Jane likes all fruits, but her favourite fruit is Tomato.
Tomatoes taste great and give her body healthy
vitamins. Tomato is a fruit because it has seeds inside
just like apples or pears. Tomato is delicious and great
for in Jane heart and eyes.
3. 3
Jane loves Tomatoes so much that one day she asked her mother if they could
plant a Tomato tree. Jane and her mother lives in Trinidad and Tobago where
there is sun. Tomato hate the cold. Jane and her mother went to the flower
garden to buy the items they need to plant the Tomato tree. Jane will need a 6-
inch flower pot, a bag of potting soil, otherwise known as dirt, tomato seeds and
water. Jane was excited to get her hands dirty with the soil. First Jane and her
mother spread out an old towel.
4. 4
Jane and her mother fill their pots with the dirt.
Poke a small hole in the dirt, not too deep just
about a 1/4 of an inch. Jane use a ruler to check.
Now, Jane flower pot is ready. Drop one or two
seeds in the hole. Sprinkle a little dirt on top to
cover the seed and gently pat the dirt down. Next,
Jane and her mother pick a sunny place to put their
flower pot. Tomatoes love the sun! They need to sit
in the sun for 6 to 8 hours a day.

Now, find an old plate to put under your pot. This will keep water from
leaking out and the grown-ups happy. Then, go for it and water the dirt.
Pour on just enough so it is a little wet, or damp. Your tomato seed does
not want to go swimming! Water your tomato plant a few times a week,
when the dirt gets dry.

Finally, Jane tomatoes will grow from the little yellow flowers. They will
turn from green to orange to red!
