debate on how far should we go to protect freedom of speech. Some say that this freedom is

"No Platforming". Should speakers be allowed a platform no matter what their views are? Or should

the Advancement of Colored People ceremonially buried the word "nigger." However, the word
"nigger" remains very much alive in today's society. In the same article the author also mentioned,
President Barack Obama interview on June 2015, the president said, "Racism remains a major
problem whether or not "nigger" is used in public." Therefore, people should stop using cruel racial
words and should create a positive environment for the coming generation. African Americans are
the main victims' of racial discrimination. Thus, racial discrimination is characterized by various
actions towards African Americans. One of the ways is using racial words. In the video show
between Bill Maher a comedian and Michael Eric Dyson a Professor of Sociology at George Town
University. During the discussion of Maher, making a statement about a book, Dyson wrote with the
"N" word comment. Dyson made it clear to Maher should not have to use the "N" word, and he said
the reason denied racism by calling Donald Trump out. If Maher can make us fight, you are trained
to think and get us laugh. Maher apologized to Dyson for using the "N" word and the black
community. Then Kathy Griffin issue of the Donald Trump decapitated head came up. Bill Maher
made it clear that the similarity was greatly wrong. Griffin made a mistake, and she should not go
away. Dyson said, to him much is given, much is requested. Maher told Dyson during the show that
he is willing to speed on political capital and you are the people refusing the sense of conflict.

First of all, thank you again for supporting this year's Shaking the Foundations: West Coast
Progressive Lawyering Conference. Over 250 register for Shaking the Foundations, which we held
on October 17, 2015. The keynote was the first event of the day. We selected Saru Jayaraman as the
keynote speaker. She is the Co–Founder and Co–Director of the Restaurant Opportunities Centers
United (ROC–United) and Director of the Food Labor Research Center at University of California,
Berkeley. After 9/11, together with displaced World Trade Center workers, she co–founded ROC,
which now has 14,000 worker members, 150 employer partners, and several thousand consumer
members in 32 cities nationwide. The story of Saru and her co–founder's work founding ROC has
been chronicled in the book The Accidental American.
Saru is a graduate of Yale Law School and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She was
profiled in the New York Times "Public Lives" section (2005), named New York Magazine's
"Influentials" of New York City (2006), and one of Crain's "40 Under 40" (2008). In 2014, Saru

organizing on a national level. Finally, she also discussed how we as consumers can support the
movement through consumer activism. Her speech was inspiring, and she received a standing
