the other fonts used, the colour used is white and
this is different from the other colours that are used
on the front cover and this is so that it stands out to
people.

4. Sell line: This sell line is used to advertise the
magazine and to attract the audience to the
magazine, the font is sans serif and yellow to stand
out to the reader.

5. Main image: The main image is the artist Maceo
Plex who the artist that is mentioned on the main
cover line. The image is central and has a red effect
over it to follow the colour scheme of the front
cover. Although the artists is wearing glasses it is
still a direct gaze which causes the front cover to
stand out. The main image is anchored by the main
cover line.

6. Cover lines: The colour lines follow a colour scheme
and a house style, they use the same font and are
all sans serif with only the colours yellow and white
used. The cover lines are used to show what may be
included in the magazine and are anchored by pull
quotes to further attract the reader to buy the
magazine so they can read what is inside. Most of
the font is also the same and is in capitals. The front
cover also has a “PLUS” section which shows the
reader what else may be inside.

7. Pull quotes: “No cake throwing please I’m john
digweed” this is a typical pull quote and is used to
make the audience of the magazine think about
what could possible be the story behind the strange
quote.

8. Main cover line: The main cover line is used to state
what the main double page spread will normally be
about in the magazine. The font used for the artists
name is different from the rest of the front cover
and is also central so it will stand out. The font
colour is yellow and the text underneath the artists
name is white and sans serif so that it stands out
next to the artists name. Both are central so that
the audience knows it is important.

9. By-line: White sans serif font to give picture credits
to who photographed the main artist on the front
cover.

website of the magazine so that readers will be able
to visit the mixmag website if they wish too, the
text is white and sans serif, the price is in bold so it
stands out next to the website.
The barcode of the magazine is located at the
bottom right of the front cover and is horizontally
placed.

11. The name of the magazine once again, in the same
style of the masthead. The release date and the
issue number of the magazine is also located here
so that people can know what issue the magazine is.
The issue is “DECEMBER 2013” which suggests that
it is published monthly which means it will likely
include more than a weekly magazine would.
