With the continuous Positive growth for the of our economy (GDP growth and one of the fastest
growing consumer spenders) it will become a factor in AMC's increase in sales because Filipinos
will become less price sensitive in buying their milk products they are willing to spend more on
perceived benefits and the level of being price conscious are slowly becoming relaxed and they are
more willingly to spend in addition Alaska's products are affordable. The rise of the "Lifestyle on
the go and healthy consumption" trend among Filipino consumers also give rise to Alaska's milk
products with their products having ready to drink properties and also milk itself naturally has
healthy benefits to the body of an individual. The continuing effects of El Niño in the country have
positive and negative effects for Alaska milks products. The positive effect is an expected increase
in their canned evaporated milk products which is used by Halo–Halo makers in our country
especially during hot season. The negative side of this phenomenon is we all know whenever the
temperature is high milk products are easily to be spoiled. The regulation of the Government to Junk
food drinks (soft drinks and artificial juices) gives rise to the milk product as a healthy alternative to
the said regulated drinks. The Government's regulation on breast milk feedings can be a threat to

vitamin D and B12 but you can still get these nutrients in other food choices, such as spinach,
broccoli and soy products. Avoid non food products that may contain milk – Milk ingredients can
also be found in medicines, facial cosmetics and other beauty products. Always check the labels
before using any of these items. Avoiding Dairy Avoiding dairy is not as easy as stopping milk
consumption. There are numerous foods that contain milk, while some are processed using the same
machines for milk products. It is important to read all product labels before buying and consuming
any item. Some ingredients in packaged products may tend to change over time without warning

Dutch lady has reduce their supply but increase the price at the same time as they confirmed that the
demand will kept on increasing. However when the supplier of product is limited and the price
increasing instead it will lead to a greater problem which is black market issues which is illegal.
They will try to invade the market to ease the supply to consumer with their term of price. In the
other situation if Dutch Lady reduce the supply just to bring up the demand it must has come to
market failure following the underproduction theory that will end up affects the price equilibrium.
Great example to this problem is when government invade the business. Government role to protect
the producers and supplier in underproduction and at the same time also protecting the poor

government will proposes price floor for Dutch Lady company which they must set the minimum

Nestle Case Study
Henri Nestlé, a Swiss confectioner, became the founding father of Nestlé and one of the major
creators of condensed milk. Nestlé's origins date back to the 1860s when separate Swiss companies
had been founded that later shaped the Nestlé company. Inside the succeeding years, the two
competing establishments aggressively improved their organizations all through Europe and the US.
In 1866, Charles and George Page, brothers from Lee County, Illinois, America, set up the Anglo–
Swiss Condensed Milk employer in Cham, Switzerland. Their first British operation opened in
Chippenham, Wiltshire, in 1873. In Vevey, Switzerland, Henri Nestlé advanced his milk–based baby
formula and soon began advertising it in 1867. The subsequent 12 months noticed Daniel Peter, a
Swiss chocolatier start seven years of labour perfecting his invention, the milk chocolate production
procedure which shaped Nestlé's chocolate making. Nestlé turned into the critical co–operation that
Peter needed to figure out a way of removing all of the water from the milk added to the chocolate
and thus stopping the product from developing mold. Henri Nestlé retired in 1875 but the
corporation, beneath new ownership, continued to succeed. In 1877, Anglo–Swiss added milk–based
ingredients to their products; within the following year, the Nestlé company brought condensed milk
to their portfolio, which made the two companies direct and fierce competitors. In 1879, Nestle

Essay on Compare and Contrast Breast Feeding vs Bottle...
A plethora of questions and concerns arise upon confirmation of pregnancy; however, the decision
on whether to breastfeed or formula feed an infant seems to be one of the more crucial decisions.
Moms new to nursing a baby need all the information that they can get in order to help choose
which method of feeding is more suitable, because every mother wants what is best for their child.
Unlike formula feeding, the benefits of breastfeeding are substantial for both mother and baby.
Moreover, choosing to breastfeed will lead to brighter, happier, and healthier lives. Infant nutrition is
vital for growth and development. According to a Web page posted by KidsHealth, "Breast milk

In fact, it's free. Components such as nursing pads, nursing bras, and breast pumps are not
necessities and are completely optional. Therefore, no materials are required. Moms who choose not
to obtain these particular items will save hundreds, (even thousands) of dollars each year.
Nevertheless, formula feeding is highway robbery. Formula feeding requires materials such as
bottles, nipples, and sterilizing bags which are fundamental in order to ensure that such materials are
aseptic for the baby. KidsHealth voices that, "During the first year of life, the cost of basic formula
can run about $1,500.00," depending on the brand of formula (KidsHealth). Who wouldn't mind
having an extra $1,500.00 in their bank account? If that wasn't enough, the United States
Department of Agriculture states that "A minimum of $3.6 billion would be saved if breastfeeding
were increased from current levels (64 percent in–hospital, 29 percent at 6 months) to those
recommended by the U.S. Surgeon General (75 and 50 percent)" (USDA). Aware that breastfed
infants are collecting antibodies and other healthy nutrients so they are less likely to become sick,
formula fed infants are at jeopardy for developing illnesses. Frequent cases of illnesses can lead to
recurring doctor visits. Moreover, [recurring doctor visits can lead to an abundance of co–pays and
prescriptions] (KidsHealth). As a result, moms pay more when they formula feed. Electing to
breastfeed is convenient.

Research on Food Allergies Essay
Research on Food Allergies
True food allergies are not as common as many people believe and do in fact only affect about 2%
of children. However, they are more common in younger children (affecting about 5–8% of younger
children). Fortunately, most younger children will outgrow these food allergies by the time that they
are three years old.
Symptoms of a food allergies can often include wheezing and difficulty in breathing, along with
itchy skin rashes, including hives, vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain and swelling around
the mouth and in the throat (common with nut allergies). These symptoms usually develop fairly

If anyone notices that a child develops symptoms after being exposed to certain foods, then the child
should avoid such foods. The most common foods that can cause allergies include: peanuts, tree nuts
(walnuts, pecans, etc.), fish, shellfish, eggs (especially egg whites), milk, soy, and wheat. Keeping a
diary for a few weeks and recording what foods a child has been eating, especially new foods, and
when they develop symptoms may help figure out what they are allergic to. This is often what
professionals encourage families to do to get to the true cause of what is making them so ill.
Once it has been determined what a child is allergic to, it is important to learn to read food labels
because the food a child is allergic to may be an ingredient of many other foods. They should also
avoid eating foods that may have been prepared using equipment that was also used to prepare the
types of food that the child is allergic to.
When trying to determine what a child is allergic to, parents often incorrectly assume that if they
have eaten a food before and not had problems, then they are probably not allergic to that food.
Parents usually only suspect new foods as being able to cause a food allergy. However, it is
important to keep in mind that it takes time for the immune system to build up a reaction against
something that the body is

Spain by its original occupants, the Moorish. This dish, along with much other cultural heritage

Horseradish Research Paper
How did the production of Horseradish and Evaporated milk affected the agricultural history of
Illinois? The production of Horseradish and Evaporated milk affected the agricultural history of
Illinois. When I was growing up I was always curious of what smelled so strongly in the sauce
people dipped their shrimp in, I had come to find out that it was horseradish. I became interested
when I had found out it had a big part in the local towns. Collinsville, Illinois, to be exact, is the top
producer of horseradish. Horseradish is a European plant of the cabbage family. Horseradish has
been know of as far back as 1500 B.C. by the Egyptians. It is normally planted before May and
harvested by December. Today, Illinois leads the United States in ... Show more content on

"Whether it is called raifort in France or wasabi in Japan, it is perhaps best known in Collinsville,
"the horseradish capital of the world."" Horseradish has a very hot taste and a hot smell due to the
highly volatile oils in it. When horseradish is white that means that it is fresh. When the horseradish
is fresh, it is at it's hottest flavor. As it ages it becomes darker in color. The root of horseradish is
ground up to make the condiment style of horseradish, which then can be used for different things.
Jewish Passover Ceremonies depend on horseradish for a big part of the ceremony. Horseradish has
a large variety of health benefits but it is high in sodium and the sugar in it causes there to be
calories. The Brassicaceae family is the home of horseradish. Horseradish was used for a lot of
medical reasons to the Ancient Greeks. As well as the Egyptians, Greeks have been using
horseradish since 1500 B.C. Greeks used horseradish as a back rub and an aphrodisiac. During the
middle ages in Europe horseradish was used to help treat coughs, food poisoning, scurvy,
tuberculosis, worms, and colic. To the Hebrew slaves, horseradish symbolized the bitterness of

The Background Of The Nestle Company
The Background of the Organisation
The Nestlé history begins back to 1886, when he first man, a European condensed milk factory was
opened in Cham, Switzerland, by the Anglo–Swiss Condensed Milk Company. In 1867, the founder
Henri Nestlé, a German pharmacist, established new product of cow's milk, wheat flour and sugar in
Vevey, Switzerland. "Henri Nestlé, himself an immigrant from Germany, was instrumental in
turning his Company towards international expansion from beginning. We owe more than our name,
our logo and our first infant–food product to our founder. Henri Nestlé embodied many of the key
attitudes and values that form part and parcel of our corporate culture: pragmatism, flexibility, the

In 1977, it acquired Alcon Laboratories, manufacturer of pharmaceutical and ophthalmic products.
Nestlé was the first company to develop with obeying World Health Organization Code and apply
throughout the whole operating systems. In 1986, another new product was launched, Nespresso.
This product was begun with a simple idea: anyone was able to create a perfect espresso coffee.
In 1988, an Italian brand Buitoni became part of Nestlé's portfolio. In the same year, there was a
boycott of a group of organization in United Kingdom against Nestlé. Later, as a result of our
inclusion in the responsible investment index FTSE4Good in 2011, the United Reformed Churches
ended their support for this boycott. By this time, a lot of other important stakeholders had already
ended their support for it, including the General Synod of the Church of England, the Royal College
of Midwives, and the Methodist Ethical Investment Committee.
In 1993, Nestlé opened up the new markets in Central and Western Europe, as well as China. The
company partnered with the Ralston Purina Company, to create a new pet food company, Nestlé
Purina PetCare Company. In 2002, there were two acquisition: the ice– cream business with

The Health Benefits Of Raw Milk
Raw milk is not sold in every state, and there have been reports that the FDA has closed down many
raw milk producers nationwide. The reason behind this, I don't know, but it looks as if they don't
want the health benefits to get out to the public. The less work and more natural a product is, the
healthier it is. In my opinion, drinking raw milk has been done for hundreds, if not thousands, of
years, and in many locations around the world, people still drink raw milk. If it was really as bad for
you as the FDA claims, humans would have never continued to drunk raw milk. Jersey and
Guernsey milk comes from cows bred on the Isle of Guernsey and the Isle of Jersey, which are
located off the the British mainland. The milk Guernsey cows produce is high in fat, and is also
loaded with beta–carotene and protein. Jersey cows produce milk that's high in butterfat, which is
why it is often used in cheese–making. Both breeds produce richer and higher fat. Lactose–free milk
is for the many people around the world who suffer from lactose intolerance, but how can milk that
contains lactose really be lactose free? Lactose–free milk simply contains lactase, a natural enzyme
that helps break down lactose. Some people who take a lot of the lactase enzyme could experience
bloating and diarrhea after they have stopped consuming the enzyme. This is from the body trying to
break down the lactose without help. Skim milk is one of the most–consumed milk products in the
USA. The media would

Essay On Little Family
When analyzing the change in the Little family's lifestyle using Stratums C –– before the
introduction of the railroad–– and B –– after the introduction of the railroad –– evidence of this
transformation exists through the increase of manufactured food products. For instance, in Stratum
B, the container in the highest quantity, as indicated in the above summary, is cans of condensed
milk that, according to the additional notes, were canned in a factory. This contrasts with Stratum C
in which the most prevalent item is empty canning jars (an item that decreases to just nine units in
Stratum B) so as to demonstrate changes to the Little family's subsistence strategy through the
presence of the railroad by indicating their ability to rely on industrialization rather than individual
agency to produce food. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be seen specifically, in the rise of luxury goods between list C and B such as, the number of
pomade jars (hair product) present which expands from one unit to seven units; also, in the increase
in alcohols like beer which advances from just two units to eighteen. Furthermore, this tendency
towards factory–made versus human–made objects can also be seen through the multiplied accounts
of medicine on each list. For instance, in Stratum C, there is only four articles of medicine and in
Stratum B this number grows to eighteen. It is through these items that a progression in medicine
available also becomes apparent. Notably, before the railway, the Little Family had generic
medicines such as "head–ache powder" however, after the introduction of the railway, the family has
branded medicines like Aspirin. This is significant as it exhibits not just a change in the products
being incorporated into the family's living style, but also potentially in the standard of quality of life
becoming obtainable through these luxury

Taking a Look at Phosphorus
Phosphorus Many don't know about all the minerals our body needs to function on a day–to–day
basis. One of which is phosphorus. Phosphorus works with the B vitamins and also helps the kidney,
contraction of muscles, keeping a normal heartbeat and nerve signaling to the brain. (Phosphorus in
Diet, 2014) Phosphorus is a mineral that our bodies use to help our cells and tissues grow and repair.
It provides structure and strength which is why 85% of phosphorus is found in our bones.
Phosphorus is also helpful with energy production and regulates the pH in our blood. It regulates pH
by neutralizing excess acids found in our blood. The hemoglobin (oxygen–carrying protein in blood)
in our bodies needs phosphorus as a part of its structure to function. I chose this nutrient because I
wanted to do something not many know about. This mineral is one that many things in our bodies
use but we don't realize it. It is very important for our bodies to function. To begin, phosphorus is a
nutrient that many people don't even realize is in foods they eat. The intake amount ranges greatly
depending on what age you are. The recommendations do not vary depending on gender.
Recommendations are (Phosphorus in Diet, 2014): 7 to 12 months: 275 mg/day 1 to 3 years:
460mg/day 4 to 8 years: 500mg/day 9 to 18 years: 1,250mg/day Adults: 700mg/day Throughout the
life cycle, the intake of phosphorus changes as our bodies change. As seen from the list of
recommendations, there is a great increase as

Cooling it allowed the flan to solidify, so it would not melt. I took the flan out of the mold by

golden brown and the bottom a cream color. I placed it on glass tray, so it would look presentable.
The sugar that I caramelized was on top, and it looked like a glaze. I took the fruit out of the fridge
and carefully cut the tops off the strawberries because I did not need those. I placed the topless
strawberries in a bowl and washed them in the sink and made sure I washed them carefully. I set
them on a paper towel on a plate and repeated the process for the blueberries. After I took the

For example, buttermilk results from the souring of low–fat milk by lactic acid. The flavor is due to
substances such as diacetyl and acetaldehyde, which are produced by species of Streptococcus,
Leuconostoc, and Lactobacillus as they grow. A fermented milk product with a pudding like
consistency is yogurt. Two bacteria, Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus, are
essential to its production. After the milk has been heated to achieve evaporation, the bacteria are
added, and the condensed milk is set aside at a warm temperature to produce the yogurt. Sour cream
is produced in a similar way, using cream as a starter material. Soft cheeses, such as Camembert, do
not spoil rapidly. Camembert cheese is a product of the growth of the fungus Penicillium
camemberti. Hard cheeses have less water and are ripened with bacteria or fungi. Swiss cheese is
ripened by various bacteria, including species of Propionibacterium, which produces gas holes in the

Nestle Case Study
Nestlé is a large international (191 countries worldwide) food and beverage company that is
dedicated to shaping future generations into healthier people and improving the world as a whole.
The company now known as Nestlé was founded in Switzerland as a result of the Anglo–Swiss
Condensed Milk Company, founded in 1866, merging with Henri Nestlé's company based on the
infant food that he had developed, in 1905, after the two companies were rivals in the baby formula
and condensed milk industry. After the merger in 1905 Nestlé was able to expand globally, with
sales in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Australia. Decreased availability of resources and goods in
Europe during the outbreak of the First World War lead to Nestlé acquiring factories in the United
States and Australia, furthering the company's international development. In addition, the war was
beneficial for Nestlé as condensed milk is non–perishable and therefore convenient to supply
emergency rations; this caused a strong demand for the product during wartime. Nestlé, like many
other companies, was impacted greatly by the depression era, but used this time as an opportunity to
organize company operations and invent new products such as Nescafé. The outbreak of the Second
World War brought fear of Nazi invasion in Switzerland and inspired Nestlé to open a second
headquarters in the United States. Post–war prosperity was beneficial for the company, as it made it
easier for many of their newer products such as Nestea

Profitability does not require economies of scale in this industry, since this is a restaurant type;

undifferentiated because we can get raw materials or ingredients anywhere. For the capital, any food

Perceived Flavor
For our psychology project, we chose to study the effect of color on perceived flavor. Our
hypothesis stated that we would see a noticeable amount of people to say that the perceived flavor of
our experimental food would be different for each differently colored piece of jello. Similar to that,
we predicted that the perceived taste would be one commonly associated with color.Examples:
yellow is banana, blue is blueberry and red is cherry.
We came across the idea by an article on online. The article talked about how each of the different
colored "loops" of Froot Loops were actually the same flavor. Researching more into the relation
between color and taste, we read about a study published in Fast Food Nation that described a
different approach ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within our experiment, we did have some possible errors. The Jellos did not have consistent texture
across all of them, due to the way they were made. Along with that, though they had the same
general taste, the level of sweetness varied slightly as well, also due to the way they were made. In
order to have more conclusive results, if we were to do the experiment again, we would most likely
use a generic fruit flavor instead of sweetened condensed milk and also try to make sure we kept the
way we made the Jello consistent. We think one of the reasons our experiment was inconclusive,
even though there are numerous cases where we've seen color affect flavoring, is because we chose
a flavor without any fruit basis. Froot Loop flavoring is "a mixed fruit flavoring medley" whereas
ours was just sweet and to some, easily identifiable as sweetened condensed

Unlike formula feeding, the benefits of breastfeeding are substantial for both mother and baby. Moreover, choosing to breastfeed will lead to brighter, happier, and healthier lives. Formula feeding requires materials such as bottles, nipples, and sterilizing bags which are fundamental in order to ensure that such materials are aseptic for the baby. KidsHealth voices that, "During the first year of life, the cost of basic formula can run about $1,500.00," depending on the brand of formula (KidsHealth). Even though Nestlé puts the statement "not to be used as a breast milk substitute" on Bear Brand coffee creamer in three languages, English, Lao and Thai, since Loas is a multilingual country with more than 45 languages spoken, parents who cannot read those three languages may misperceive and misuse Bear Brand coffee creamer as infant food by the logo of the product. Nestle Case Study Nestlé is a large international (191 countries worldwide) food and beverage company that is dedicated to shaping future generations into healthier people and improving the world as a whole. The company now known as Nestlé was founded in Switzerland as a result of the Anglo–Swiss Condensed Milk Company, founded in 1866, merging with Henri Nestlé's company based on the infant food that he had developed, in 1905, after the two companies were rivals in the baby formula and condensed milk industry. After the merger in 1905 Nestlé was able to expand globally, with sales in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Australia. Decreased availability of resources and goods in Europe during the outbreak of the First World War lead to Nestlé acquiring factories in the United States and Australia, furthering the company's international development. In addition, the war was beneficial for Nestlé as condensed milk is non–perishable and therefore convenient to supply emergency rations; this caused a strong demand for the product during wartime. Nestlé, like many other companies, was impacted greatly by the depression era, but used this time as an opportunity to organize company operations and invent new products such as Nescafé. The outbreak of the Second World War brought fear of Nazi invasion in Switzerland and inspired Nestlé to open a second headquarters in the United States. Post–war prosperity was beneficial for the company, as it made it easier for many of their newer products such as Nestea ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Porter's Five Forces: Industry Analysis: Bakers Depot ' Porter's Five Forces: Industry Analysis Threat of new entrants In our chosen industry, which is the food industry, it is not shocking for new entrants to try to be at par or beat the existing business. Profitability does not require economies of scale in this industry, since this is a restaurant type; production of food is somehow made to order and not made in large amount. Products are definitely undifferentiated because we can get raw materials or ingredients anywhere. For the capital, any food business really do shell out a huge amount of money for the location, equipments, the food itself since it is perishable you have to buy more frequent and be cautious of its expiration, etc. The threat of new entrants to the industry to compete is high. ... • 150. Perceived Flavor For our psychology project, we chose to study the effect of color on perceived flavor. Our hypothesis stated that we would see a noticeable amount of people to say that the perceived flavor of our experimental food would be different for each differently colored piece of jello. Similar to that, we predicted that the perceived taste would be one commonly associated with color.Examples: yellow is banana, blue is blueberry and red is cherry. We came across the idea by an article on online. The article talked about how each of the different colored "loops" of Froot Loops were actually the same flavor. Researching more into the relation between color and taste, we read about a study published in Fast Food Nation that described a different approach ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Within our experiment, we did have some possible errors. The Jellos did not have consistent texture across all of them, due to the way they were made. Along with that, though they had the same general taste, the level of sweetness varied slightly as well, also due to the way they were made. In order to have more conclusive results, if we were to do the experiment again, we would most likely use a generic fruit flavor instead of sweetened condensed milk and also try to make sure we kept the way we made the Jello consistent. We think one of the reasons our experiment was inconclusive, even though there are numerous cases where we've seen color affect flavoring, is because we chose a flavor without any fruit basis. Froot Loop flavoring is "a mixed fruit flavoring medley" whereas ours was just sweet and to some, easily identifiable as sweetened condensed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
