What's wrong with the world today? That we can't pray at a football game, but cussing the ref. is okay?"(Goodson) This country was founded by
people who were tired of the way their government was telling them how to worship God. And that is exactly what is happening now. Our
government doesn't want the atheists to get offended so they hurt the majority of the people by going against our own God and telling us not to
pray for the safety of some people. The Bible tells us to pray without cease. And why should we stop? The prayer is even asking for the safety of the
atheists. We don't say the prayer, "Please God keep all the Christians safe from injury." We pray for the safety of EVERYBODY.
If the government would be a little less involved in our religious beliefs or non–beliefs, we might have a balanced budget or less of a debt. The
constitution grants us the right to freedom of religion. We're not asking that atheists be converted Christians. If they don't want to participate, they can
go to the bathroom or put on some headphones. As an ex–atheist and recently converted Christian, a prayer never offended me. They shouldn't be
offended either.

This section will be a review of the current conversation taking place on the topic of prostitution pre and post Christian church in the Roman Empire.
While there are several scholars discussing pre Christian church like Rebecca Flemming and Robert Knapp and a few like Thomas A.J. McGinn, Vern
L. Bullough, and James A. Brundage who are discussing post Christian church none are documenting the evolution in perception, law, and sexuality
concerning the prostitutes at the time of the transition from paganism to Christianity. It is important to note on the specific conversation about the
church that there are two different views of the influence of the Christian Church that exist. One in which the people wander aimlessly without it and
another where it comes in as a destructive and ugly dictator to control the society. This is where Rodoifo Lanciani, Vern L. Bullough, and Thomas A.J.
McGinn argue against Peter Brown. In Lanciani's book Pagan and Christian Rome, he analyzes the changeover from paganism to Christianity and how

Franklin Delano Roosevelt did not want a conflict in the pacific as the United States was not prepared for war. For instance, the oil embargo that
was organized between the British, the Dutch, and the United States was about 90% of Japan's imported oil. [3] This upset Japan because without
oil or fuel their military and war efforts would come to a complete stop. Beginning of the year in 1941, FDR decided that the Pacific Fleet would
move to Hawaii from San Diego in the hopes of discouraging the invasion of the Japanese. Negotiations between Washington and Tokyo had been
going on for several months without a resolution. On July 2, 1941, the Imperial High Command was tired of negotiations with the United States and
needed to proceed with their development within Asia even with the embargo in place and meaning it would be at a high risk of war with the US. [4]

The Camino Day 1: We left the College on Saturday, the 6th of May. The flight departed at 11:45 and we didn't arrive at Biarritz until 2:50. Then
we got a bus from the airport to St Jean Pied de Port, a small village at the base of the Pyrenees Mountains. When we got to St Jean, I was taken
aback by the town. It was a mixture of old streets and building from centuries ago and modern roads and shops. We had a mass in the local parish
before we got to explore the town. It was late by then so most of the shops were closed, but you still got a feel for the town as we strolled down the

took over Compostela, and "by divine retribution, some of them were afflicted by looseness of the bowels, and shot whatever they had in their bellies
out through their back passages. Others lost the sight of their eyes and wandered blindly about the church and the city." This account demonstrates
what could happen if one did not show proper respect towards St. James. This served as a warning to whoever had evil intents towards the cathedral.
Later in the story, Al–Mansur claims that if St. James restores him to his "earlier state of health" then he would renounce "Muhammad and will not
come again to the land of great St. James bent on taking booty." The story has evolved into a conversion story. This showcases the power of Roman
Catholic saints against non–believers, and how saintly actions can so powerfully affect individuals. Like the previous stories about the miracles of St.

In "Letters of a Civil War Nurse", written in 1863, Cornelia Hancock's account of the Civil War gives readers an account of the suffering and hardship
of soldiers through the point of view of an Union nurse. This document written by Cornelia Hancock is an account as a nurse who went through the
Battle of Gettysburg and the after effects. Through a series of letters written to her loved ones, Cornelia wrote what nurses went through during the
times of war. At the time women were expected to be good wives; with Cornelia Hancock's effort she was able to help soldiers and contribute to the
idea that women are capable of much more than being good wives; women can be apart of war. With her background as a Quaker and her family
history, Cornelia Hancock was able to contribute greatly to the war effort even though she was originally denied to becoming an union nurse.
Cornelia was born on February 8, 1840 outside of Salem, New Jersey. Her ancestors were greatly involved in politics and religious activities. They
were Quakers and sided with the Union, which added to the reason that she joined the Union Army as a nurse. This allowed her to become easily

Ray, In order to prevent African Americans from voting, white's enacted a variety of different measures used for preventing black voting. Of these
measures three big ones were the use of violence, all white–primary elections, and the grandfather clause. For whites violence was a means in which

Paulo Coelho is a famous author that has written many popular works in these past few decades. He is most notably known for The Alchemist, which
was written in 1988. The Alchemist was "one of the greatest best–sellers of all times" (Kaaki). During his lifetime, Coelho went through many
obstacles; the most notable event was getting an electrical shock when he was in a mental institution and getting placed into prison. He was able to

In Geoffrey Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales, various people band together to go on a pilgrimage from England to Canterbury. Their aim is to see a
shrine of St Thomas Beckett, the revered Archbishop of Canterbury who had reportedly healed others when they were ill. The pilgrims have a variety
of occupations and are divided fairly evenly amongst the three estates (clergy, nobility, and commoners). The pilgrims who are members of the clergy

However, he works hard, both for God and for his community, and he lives happily. The Plowman is also one of the most pious pilgrims. According
to Chaucer, "God loved he best with al his hoole herte" (GP 533). He also gives money to the church, demonstrating both his religiousness and his
charitability, which is especially notable given his own poverty. In addition to the Plowman's religiousness, he lives a simple life, evidenced by his
wearing of a tabard (a simple sleeveless shirt worn by the lower class) and the fact that he rides on a mare. Similarly to the Knight and the Squire, the
Plowman is the ideal member of his estate, the peasantry.
The Friar, Prioress, Monk, and Pardonner are the members of the clergy (the first estate) on the pilgrimage. The most corrupt of these is the Friar. He
has the power to give confession, and he gives it easily, because those who have repented are more likely to give him donations. The Friar wanders
around and becomes wealthy because of these donations. Chaucer also says that the Friar knows all of the barmaids in town, implying that he likely
goes out drinking frequently, a habit that is not Christian–like. The Prioress also doesn't exemplify an ideal religious leader. While at first, the Prioress
might appear kindhearted and moral, Chaucer adds in little descriptions to give the reader an odd impression of her. She's so concerned with
attempting to be upper class, demonstrated by her knowledge

Guns are a controversial topic in America right now, and there are many different opinions about them. We see political parties argue about them all
the time and we see that they have affected people in good and bad ways.
Guns are somewhat exalted in America because of our "right to bear arms". The Second
Amendment is definitely one of the most well–known rights, but how useful is it to us today?
Does this amendment still apply to the everyday life of an American citizen, and does help us at all? The Second Amendment says "A well

amendment for a very specific reason; we wrote it in case a tyranny rose up in our government and we needed to rebel. During the time that this
amendment was brewing the
British government tried to confiscate the colonist's guns and weapons. This caused the founding fathers to create this amendment when they wrote the
Constitution. They knew that a tyranny was a possibility in the new country so they took action by giving rights to protect themselves. Over the course
of time the intentions of guns have changed and lately we haven't had to worry about tyrants. Guns are most commonly used for protection and hunting
in the
U.S. by citizens. As of 2013, 60% of gun owners said they have a gun for protection and 36% use it for hunting. Yet it seems that all the amount of
protection we have doesn't work with all the shootings and gun violence we have.

front of his fellow travelers but the attempt fails miserably. When he interrupts the Wife of Bath's prologue to say, "I'm getting married soon, tell
me what to do to find a good wife," he further alienates himself from the group instead of redeeming himself as a funny person. His interruption
comes off more as a need for others to see him as desirable by a female. Another odd quality of his character is his confession of his own sinfulness.
The Pardoner commits this grievous rhetorical fault in trying to gain their pride. The other characters don't need to announce, "These are my sins,"
because we find out through their story what that character is like. However, the Pardoner has to announce his sins in hope of finding a connection

In Gordan McConville's chapter "Pilgrimage and 'Place': an Old Testament View, he reinterprets the meaning of pilgrimage in relation to the Old
Testament. His consensus is the Christian theology views the history of holy sites and its geography as a restriction in a journey toward God.

Have you experienced holding on to a dream, a dream that serves as your passageway to achieving your Personal Legend?
Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist focused on the concatenation of a boy's journey in life that began as an unfinished dream which led shepherd Santiago,
the boy, to his own Personal Legend. However in the first part of the story, it somehow did not correlate with thenovel's title. For it was only focused
on the boys travel together with his flock of sheep. But then on the latter part of the novel, the essence of the title was revealed, for it introduced an
important character in the novel who is the Alchemist.
Aside from the title the author also used several instruments to abdicate the boy's personal legend. And the most important instrument that he used
is the boy's dream. The boy's dream inside an abandoned church where there was an enormous sycamore that grew where the sacristy was. The
boy's revelation of his dream to the interpreter goes like this: "I had the same dream twice; I was in the field with my sheep, when a child appeared
and began to play with the animals. I don't like people to do that, because the sheep are afraid of strangers. But children always seem to be able to play

Literature Review On Tourism
This chapter presents the research findings and its relationship with the literature review topics relevant to answer the research question. The findings
show that CDS involves ET by having explored the activities and experiences included in the four realms of the experience model. This section will
also discuss the motivations and interests of doing CDS as well as the relationship between secular and spiritual visitors and their use of social media.
5.2 Discussion
This research reveals that Pine and Gilmore (1999) four realms of the experience provides relevant measurement for the study of tourist experiences, in
this case based on the route of CDS.It has been found that tradition and memory are significant aspects for CDS visitors. Participant 3 emphasized his
interest on Spanish culture and visiting places with ancient traditions which coincide with Murray and Graham (1997), who suggested that route tourism
relates to cultural routes inspiring memory and tradition. (Murray, 2014). Participant's opinions are in line with Zhang et al., (2007), Frey (2004) and
Percy (1998), regarding the pilgrimage purposes in search of socialising, fulfilment, sport and faith and Kavoura (2012) regarding visitors' interests in
history and architecture as Facebook posts suggested about relevant architecture along the route.
The literature suggested that must be a differentiation between the secular and spiritual visitors of pilgrimages, results are in line with Alvarez and
Garcia (1999)
