3. Process
In my first experiment I planned to turn a bright photo of a field
into a dark and eerie image to get an idea on how I would edit
my photos when beginning production on my posters r any other
promotional media I decide to create. I started off by using the
burn tool to darken up the full image and to darken any specific
point I wanted, for example the trees in the background. Next I
got an image of a ghost like hand pushing through some cloth to
imitate a zombie coming from the ground. I added it onto a
second layer and adjusted the opacity altogether and then a
little extra around the edges to blend it into the background. I
also made sure the layer was set to opacity. I then used the burn
tool again to imitate folds and creases in the fabric so it looked
more realistic, I also used the dodge tool to highlight any parts of
the sky I wanted brighter and any details on the hand.
4. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– I plan to include use of the opacity and overlay
settings as I like how it makes photos blend nicely
together and make it look ominous. I also think
that the burn and dodge tool will be useful too for
defining any sections I like.
6. Process
For this experiment I tried following a YouTube tutorial however
it did not turn out I wanted. Despite this I think that I have leant
some new techniques which could be useful in my fmp and any
other future projects I do. I had used a vector mask to make it
seem as If the girl had cracks on her face but I had made them to
light so they didn't show up very well. I also used the drop
shadow effect, which I am already familiar with, to create depth
in the photo.
7. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– In my final product will definitely use the drop
shadow effect as I like how it defined things. I will
also probably use the vector mask effect as it
makes blending things together and layering
things a lot easier.
