Guidance is a process of helping individual, through his own efforts, to discover
& develop his potentialities for his personal happiness and social usefulness.
EVALUATION
It is a process of making judgments that are to be used as a basis for planning.
It consists of establishing goals, collecting evidence concerning growth or lack of
growth towards goals in the light of the judgments. It is a procedure for
improving the product, process and even goals themselves.
4. What is guidance programme?
The cumulative resources of staff and techniques used by a
school to assist students in resolving scholastic or social
problems. A specialized approach will include professionally
trained counselors, social workers, and test administrators who
each have specified functions within the overall program.

Evaluation.
3. Completion — Summative, Outcome, and
Impact Evaluation.
4. Dissemination and Reporting.
5. Revisit the Objectives
• To ascertain how far the aims of Guidance program has been
achieved?
• To eliminate or improve less effective components of the program.
• To adapt and refine the guidance program and implementation process.
• To obtain financial support for guidance Program.
• To ascertain whether the existing material and human resources are
sufficient to meet needs and demands of rapidly increasing number of
students.

7. Program evaluation can be defined as “the systematic
collection of information about the activities, characteristics,
and outcomes of programs, for use by people to reduce
uncertainties, improve effectiveness, and make decisions”

• Counsellor has no time for self evaluation.

8. Remedies and Follow up
• Remedy is to innovate mental health care, and to work with
clients to amplify and support the lives.
• The follow-up services is the component of a complete and
compact guidance program.
• The purpose of follow-up service is to help in keeping an
efficient guidance program for its past pupils. However the
school after receiving proper information about the various
problems of its former pupils can effectively organize follow-
up services to help them for their adjustment.
