3. WHAT IS A PHC ?
Primary Health Centre (PHCs), sometimes referred to as public health
centres, are state-owned rural healthcare facilitiesin India. They are
essentiallysingle-physicianclinicsusuallywith facilitiesfor minor
surgeries, too. They are part of the government-funded public health
system in India and are the most basic units of this system. Presently there
are 23,109 PHCs in India

5. FUNCTIONS OF PHC
•Provision of medical care

7. TYPES OF PHC
There are 2 types of PHC’s.They
are:-
Type A PHC: PHC with delivery load
of less than 20 deliveries in a
month,
Type B PHC: PHC with delivery load
of 20 or more deliveries in a month
