2. During our production we used two costumes both in which were
extremely different from each other. We chose to do this in order to
represent the change in the characters identity as the narrative
develops, this helps the audience to understand what is going on
more easily.
The two costumes we used were a prisoners uniform and a smart
look blouse and shirt. Originally we were going to have the prisoner
transform into the guards uniform, however, due too money and in
order for it to look realistic we decided to go for a more smart look.
Although if we did have more time ,we would use the guards uniform
as I believe it would look more effective and also suiting the sub-
genre more.
I believe that the prisoners outfit was very effective as portraying the
antagonist as a criminal , this costume idea has also been used in
other movies. However, typically when the major Hollywood films
include a prisoner their costume is normally a bright orange
jumpsuits which is more stereotypical so we challenged this
convention as we believe it represents the narrative and sub-genre
better.
3. Costume number one…
• As you can see in the picture of
the prisoners costume we
dressed our antagonist in a grey
tracksuit. We believe this created
a criminal look as the colours are
very plane and dull which I
believe helps represents the
character misery.
• By using a grey tracksuit I believe
this makes the idea of the
antagonist being in prison more
realistic compared to if we used a
orange jumpsuit as its more
original and realistic.
4. Costume number two..
• As you can see for this costume we
wanted to create a formal , classy
look as the antagonist changes her
identity. The blouse and shirt are
quite stereotypical due to her being
female however we decided to use
this look as it’s the complete
opposite to costume number one,
The bright colours help to represent
a new beginning and makes the
antagonist seem innocent.
• I believe this costume worked well
as the audience can clearly see a
change in the antagonist and helps
to represent the narrative.
