screens, constantly crop up in our daily conversations, and dominate the news and media. But wait,

journalists. Scarce are women confidently voicing their political opinions on reputable news
channels. Scarce are truly powerful female journalists. In reality, this problem goes unnoticed by

I hope you are doing well. As one of the members of the youth, I would like to address a concern of
mine involving the youth group. Our church's mission statement is experience, equip, and severe. As
a whole, I feel that the youth group is lacking in the area of service. Not only is community service
important to our church, I also believe it is crucial to have our youth involved in community
outreach to promote emotional and spiritual growth. I believe our youth should participate in more
community outreach because it will counter selfish tendencies, allow the youth to feel helpful, and

Let's face the fact, in general, the youth today are very selfish and narcissistic. It's all about having

I chose assessment #10: Authenticity Scale (Biswas–Diener, 2010, p. 122) for my assessment.
Between this current quarter and the last, I pushed myself beyond limits on another section of the
Appalachian Trail. On the morning of day number 3 out of 6, I snapped a selfie of myself as I
crested a ridge line on a bald (treeless ridge line with unlimited views). The photo was unique and
looked manipulated with a filter due to the glare from the sunrise burning through thin patches of
fog spilling over the ridge as if the mountain was an airfoil. That photo is now my Facebook profile
picture and titled, "Nothing artificial." I have always pushed myself to be true and authentic in all I
do. That does not mean being perfect, it means being honest with myself.
Unfortunately, this strength of authenticity (i.e., the VIA strength of honesty is further defined as
being authentic with integrity) facilitates a mindset that does not tolerate others who are not. One of
my other strengths (as tested in a spiritual gifts test) is discernment. I can usually tell when someone

This was relevant to my paper in answering the question of why there are certain expectations of

Looking back, I remember this moment as if it were yesterday. It seemed as if all my senses were
heightened. I can still remember the smell of the fresh cut grass, the freshly chalked lines, the feel of
the sun beating down on my exposed skin and the sounds of all the younger kids playing in the back
ground. More importantly though, I remember the way I felt when I first saw my teammates. I felt a
great sense of happiness. Additionally, I felt warm inside, a sense of excitement, loved, needed, and
