1. “Presenting with Power, Purpose,
and Presence”
North Carolina Dietetics Association Annual Meeting
April 18, 2010 Durham, NC
Sonja K. Stetzler will be speaking at the North Carolina Dietetics Association’s annual
meeting on April 18, 2010 in Durham, NC. As a highly demanded speaker for local and
state meetings in hospitality and healthcare industries, she will be speaking on
"Presenting with Power, Purpose, and Presence."
Her presentation will address the steps to construct speech content in order for it to stick
with the audience, develop a better dynamical delivery, and to overcome a challenging
audience.
Stetzler received her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Winthrop University and her
Master’s in Organizational Communication from Queens University of Charlotte. She
now serves as a faculty member at Queens in the undergraduate program teaching
public speaking courses.
Through successful presentations at Winthrop University; Inovonics (a technology
company) in Boulder, Colorado; and for the American Dietetic Association's annual
meeting in Atlanta, GA, Stetzler has earned the reputation for being a well-renowned
speaker.
Amanda Wright, a current student of Professor Stetzler, will be attending the
presentation this upcoming spring. She is excited for this opportunity to see her teacher
in action while learning more about being a dietitian. Wright stated, “For me, this
presentation will be informative because I would like to further my studies at Queens in
nutrition, as well as using the same public speaking skills she has taught me to enhance
my future career.”
Heather Blaken, the Executive Director of the North Carolina Dietetic Association, Inc.
will be coordinating this event with Stetzler and other dietetic speakers statewide. For
