Project proposal title and date:
3D animated Trailer and Promotional Material and Merchandise
Main area of activity:
I will mostly work in 3D animation with post effects added in after effects and music and sound
added in Premiere Pro. The 3D animation will most likely take form of cinematic trailer alongside
other promotional material and merchandise such as Posters, Shirts, covers, etc
Rationale:
This year I have progressed a lot in my 3D abilities. I have done some 3D or use of effects
software In my productions. In music video I used Maya, Substance Painter and Element3D to
create characters. I used AfterEffects in production of my Videogame, and I used a AfterEffects to
create graphics and effects for my magazine. Alongside I have learnt soft-surface modeling,
texturing, mechanical rigging, animation and rendering.
Creating in 3D pushes my skill and my abilities. I want to work in VFX. I am doing Sci-Fi because
I’m interested in it. Sci-Fi elements I’m confident with as they have simpler geometry than most
genres. This is pushing my abilities, however, I know what I’m doing as I done products like this.
Project Concept:
For my project I will use my skills of 3D to create a 3D animated product alongside promotional
material and merchandise. I will use Professional software that I know how to use to create these
products.
I am making a trailer for an Science Fiction animated movie. This will be aimed towards teenagers
to young adults. This will be inspired by Star Wars: the Clone Wars, Stargate: Atlantis and Mass
Effect and will be influenced by them in the ways stated in my Initial Plans
I will need to experiment with Rendering video as this one of the more complicated areas. Im
planning on using Renderman to render my video however it is an extremely powerful render
engine that even my computer would struggle to render so I would have to use a render farm or
significantly lower the quality because 10 seconds at 24fps at 1080p can take hours. However If I
cant use renderman I’ll have to experiment with other ways of rendering.
I will need to research my audience because that will allow me to better aim my product towards
them and what they like.
I will need to research existing products to look at the standard of the industry. I will also be able to
break down aspects of the products to see what I could try and recreate to implement into my
product to increase its look and quality

How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I will evaluate my work based on Objective aesthetic qualities and conduct peer reviews of my
work where they can offer an unbiased opinion. I will conduct a Production reflection to reflect
upon my production. My evaluation will analyze the outcome of my product. so I can identify the
strengths and weaknesses of my product and look at what went wrong and I can then improve my
future work
