• For 200 people in Tarsa village, in Hunedoara
County, living cut-off from the rest of the world for
weeks or even months is something normal. In
Autumn, every family stocks up on serious supplies
for the winter such as: Sugar, Flour, Cooking oil and
many others ingredients. Every winter brings long
periods of total isolation for the inhabitants. Life is
hard in Tarsa, but surprinsigly, nobody complains.
• The village is composed of roughly 70 houses
spread out on a summit West of Surianu
Mountains. It is closer to the old Dacian capital,
Sarmizegetusa than Brosorod.
• The inhabitants are mostly self sustained, and they
rely strongly on their farm animals. They only ever
come down into town to sell their animals in the
local market.
