Cinematography
Every frame a painting narrate over film footage of existing films however they do choose the type of shots that they think goes with the
narration that they are picking. They talk about cinematography in film and show examples of what they are talking about for example when
they mentioned how you could connote comedy with doing a crane up effect with the camera they showed us an example with showing us
what they are talking about. I see shots that include zooming in on a character for a comedic effect. The reason why they are including various
shots because they are talking about how to show visual comedy in films.
Editing-
When they are editing the existing footage of films together the edit pacing is very quick showing us the different examples of what they are
talking about. If they are introducing an editor of a director they would have a text effect on the text so that it isn’t boring to watch and catches
the audience’s attention. They also include what the film is at the bottom of each film they use. In one of the videos I watched is them editing
together people in different films saying the same line and the editing pace was very quick. They also cut on the beat of the music if they use
music and the editing pace speeds up. The editing pattern` of each of the videos every frame of painting produces are different to each other
depending on what they are talking about in terms of film.
Mes-en-scene
The only text that every frame of painting uses is telling the audience what existing films they are using. They have white text at the bottom of
the screen where the existing film is playing. The text is usually in bold with when the film was made the reason why they keep it simple
when showing us what film they are showing us because they want us to focus on the narration and the film not the text. They also use text in
an interesting way especially if they are talking about one film for example baby driver they animate the text to be translucent over the main
character of the film then they have white text over music beats. The reason why they have done this is because it is very eye-catching and
informs the audience about what film they are talking about. They also use text to divide up what they are talking about for example if they
are talk about a different topic to do with a film they put a black background and white bold text on top of it so that the audience know they
are moving on to something else. They do the same exact thing if they are working with a company and are advertising for them the reason
why they keep it simple is because it is big and bold and it keeps the audiences attention.
Sound-
The main sound that we hear is the narration for the topic of film they are talking. The sound of someone’s voice giving us facts or making
commentary about film over the film sound that is playing. The reason why the narration is the only sound that is prominent is because it
wouldn’t make any sense if they just had the film sounds and then the commentary later. They add their own background music to their videos
when they are introducing what they will be talking about in the video and at the end when they have their end credits or are making an
announcement to their audience. They also fade down the films music when they are talking so that the narration is the dominant voice and
you can hear that they have faded down the sound of the film which connotes to the audience that what they are about to say is important.
Analysis of success
Every frame of painting has 1.3 million subscribers and has 52,773,888 video views all together on the channel. When looking through the
comments sections the comments are very positive to the videos that they make. The either give opinion on the video or agree with what was

every frame a painting also has interaction with his audience in the comments section either replying to the comments they have made or
leaving a thumbs up agreeing with what they have said. An example of every frame of painting replying to a comment is “Interestingly, he has
stated that ppl offer him comedy scripts for TV shows to direct, but he's always wanted to do straight drama and wishes ppl would offer that
instead. I imagine he may switch it up at some point.” Giving them more information about the topic of film that they have covered.

Cinematography-
This film uses a lot of close--up, wide shots and mid shots. The reason why they use a lot of close ups because they want to
connote the person’s emotions and facial expressions they want the audience to feel what they are feeling and feel empathy for
the character. It would make the audience think about what they are saying to people and the judgemental things they say to
people that are different to them. They use a wide shot to show her surroundings and where the judgemental shouts about her
weight are coming from. This short film by boldly shows us that every camera angle has a purpose.
Editing-
The editing rate is very slow. The reason why they do this is because they want the audience to think about what is happening
in each frame. The shot rate only increases when the main character is talking to other characters the reason for this is to show
a good flowing conversation. It does seem that each of the shots are very long but they cut within a shot for example when
people are sitting at a table there would be a close up of someone talking the a subtle mid shot they have cut to the reason they
do this is because they want the audience to see the reactions of the other people at the table.
Mes-en-scene –
The use of text on the screen is used a lot in this Buzz Feed video we first the Buzz Feed logo has a text transition where it has
a square moving on the corner of the page and then white bold text appears which stands out on the background of the text box
which is red. We see that they have use a comment that looks like it is from YouTube which connotes that they have used this
comment as the title of the film. We recognise that it is a YouTube comment because we see the icon of where someone would
put there picture and the thumbs up and down and the option to reply and it looks like Buzz feed is replying to this comment.
They also show us what the character is looking at on their phone on the screen we can clearly so the character looking at
comments on Instagram and attempting to search how to throw up. The reason why they have showed us what she is looking at
on here device than cutting to her phone because doing it this way shows the audience the facial expressions and the
performance of the character than taking it away by cutting to the phone.
The costume the characters are wearing are every day clothing and natural looking makeup the reason why they are wearing
every clothing so that the audience are able to relate to the what is going on in the video and also makes the audience feel like
it is realistic. The settings that are used is a work place, house, the street and the gym the reason why these locations where
used because the character was doing everyday activities and it also made it very realistic for the audience.
Sound-
They use a lot of diegetic sound for example when they character is working out in there house. We hear them inhaling and
exhaling and the atmosphere of the house which is silence with music that is playing in the background. When the character is
outside non diegetic sound is used for example when the character is jogging up beat music is being played it made it look like
it was the music the character was listening to. Looking at this Buzz Feed video it made me think about the relevance of sound
and how ambient sound is important for example a silent room isn’t silent it has its own buzz and atmosphere to it.
Analysis of success
The comments in the YouTube section are very positive about this video about weight and the issues bigger people go through.
A person in the comments said “I love the message. Exercise to be healthy, NOT to be thin.” It shows that the video had an
impact on the people that have watched the video other people said People need to stop fat shaming people if she wants to be
big she can.” Sometimes people can't help they're weight because they could have illnesses😢❤️” it shows that people are
thinking about the effect there words have on other people and are thinking about how people cannot control how they look so
people should not judge them. I would like to have this impact on my audience making people think about the impact they
have on other people and they should think about what the other person is going through
6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wbpUNGLLXE Cinematography-What shot types and why
The camera shots that are used close ups and mid shots. The close ups are used to show what they
are doing for example when they are making creative pancakes they have close of what they have
made and for example when they are pouring the pan cake mixture they have a close up of it. The
mid shot is of the two people in front of the camera talking.
Editing- average shot length
The cutting rate of the video is very quick they cut from the close ups from what they are doing to
them presenting the video and you can se the jumps of the mid shots of it getting closer. You can
see the pacing in the video. You can see that they are always cutting to different shots and this shows
a lot of variety in there shots and keeps there videos interesting. They use other media like stop
animation and the intro of their video.
Mes-en-scen e-on screen text, costume/ setting
In terms of costumes they are costumes they are wearing own merchandise. They are showing there
audience what they have made and are telling them you can but our shirts. They are also wearing
chief hats because they are in a kitchen which goes with the location that they are in. they are in the
right location to be cooking which is a kitchen and they show us the different ways they are using the
kitchen as well. They use there intro which is an animation of a female and a male and the pintrests
that they are doing a video on. They show us the suggestions their subscribers have left for what
they should make in there through social medias like twitter or people leave it in the comments
which shows audience interaction. This YouTube channel do not use on screen text unless it is
comments of audience.
Sound- Diegetic? Direct, Foley
The main consistent sound that we hear are the voices of the people in the video. They are the
prominent voices that we hear throughout the video. Through our the video we hear different sounds
but the only diegetic sound is the peoples voices. There are different non diegetic sounds that they
use they use different sounds throughout the video and sometimes they stop the background music so
that we can hear what they are saying . the sounds that they are using really goes with what they are
saying and compliments it as well. For example when they are trying to make there pancakes dopey
music comes on which connotes to the audience that they are going to fail at what they are doing
which makes it amusing to the audience.
Analysis of success
They have 3.8 million subscribers for the thread banger channel. There is a lot of audience
interaction in the comments wither talking about who done the challenge better. “In MY OPINION I
think: Round 1: Rob Won Round 2: Rob Won Round 3: Corinne Won” to people complimenting
the you tubers and loving the dynamic between them two. “I love watching them laugh as a couple
together in these types of videos ❤️” we see that the you tubers are able to bounce off each other
which adds humour and beings out a good good vibe for the audience to watch. Looking at this
channel, it has shown me that people respond to you tubers that have a personality where they can
have banter with each other and can make the audience laugh with what they are doing. The audience
comments for this video are majority really positive.
