, second in command only to Adolf Hitler
himself, with the blood of millions on his hands. It is likely that he would have been convicted and
sentenced at Nuremberg for his terrible war crimes anyway had he not been assassinated. Although
some argued that he only acted the way that he did because of his upbringing by his "eccentric"
father, Reinhard Heydrich's assassination was justified, because he played a key role in organizing
and initiating the Kristallnacht, and the Holocaust itself. Reinhard Heydrich was a very bright young

Nazi Extermination Camps Essay
Nazi Extermination Camps
Anti–Semitism reached to extreme levels beginning in 1939, when Polish Jews were regularly
rounded up and shot by members of the SS. Though some of these SS men saw the arbitrary killing
of Jews as a sport, many had to be lubricated with large quantities of alcohol before committing
these atrocious acts. Mental trauma was not uncommon amongst those men who were ordered to
murder Jews. The establishment of extermination camps therefore became the "Final Solution" to
the "Jewish Question", as well as a way to alleviate the mental trauma that grappled the minds of
Nazi soldiers. The following essay will examine various primary and secondary sources to better

After the gas vans of Chelmno were phased out, SS officials began devising new methods of
extermination that would kill more Jews at an accelerated rate. Fischer notes that the Nazis "decided
that execution by poison gas in remote annihilation camps was the most efficient and 'humane'
method of murdering the Jews." Aktion Reinhard (named after Reinhard Heydrich who was
assassinated in Czechoslovakia) was the plan aimed to exterminate Polish Jews living within
General Government to the East. Because the Jewish population here was high (2.3 million), three
major death camps equipped with large gas chambers were established. Jews who were considered
unfit for work (including many women and children) were extracted from labor camps to be
exterminated. Belzec, located on the southwest border of former Poland, was the first extermination
center initially built to kill off Jews from the Galicia and Lublin regions in order to make room for
German Jews in the labor camps. Noakes interestingly notes that Belzec was "an experimental
solution to a regional problem rather than the start of a Europe–wide extermination programme." In
other words, Belzec was designed initially to kill the Jews in the East, while the decision to murder
the entirety of Europe's Jewish population had not yet been realized. According to Noakes,

The dictation of all of the members remains vague throughout the meeting, leaving much of the
decisions up to interpretation. This is caused by the use of words such as "cleanse" and "evacuation"
instead of directly stating the goals of killing anyone that has been identified as a Jew. One of the
main deceptions used is "solving the Jewish question" and it has implications of being an easy
question to solve. The goal was to have total "'physical eradication" and "cleanse the entire
continent." This deception is then followed to the methods used to kill. The 'T–4 program' was
established as a plan to sterilize any individual with a mental disability. This leads to the
conversation of which method of sterilization should be used and is most effective. As the meeting
proceeds, the joke is made; "who would want them?" and is responded to with a chorus of laughter.
This meeting was accompanied by many lawyers or well–educated men leading to the statement that
"it [a law degree] has made me distrustful of language," giving reason to the limited specifics
mentioned. Throughout the meeting the German leaders are not specific in their plan. This allows
for them to justify what is being done by claiming it was not their intention for a certain act to
happen. Even though the film ends with a decision to continue with the Jewish extermination, it
took convincing and force for all of these men to agree. Regardless of each individual's opinion, the
plan of extermination would

Slide Title: Swastika (NC)
What is the Swastika?
–The Swastika is the common symbol you imagine when you hear the term Nazi. It's the the red,
black, and white symbol that the Nazis kind of just took over and made theirs. The Swastika is a
cross, or plus sign that is folded at the end. For the Nazis it is black, in a white circle on a red
background.
Where it came from
–Nazi Germany might have took the Swastika and kind of made it theirs, but they did not create the
Swastika. The Swastika was originally a sacred symbol in the Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and
Odinism, and still is.
Different Meanings
–Since the Swastika is from all these different places and cultures, it has different meanings. It
means good luck and good future in Europe, whereas in Germany the Swastika was a symbol of
"Aryan identity" and German pride.
What it symbolized for the Germans and today
–The Swastika had a completely different meaning for the Germans though. The Swastika was
meant to take away pride from the Aryans. It also terrified Jews and other enemies of Nazi
Germany. Today, the Swastika is now associated with Nazi Germany and the use of the Swastika
causes problems between

The Great Conroversy of the Nazca Lines
Without a doubt the architecture and the grandeur of Pumapunku is awe–inspiring, but just because
something might not be easily explained at first glance does not mean that an explanation does not
exist, buried in the history. Meanwhile nearly 500 miles to the Northeast of Tiwanaku lays another
site of great controversy and is what many ancient alien theorists call the extraterrestrial airport.
Located deep in the Nazca Dessert in southern Peru lies one of the most identifiable archeological
sites when it comes to evidence for aliens being among in the past; the Nazca Lines. Ever since they
became known in the 1920s, when a commercial airplane flew over the dessert, these mysterious
encryptions have puzzled scientists from anthropology to archeology, and just about anyone else
fascinated by the lines and just what they mean or how they got there. Since they were discovered
scientists have tried to explain them as roads, an ancient calendar system, and landing places for
alien space ships. Leading alien theorist Erich Von Daniken theorizes in his book Chariots of the
Gods? that the complexity and interworking's of the glyphs were beyond the capability of the Nazca
culture and that their sole purpose was to act as landing strips and that the shapes of animals were
used as reference points. Although it might be easy for some people to accept these theories as the
only plausible explanation, because what else could the Nazca Lines be. However, just because
something is not

How Did The Holocaust Start And Why Did This Occur?
Life The Secret Annex How did the Holocaust start and why did this occur? The Holocaust
happened in Germany and in Eastern Europe. The victims of the Holocaust were gathered from
across Europe, but most of the actual killing was done in parts of Eastern, the best–known of the
camps that were used to kill Holocaust victims were in Poland. These camps included Chelmno,
Belzec, Sobibor, Treblinka, and the most notorious of all the death camps, Auschwitz. Auschwitz
was the site of the deaths of more than a million of the victims of the Holocaust. These were the
major death camps that were used in the Holocaust. Jewish people were not treated fair and they
were hurt. Their lives ended early for most jewish people because of this. Anne and her family 's
lives were ended poorly. They hid with the Van Danns and were caught one day because of a break
in. Anne had a diary, she told the diary everything about her. That diary was found and kept safe.
Neither the Franks or the Van Danns had a fair live because of the Holocaust experience. They didn
't get to pick their culture. Living within the Secret Annex wasn 't the easiest thing ever done.
Secrets were kept, stories were revealed, things changed in the Frank 's life and the Van Danns life.
Not everyone got along well in the secret annex. There were limitations and restrictions they all had
to follow. The room annex wasn 't a huge house, they had to share lots of things. Many fears would

German Nazi: The Wannsee Protocol Essay
The Wannsee Conference is an event that took place during World War II on January 20 1942 in a
small Berlin suburb called Wannsee. This conference was set up by Reinhard Heydrich, the Chief of
Security Police for the Nazi's (otherwise known as the SS) and was attended by many high ranking
officials in the Nazi regime. The conference was set up in order to discuss and implement 'The Final
Solution to the Jewish Question' in regards to the Jewish population in Europe. The minutes of this
conference were written down and are now known as the Wannsee Protocol. Even before the
Wannsee Conference took place Jews were already being executed by the Einsatzgruppen, or
otherwise known as the mobile killing units of the SS. Anti– Semitism and the ... Show more

When Germany invaded Soviet Russia, Himmler gave orders to the SS Cavalry Brigade in Russia to
"shoot all Jewish men and in addition demanded that violent measures were to be taken against
Jewish women." Himmler's orders were understood differently by both the 1st Cavalry and the 2nd
Cavalry, as the 1st Cavalry murdered all Jews without distinction which meant, men women and
children were murdered.. According to Peter Longerich on August 11 the mounted unit reported that
the 1st Cavalry from August 3rd to the 11th "had shot 6,504 people, although the full total can be
estimated at 11,000 people." The 2nd SS Cavalry Regime shot 6,526 people between August 5th–
11th, but many believe that number was closer to 14,000 . Unlike the 1st SS cavalry Regime a
majority of the people murdered by the 2nd regime were mostly men. The final Report by the SS
Brigade that was written on September 18 1941 reported that more 25,000 Jews were murdered in
August alone. Peter Longerich estimates that by the end of 1941 that the number of European Jews
killed "during the first two phases of the persecution of the Jews in the occupied Eastern areas must
be of the order of at least 500,000." Even before the Wannsee Conference took place Jews in Europe
were being murdered in large numbers in countries that Germany were occupying; countries such as
Soviet Russia and Poland. Even though thousands of Jews were already being killed in Europe
before the Wannsee Conference, many of the

Film Unfinished Film Analysis

  • 1. Film Unfinished Film Analysis The truth if the film was that the Jewish people had nothing. The SS and the filmmakers embarrassed the Jews by disrespecting their religion: making men and women wash their sins in a holy bath, and giving little portions of food so they would starve. The ghetto was a temporary place for most Jews, but was the extermination of some. But the journey for the Jewish people in the ghetto had just began. A Film Unfinished showed what the ghetto was like before the Jewish people who lived took their next stop in their journey. The Jewish people who didn't die in the ghetto was sent to concentration camps in other parts of Poland. The Concentration camps and the ghetto itself was established by the SS. The SS was in charge of what happened in Germany, Hitler no longer took actions. The SS didn't inaugurate the ghetto over the course of a night. It took a lot of planning to build places such as the ghetto and the concentration camps. The man who started all the actions of the crimes against humanity towards the Jewish population in Germany was the leader of the SS, Heinrich Himmler. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Himmler believed "the world was overrun by subhuman races, and the superior race (Aryan) should return back to power" (Heinrich Himmler Ppt 2). Himmler was mentally unstable. He truly thought "he was the reincarnation of king Heinrich I who was a 10th century saxon king" (Heinrich Himmler Ppt 5). As leader of the SS, Himmler sent his soldiers to do tremendous things such as: kidnapped children with Aryan characteristics from their parents, kidnapped Poland; Russian; and ukrainian children, eliminated those of inferior racial backgrounds, and created false racial science to justify their racism (Heinrich Himmler Ppt 4–5). What was it like in the places the resided and what were their conditions? Were ghettos anything like how the are today? Contrary to popular belief and question, ghettos belong to neither African Americans, nor were they created by the Nazis. They were actually used to describe European areas where Jews were prohibited. These areas were actually quite common within the nation and are only "slang" in today's usage to describe undesirable areas. These restrictions occurred mostly in cities, but occasionally meant an entire country had restrictions on their ranges. Religion was a strongpoint for their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Is Learning About The Second World War Important? Is learning about The Second World War important? The Second World War began in 1940, and ended in 1945. The main reason why the war started was that a man called Adolf Hitler were against all the Jews. He meant that the Jews had good educations, and got all the important and big jobs in the society. It is important that we learn about this happening, in that way we can try to not make it happened again. In this essay, I am going to write more about why we should learn about the Second World War, what the final solution did to the Jews and why we should try to not make it happened again and I'm going to tell about how we can use Anne Frank's diary to get a view in to the war. It is important that we learn about the Second World War. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When we learn about the Second World War, we learn about all the consequences the war gave us. In that way, I hope we have a reason to not make any World War 3. That one man could have so much hate to a kind of people is not okay. If someone thought like this today, I think that we will have enough laws and police to stop them/him, her. "Who says I am not under the special protection of God?" –Adolf Hitler. (Goodreads) this s a quote Hitler said. If you read it and think, what it could mean. I would probably think that he taught himself that he was sent from God to help the society, and that God always should him. However, all he actually did was destroying the society. But The Second World War did also help us to develop medicines. The final solution was a solution directed to the Jews under the Second World War. SS–general Reinhard Heydrich got an order from Hitler in the ending of 1941 to make the solution. January 20. 1920, he had a plan for the final solution, he had worked together with Adolf Eicmann. They shared their example of the final solution at a conference in Berlin called Wannsee–conference, after 1 hour and 20 minutes, they got a plan for the final solution, or "die endløsung" in German. The final solution said that all the Jews should be exterminated. With this solution they decides that they should start the worlds biggest genocide. As a follower from this solution they ... Himmler was appointed the task of carrying out the Final Solution created by Hitler, which was then delegated to even more people. Himmler "led the SS into a large paramilitary organization that was prominent in Nazi Germany," ("Himmler"). Himmler oversaw all the operations of the Nazi state, by bringing up the SS into a prominent position therefore making him a key figure in the atrocities committed by the Nazi Party using the SS and its agencies. • 5. The Horrors of the Holocaust Essay The Horrors of the Holocaust Eighteen million Europeans went through the Nazi concentration camps. Eleven million of them died, almost half of them at Auschwitz alone.1 Concentration camps are a revolting and embarrassing part of the world's history. There is no doubt that concentration camps are a dark and depressing topic. Despite this, it is a subject that needs to be brought out into the open. The world needs to be educated on the tragedies of the concentration camps to prevent the reoccurrence of the Holocaust. Hitler's camps imprisoned, tortured, and killed millions of Jews for over five years. Even though these two camps had the facilities of the killing centers, execution was not their only purpose. These centers also used the Jews for labor exploitation.6 The eleven concentration camps were created "to house large numbers of people in a limited, structured, and defined area . . . until they died or were killed."7 Although thousands of camps existed, these were the Big Nineteen. The smaller camps "were attached to, allied with, or under the supervision of the Big Nineteen."8 The basic purpose of the camps was to use the Jews for labor and then kill them. There was more to it than that, however. Konnilyn G. Feig describes the purpose of the camps as follows: The system strove to develop from a primitive incarceration project to a vast unprecedented network for the suppression, containment, exploitation, and extermination of millions of people of various nationalities who were designated as enemies of the state or as members of a nonhuman or inferior population.9 Hitler thought of the Jewish population as a worthless society and treated the individuals as worthless creatures. When Hitler came to power, he established the camps "for the purpose of isolation, punishing, torturing, and killing Germans suspected of opposition to his regime."10 The Germans wanted to guarantee the death of as many Jews as possible "while extracting some useful labor from the doomed."11 The camps were set up technically and psychologically to ... • 7. The Is Not The Right Word Essay How many people will I kill in my lifetime? I am not some deranged serial killer with deadly intentions, but I am a person that is aware that my actions could have ramifications that I cannot possibly fathom. Perhaps "kill" is not the right word. How many deaths will I be responsible for by the time I leave this earth? Much better. As Susan Griffin asserts in "Our Secret", the lives of everyone on this planet are much more intertwined that most like to believe. As are the lives of those who have come before, and those that will come after. This is what she refers to as us being part of a "larger matrix". There is a particular scene in a favorite movie of mine, Good Will Hunting, which I think perfectly sums up this idea. "Why shouldn 't I work for the N.S.A.? That 's a tough one, but I 'll take a shot. Say I 'm working at N.S.A. Somebody puts a code on my desk, something nobody else can break. Maybe I take a shot at it and maybe I break it. And I 'm real happy with myself, 'cause I did my job well. But maybe that code was the location of some rebel army in North Africa or the Middle East. Once they have that location, they bomb the village where the rebels were hiding and fifteen hundred people I never met, never had no problem with, get killed" I understand that this is just a scene from a movie, but I think that the premise stands. We all make thousands of decisions in a day, millions in a lifetime. Some major, some minor. Who is to say that one of those countless ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Holocaust was a horrific tragedy that killed nearly 6 million Jewish civilians. It took place for a number of the reasons. Germany had proven to be an anti–Semitic country for centuries and Jews were used as scapegoats for German problems. Centuries of Nazi persecution cause the Holocaust particularly in 1933–1939 as well as Adolf Hitler and his racist opinions which influenced the German people. The Jews struggled to keep hope and attempted to keep themselves normal and not show their emotion to the Nazi's. They helped others by organizing religious worships, by fasting on religious holidays despite them being starving. The Jewish resistance remained non–violent until 1943 when armed and active resistance began. Armed active resistance in the ghettos were more violent and open. The resistances were very organized and often spontaneous. Jewish youth were deeply involved in planning hiding and escapes where they learned that they could escape the ghettos by running into forests. The Jews tried to smuggle arms into the ghetto to train fighters and start a plan of a battle alert if there was surprise attack by the Germans. The Jewish people were scared and hopeless and some did not want to fight back the Nazi's, they kept their heads down and voices low so that they could go under the radar and stay alive for as long as possible. Einsatzgruppen's Role In Ww2 Events 1940 –1945 Event 1: Einsatzgruppen Initially conceived in 1938, the Einsatzgruppen participated in the relatively cordial annexation of Austria and certain regions of Czechoslovakia to the Third Reich ("The Einsatzgruppen" par. 3). In consonance with Merriman and Winter, units were comprised of the Sonderkommandos, that administered in the Soviet Union near the theater of operations, or the more conspicuous Einsatzkommandos, which operated inside the battlefield. Formulated as motorized mobile units, they would be transmuted into officers of the Gestapo or the Sicherheitsdienst after several weeks of service. However, methods of recruitment were altered as the Einsatzgruppen matured. Subsequent the invasion of Poland, units were equipped with heavier artillery; this marked the deviation from security to genocidal action (par. 5). The article "Einsatzgruppen (Mobile Killing Units)", in June 1941, the Einsatzgruppen followed the German army as they ventured deep into Soviet territory. Given objectives to persecute and murder those perceived to be racial and political opponents to the regime, they went directly to the homes of Jewish residence and massacred them (par. 3). These units motivated and provoked the beginning of the Holocaust. The anonymous writer of "The Einsatzgruppen" illustrates how the regime disposed of their adversaries: The ... • 13. Compare And Contrast Heydrich And Ernest Shackleton (STATE THESIS) When it comes to the leading their respective teams, Ernest Shackleton and Reinhard Heydrich's approaches to leadership could not be more contradictory. This is not to say that their differences make either of them a good or misleader. Each individual demonstrated qualities that would classify him in either category. However, it is ultimately the intentions of the leader and the presence of or complete disregard for humanity that categorizes each man where he falls. Holistically, in order to determine what makes an individual an effective leader or a misleader, one must first understand the aspects of leadership. While it is impossible to condense what makes a leader into a short list of qualities and ideas, for the intent of this paper, the comparative aspects of leadership will be limited to: character, skills/talent, and results. To begin, character can be understood as the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. Warren Buffet was quoted saying, "there are three main qualities involved in leadership: integrity, intelligence, and energy; without the first, the other two will kill you," (Warren Buffet). In reference to Ernest Shackleton, the mariner was known by his crew to be optimistic, generous, and fair. It is a look into the human mind to see what makes people do the things they do and in particular what makes people commit acts of violence. She isolates the first half of the twentieth century and in particular the era of the Second World War as a basis for her study. The essay discusses a number of people but they all tie in to Heinrich Himmler. He is the extreme case, he who can be linked directly to every single death in the concentration camps. Griffin seeks to examine Himmler because if she can discern a monster like Himmler than everyone else simply falls into place. He describes himself as an instrument of the Fuhrer's will" (Griffin 421). Did the violence in Himmler stem from his adoration of his brother, the perfect physical specimen. Heinrich tried his whole life to be like his older brother, strong and masculine. So much so that while serving as Reichsfuhrer he devised a set of standards for the "Aryan Race" to live up to. One could argue that these standards were modeled after his brother. Himmler's belief in physical superiority led to the suppression and deaths of many who did not measure up which is ironic because Himmler himself was frail and did not meet any of his own standards. • 18. Adolf Hitler Individuals At Fault For The Holocaust Adolf Hitler is not individually at fault for the Holocaust, as his followers and advisors can also be put to blame for the terror that occurred within and around Germany. Leaders such as Reinhard Heydrich and Rudolf Hess played a key role in the success of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler. Also, Hitler would have gotten nowhere without the support of millions in Germany. Although Hitler was most definitely at fault personally, he also gained support as Germans chose to join him, while advisors helped him throughout the time of the holocaust and World War 2, proving that he would have not been successful individually. Hitler's rise to power began after a complete and destructive collapse of the German economy, after the horror of the first world war. According to schoolshistory.org.uk, 1.7 million young German men were killed in the first world war, and another 4.3 million Germans were injured in the war. However, in Mary Shelley's novel, Frankenstein, she gets readers to sympathize with crimeful characters. In this case, specifically, the creature and his irresponsible creator, Victor Frankenstein. Shelley uses convincing words to portray the message that the creature is guiltless. Even as the creature slaughters Victor's family members readers continues to show compassion towards him. Many questions arise when considering Victor Frankenstein and the creature's behavior. Why is it that even a murderer can be seen as innocent ? How does that person's environment affect their actions and decisions? Also, how much responsibility does a creator have for what he creates? Although, the creature is referred to as a "beast". It can be easily proved that the creator of the creature , Victor Frankenstein, is the true cause of the creatures moral corruptness and raged actions. Victor's actions and decisions introduce the thematic topic "responsibility", leading to the purpose of the novel. Shelley gets readers to sympathize with the characters by using a helpless and extremely persuasive tone. For example, "You are in the wrong, replied the fiend, and instead of threatening I am consent to reason with you" (Ch.17). Joseph Goebbels was born in 1897 and became a doctor in philosophy in 1920. Due to his hatred of the terms of the Treaty of Versailles, he joined the Nazi party near the end of 1924 to help build support for the party in Berlin. In 1923 he was given full control of the Nazi 's propaganda machine. Goebbels was elected into the Reichstag in 1928 and, at 1933, was given the role as the 'Minister of Enlightenment and Propaganda ', which he worked as until 1945. His skill at the role gave him the nickname as the 'Poison Dwarf '. At the near–end of the Second World War when Berlin was besieged by the Russians during April to May 1945, Joseph stayed with Hitler in his ' bunker. Which he was given Hitler 's watch as a token of appreciation for being with him to the very end. On May 1st, Goebbels poisoned his six children then shot his wife and then himself. Hermann Goering was born in 1893 and found popularity in World War One as a fighter ace. Winning many awards for bravery and was the last commander of the infamous Richthofen Fighter Squadron. He joined the Nazi Party in October 1922 and wounded in the Munich Putsch. In 1928, Goering got elected to the Reichstag before he got back from Sweden. During 1932, he was ... One way the Jews, Roma, etc. were exterminated were gas chambers they were designed as "low, long, and broad buildings that were built of grey concrete and had a flat roof made of roofing felt, with a net over it covered with branches. Innocent human beings were abducted and put into concentration camps from 1933 to 1945, where they were tortured and forced to work long hours, each day, without food or water. Eventually, more than half of the Jews were killed and only a small amount of them survived. The Holocaust happened because of one man's plan to rid the world of all Jews. He was determined to succeed. Adolf Hitler began a movement that resulted in the execution of six million Jews. With an outspoken anti–Jewish mayor, Karl Lueger, and many anti–Jewish newspapers and magazines there was no restriction on antisemitism, and Hitler was strongly influenced by this ("Why Adolf Hitler Hated Jews"). • 28. Rienhard Heydrich's Death During The Holocaust The Holocaust was a dark time in humanity's history; a time that should be looked back on in shame. People lost their compassion and empathy towards one another. These emotions are essential in keeping peace and harmony throughout the world, and give mankind a natural kindheartedness towards one another. Having the innate sense to feel for one another and understand the trials and tribulations others go through is what truly makes us human. This is what was lost during the Holocaust. The inherent good that humans are born with, was taken away by Adolf Hitler and his Third Reich. It led to the deaths of entire cultures and millions of innocent peoples' lives were changed for the worse. However, the Nazis did not carry out the mass killings of ... Heydrich was highly regarded by his superiors. Hitler even stated that Heydrich was "one of the best National Socialists, one of the staunchest defenders of the concept of the German Reich and one of the greatest opponents of all enemies of this Reich" (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum). Before his death, he was tasked with helping structure the Final Solution. Himmler and Hitler sent him to represent them in the Wannsee Conference in January 20, 1942, to discuss to the German offices the solution to the Jewish question (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum). Judging by Hitler's words and Heydrich's high ranking in the Nazi government, Heydrich was very well respected by Himmler and was his right–hand man. And when Heydrich died in 1942 Himmler was very hurt by it and wanted to carry on his legacy. This is what triggered Himmler to start the Final Solution. So he commenced Operation Rienhard, which was named in honor of Heydrich. Operation Rienhard was started in the autumn of 1941 (but later renamed in honor of Heydrich) and marked the start of the Final Solution as history knows it today (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum). This is what the book, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, is based on. It informs the reader that the holocaust occurred. Who were these people, and what were they doing there? There are many examples on why it was a bad thing that Bruno was oblivious about the Holocaust. The holocaust was a gruesome time where Jews were killed for their beliefs. The leader of the Nazi party was Hitler. He believed that Jews were bad people and they should be punished for their crimes. While the Jews lived in this camp, they were tortured, mistreated, worked to death and eventually were put to death by either execution by firearm or were put into a death camp which exterminated the Jews using poison gas. The Nazi Party had developed many death camps in the central european area including the 6 death camps of Poland; Auschwitz, Treblinka, Belzec, Chelmno, Sobibor, and Majdanek. Little has been published on Chelmno due to its significance as the first extermination camp to become operational death camp. Chelmno concentration camp was established in November 1941 and was exclusively used for the executions of Soviet prisoners and Jews, most of whom were Polish. The extermination camp at Chelmno demands special attention, because during the German occupation only a very few people in Poland ever knew of its existence and the hundreds of thousands of its victims. Chelmno introduced the most deadly phase of the Holocaust. Its victims were from 36 communities in western Poland, along with 88 children from Czech town whose population was decimated as a collective reprisal for the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in May of 1942. The facilities at Chelmno included three gas vans and two crematoria. Gassing at Chelmno began on December 8, 1941 just hours before Pearl Harbor was struck by Japanese planes. • 32. Reinhard Heydrich And The Assassination Of The Holocaust During the Holocaust, many innocent people were killed at the hands of the German Nazi Party, otherwise known as the Third Reich. Some of the worst war crimes in history were committed during the Holocaust, however not enough of the people who were at fault have been prosecuted. During the Nuremberg trials, 22 Nazi officials were tried for their war crimes, and 10 were sentenced to death by hanging. In some cases, crimes are so terrible, and people are such threats, that execution is necessary. Unfortunately, these trials took a very long time, and there was quite a large gap in which they had the privilege of leading happy lives that they did not deserve, before they were convicted for their crimes. Many people realized that this was going to be the case for Nazis, and decided to create their own justice. This was the case in the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. He was a monstrous leader of the Nazi party, second in command only to Adolf Hitler himself, with the blood of millions on his hands. It is likely that he would have been convicted and sentenced at Nuremberg for his terrible war crimes anyway had he not been assassinated. Although some argued that he only acted the way that he did because of his upbringing by his "eccentric" father, Reinhard Heydrich's assassination was justified, because he played a key role in organizing and initiating the Kristallnacht, and the Holocaust itself. Though some of these SS men saw the arbitrary killing of Jews as a sport, many had to be lubricated with large quantities of alcohol before committing these atrocious acts. Mental trauma was not uncommon amongst those men who were ordered to murder Jews. After the gas vans of Chelmno were phased out, SS officials began devising new methods of extermination that would kill more Jews at an accelerated rate. Fischer notes that the Nazis "decided that execution by poison gas in remote annihilation camps was the most efficient and 'humane' method of murdering the Jews." Aktion Reinhard (named after Reinhard Heydrich who was assassinated in Czechoslovakia) was the plan aimed to exterminate Polish Jews living within General Government to the East. Because the Jewish population here was high (2.3 million), three major death camps equipped with large gas chambers were established. Jews who were considered unfit for work (including many women and children) were extracted from labor camps to be exterminated. Belzec, located on the southwest border of former Poland, was the first extermination center initially built to kill off Jews from the Galicia and Lublin regions in order to make room for German Jews in the labor camps. Noakes interestingly notes that Belzec was "an experimental solution to a regional problem rather than the start of a Europe–wide extermination programme." In other words, Belzec was designed initially to kill the Jews in the East, while the decision to murder the entirety of Europe's Jewish population had not yet been realized. According to Noakes, ... The dictation of all of the members remains vague throughout the meeting, leaving much of the decisions up to interpretation. This is caused by the use of words such as "cleanse" and "evacuation" instead of directly stating the goals of killing anyone that has been identified as a Jew. One of the main deceptions used is "solving the Jewish question" and it has implications of being an easy question to solve. The goal was to have total "'physical eradication" and "cleanse the entire continent." This deception is then followed to the methods used to kill. The 'T–4 program' was established as a plan to sterilize any individual with a mental disability. This leads to the conversation of which method of sterilization should be used and is most effective. As the meeting proceeds, the joke is made; "who would want them?" and is responded to with a chorus of laughter. This meeting was accompanied by many lawyers or well–educated men leading to the statement that "it [a law degree] has made me distrustful of language," giving reason to the limited specifics mentioned. Throughout the meeting the German leaders are not specific in their plan. This allows for them to justify what is being done by claiming it was not their intention for a certain act to happen.
