- Welcome to my ePortfolio. I am Terri Garrett and very happy to be finishing my BA degree.
- I am moving forward in the health care field from taking care of animals to learning to take are of humans. I have enjoyed the rewards you get from taking care of helpless animals, and appreciation from the owner when their family member is healed. When you save a pets life, you really save that bond between the owner and the pet. The pet parent suffers the same way a patient would suffer from the loss of a human child. So, that need to save the life and bring harmony back is ever pressing. Understanding a person’s behaviors and the human mind will help me understand what the patient is going through in the hospital even if they are not able to speak.
- I am a well rounded person that is willing to try anything. I am a fast learner and happy to work my way up to learn the steps needed to become a better nurse.
- I am proud to show my education. I have worked hard to finish both my AA and BA degrees over the years. I have had to work full time while going to school full time to obtain my degrees. I did pass both National and California Technician exam in 2005.
- I have worked has a veterinary nurse for over 13 years and have been caring for animal senses I was 10 year old. I took many healthy care class during High School and work at Grand Pet Care Center in Santa Ana, CA to grain knowledge before I graduated High School. I have grained a great deal of knowledge and skills from working at Banfield Pet Hospital. While I changed directions to work for a Pet Insurances Company to learn more about becoming a sales rep, I have learned more about my self and how to commutated better. I have grained a lot of public speaking, commutation and working with insurances skills.
- One of may major weakness has always been spelling and grammar. I think it will always be because of my dyslexia, but because of my advanced degrees I have worked though this disability to overcome my weakness and learn to ask for help. My major strengths is perseverance, training other and will to learn. I have improved in my writing skills and understanding of psychology.

- This was a case study we had to answer questions on. Case studied details are: This is your first week with the client. You are apprehensive about meeting the client for the first time and don’t want to do anything that will hinder the counseling process. For this meeting, you are only meant to watch how your supervisor, Jim, handles the client and take notes of your observations about the interaction between Jim and Sabina.

- I took a class on Drug addictions and addictive behavior, during this class we had to visits an AA meeting. This is a the power point outline of this meeting I went to and my experiences I had during the meeting.
- This is part of the power point outline. This slide shows all the differenced AA meeting center you can call to find a meeting near your home. Also they are not easy to get on the phone or understand and when you go to the meeting they are not always at the locations they give you.

- In my diversity class we learned about the different culture and what is valued with each culture. I have highlighted the Latino culture to show how they standout from other culture.
- This is an other example of my assignment in the diversity class where we went over different culture. We had to do a review of the chapter and once of the chapter was on African Americans. I have pointed out the major points within the chapter.
- This assignment show how social norm are can hinder our creative thinking. For example, w hen a person needs to conform to society, they are trying to be accepted by others and to behave within their social norm. When you first start a job you need to conform to the dress code and their way of doing things. Once a person feels comfortable, they are able to express their individuality and break the social norm of procedures. However, when a person feels they need to conform to fit in or keep a job they become a robot and never express their real identity.
- When a person conforms, they are less likely to speak up when the situation calls for it. Conforming and not speaking up can make a company lose money and ruin another person’s life. Those who do not conform have an easier time standing up for themselves and their own beliefs. To be able to stand up for what you believe makes a person’s mental and physical health stronger and allows them to react to society easier. Even if you conform, you may lead an easy and happy life with nothing to show for it.
- In my applied psychology class we had to answer this question. David is a good Manager and give respect to is staff and applies farness where he can.
- I took an Culture class that talked about American Indians and Alaskan Native. I had to do a power point to talk about this culture and why I choose this culture. This is an outline of the power point.
