3. The Greek Civil War was
fought from 1946 -1949
by Greece’s national
army (supported by US &
UK) and the Democratic
Army of Greece
(supported by USSR). In
the end the national
army won the war and
Greece joined NATO
expanding western
influence.

4. The Korean War began in 1950
and an armistice was signed
in 1953. The war was between
the North (supported by The
USSR) and the South
(supported by NATO). Korea
was meant to have an election
to determine its future but
the USSR became paranoid
about losing it to the
western world so it arranged
an invasion of the southern
half of the country. Korea is
still divided today between
the communist north and the
liberal south.
