■ Determines if learners have gained the expected knowledge or skills (short-term outcomes)
■ Occurs immediately after a learning experience (but can be mid-session)
■ Examples:
– return demonstration
– cognitive tests after a seminar
■ Can use resources that were used to teach content
■ Scope is limited to the learning experience and stated objectives
